Author's POV:
You looked at Taehyung confused who shook his head saying, "My secretary can do the work. Ahaha! Why so serious?" You nodded unsurely before licking your ice cream as he smiled awkwardly cursing himself.

"Thank you for dropping me home though I always denied." You spoke bowing a little as he scoffed playfully saying, "Tch, no matter how much I get to know you, your habit of talking back never dies." You made an ugly face at him before waving at him as he did the same. You went back towards your house as Taehyung smiled watching you go home.
"Why do I want to keep being with her so much? I think I am doing too much now." He spoke sighing desperately before leaning on his car door.
---At your house
Entering your house, you were expecting to be greeted by your parents watching TV as always but instead, they were in the living room. You frowned going towards them speaking, "Mom? Dad? What's with the unusual environment at home today?"
"Ah, Y/N." Your dad spoke smiling a little. The atmosphere looked calm yet serious.
"So... you know, we got a call from Mr Hyun. They invited us to their house this Wednesday. I am guessing we're taking the next step." Your mother spoke smiling as you got a hang of what they were trying to say.
"Ah... so we're basically going there to fix the engagement date?" You asked as they nodded happily.
"Y/Nah, I don't know but, even though this marriage has been fixed between our families for years, I want you to give your true opinion. Don't feel pressured because of this, I want you to be happy with this marriage." Your father spoke suddenly making you frown.
"Why do you think that, dad?" You asked as he spoke, "Just because, these can happen. You know, change of hearts or situations which don't always go the planned way. Your mother wasn't supposed to be married to me but- look. That's why I want you to also be sure." You smiled nodding.
"Don't worry dad! I am happy and definitely happy!" You spoke, though you weren't very confident, you smiled shrugging it off.

"Why do I feel so weird and unexcited when I am marrying my crush?" You asked yourself before sighing. You still liked Hyunjin but you were just feeling a little down these days. Thinking about Hyunjin or the entire marriage thing was becoming a strange thing for you. You weren't even sure what you were feeling.
Hyunjin always treated you well. Even though there was no love between you both, just a one-sided crush since high school, you both were understanding and respectful to each other. You always wanted him to at least confess but understanding his personality, how he prioritized his life and goals instead of things like love or dating, you gave your hopes up. Maybe after marrying him, he'd fall for you?
He still sometimes put some effort and you definitely were grateful.
You loved the idea of a perfect person like him being with you. Of course, it was easier and better. More like getting a ready-made partner who seemed too perfect and ideal. But as time went by, his 'perfection' was starting to make you wonder.
"Perfect people make perfect relationships, then why does mine feel so imperfect?" You sighed before saying, "I like him... I am marrying him. I should be happy." You tried shrugging these thoughts off while getting ready for bed.
---Next day
"Another day of work. Why is my life so boring?" You rolled your eyes while banging your head on the wall of the bathroom as your mom shouted from outside telling you to be quick.
"Ugh." You groaned getting up before walking out of the bathroom and then the house.
---At office
"Why couldn't they give us a day-off?" Mina asked as you nodded your head with full enthusiasm loving the unrealistic idea.
"Because you all just love the idea of being away from work." Mr Lee spoke sighing as you both straightened your positions trying to act as if nothing happened.
"Aish, you both are silly!" Mr Lee spoke as you both looked at each other awkwardly and then at him.
An entire day passed in a jiffy as you stretched in your cubicle before sighing. Suddenly, your phone binged with a notification. You frowned looking at the phone to see a lot of messages from 'Mr Kim Taehyung' You sighed checking the texts.
"HELLO LADY."
"EXCUSE ME~~~~"
"HI? DO I NOT EXIST?'
"IGNORING ME HUH?"
"OH SORRY MY CAPS IS- I mean was on."
"Anyway, what are you doing?~~"
"Busy with work?"
"Looks like the lady is busy... well... I don't think I can do anything then(= ̄ω ̄=)"
"Is he a child or what..." You let out an airy chuckle not understanding his texts. Suddenly, you saw another message from him. It was a video. Opening it, you saw him in a cat filter.
"HeLo Y/N~ HeLo Y/N~" He spoke winking at the video as you let out a laugh at the ridiculous filter. You couldn't help but laugh hard at his ridiculousness.
"What the- 😂😂"
You sent him the message before chuckling as you kept the phone on the desk. You saw some more messages from him but the senior was giving around so you hid the phone focusing back on work not wanting to get an earful.
---After work
You sighed while getting inside your house. You were surprisingly pretty early today. Well, no one interrupted or stalled you like usually. Mostly THE Kim Taehyung.
Getting in the house you were welcomed by your mother and father's laughter. You smiled getting in, "What's cooking~"
They heard your voice and happily welcomed you saying, "We're having lunch with the Hyuns tomorrow! As you already know." Your father spoke as you smiled nodding.
"I am guessing your marriage isn't much far~" Your mother spoke as you gasped a little.
"We're having lunch with Mr and Mrs Hyun, and of course Hyunjin. Since it's been over years now that you both have been arranged, you're also the perfect age to get married and grow together, we're guessing we should be a little faster." Your father spoke as you spoke, "The same conversation again?" They chuckled as you laughed along.
---Before bed
"Why do I feel so weird? I am supposed to be happy." You spoke sighing before applying your skincare.
"These days, I've been feeling so out of the frame... he's perfect but I am not. He prioritises his life and works more while I don't even know what my life is about. Ah... I don't know. Let's just be happy. Not everyone gets to marry their crush." You spoke before sighing as you plopped on your bed.
You went to your messages to see no text from Hyunjin.
"He's so busy with his work. Well, it is a busy month. The sales are always high and hectic." You spoke but soon frowned.
"If this is the month of workload, and everyone's busy, why is that Mr Kim always so free?" You frowned hard before saying, "Why am I so curious?" You sighed before shaking your head. You entered the chatbox with him before clicking on that cat filtered video.
"Ahahahahaha!" You let out a loud laugh finding it extremely funny.
"Woah, this man's something else. He should be the MOST special guest in my wedding after Mina." You spoke giggling before smiling a little remembering all the times you enjoyed with him.
"He's like a guardian angel. Just too weird to be one." You spoke before chuckling as you tried to go back to bed.
---Next day
"Welcome Mr and Mrs Eun!" Mr Hyun welcomed you all as you bowed to them greeting them before sitting beside your parents. You smiled at Hyunjin who smiled back at you. You were now having lunch as Mr Hyun spoke, "I am happy we are going to be a family soon!" You smiled a little seeing everyone excitedly talking.
"Ah, and since they're now just the perfect age, maybe we should quicken the wedding and engagement." Mrs Hyun spoke as your mother replied, "Of course! That would be great? What say, kids?"
You just smiled not knowing what to reply as Hyunjin sighed speaking, "Can't we delay it a little more?" You all looked at him confused.
"Why? You don't want to marry Y/N?" Mr Hyun asked frowning as he shook his head.
"Ah! Don't get me wrong. I am definitely fine with marrying Y/N, we are good friends and I don't think there's any problem... But." He took a pause before speaking, "I think I am still very busy with work these days. After coming back from Jeju, I had a lot of workload on me and... it's just that, since we're already arranged, we can just get married later. I want to focus on my career and build something. I am sure Y/N would want that too?" He spoke.
You looked at him blankly not knowing what to say before looking at others who were looking at you worried.
"A-Ah! Don't worry. I am fine too! I mean... he's right. We need to focus on our career." You spoke looking at your food fake smiling.
"Aigo... if you both want to work that much, let's just delay it. Then." Your father spoke as you smiled nodding while Hyunjin nodded.
"It's okay. Are you sad?" Your mother whispered as you shook your head covering it with a smile as she nodded smiling back. You would've lied if you said you were okay. You were disappointed. Though you knew he was more into his work and everything, his words were unintentionally a little harsh to you today.
---Time skip
"He doesn't love me, why would he want to marry me in the first place? Of course... his career comes first." You spoke kicking the stone in front of you.
"Ah, Y/N. Here!" Hyunjin spoke handing you the ice cream as you smiled thanking him.
"You looked down today. Why?" He asked as you looked at him before scratching your neck.
"Is it... because of me?" He asked as you quickly shook your head, "no, why?" you asked.
"Actually, I am sorry for the delay. I don't know if I should've done that. it's just that... you know I work in a law firm. And there's so much work for me. I cannot prioritize my wedding instead of my clients. That's why I talked about delaying it. I've been very busy and there's been much more trouble. I hope you weren't disappointed." He spoke as you smiled.
"I understand. It's okay! I mean, those people who need help from you are more important. The wedding can be later too! I can also focus on my work and enjoy a single life till then!" You spoke as he smiled.
"Thank you." He spoke as you nodded smiling but your smile dropped as you looked away.
"You know, we don't love each other or anything. It's just an arranged marriage. But we're still friends and I hope we understand each other like this." He spoke as you smiled while internally thinking, 'You didn't have to say that and add chilli on burnt skin.'
"Let's go home then." He spoke as you nodded. You got in the car as he dropped you off. Your parents and his parents were already home after their lunch session. You both stayed back for some ice cream but you weren't feeling as happy today. not after lunch. But you knew what you were feeling, disappointment.
