People called Honor stupid, dumb, tactless, outrageous and so on.
Why?
Because she was the one chasing after a guy.
"Men feel it in their bones. They don't like when the female tosses things around. They have to be in charge."
"If he would've wanted you on his life, he would put you there."
"If he was truly interested, he wouldn't need pursuing."
"Stop chasing him. If you're the girl he deserves, then he'll go after you."
"Don't be desperate. Play hard to get. That's how you'll spike his interest."
These sentences and so many more would get her blood boiling.
It was the twenty first century.
If a guy convinces a girl that he's the guy for her, it's totally magical, but god forbid you're the girl going after the guy.
So immature.
So unlady like.
But Honor didn't let this get to her.
No.
She wasn't stupid, if she believed her and Uriah could have something truly wonderful then it's her problem.
She was going to open his eyes and make him see that she likes him.
What if he will maybe return those feelings?
She wasn't dumb, she wasn't immature.
She was putting herself out there.
She was being brave.
Honor had been home for almost a week and had managed to make Uriah attend a party and convince him to let her pick him up for school three days in a row now.
This day she was late.
Very very late, so Uriah had not waited and had driven his self to school where Honor was nowhere to be found.
He gave up on trying to look for her and went to class.
She'll show up.
She always does.
However this time she didn't.
And Uriah was worried, no matter how hard he tried to convince himself that he wasn't.
Honor Newman was slowly but surely making his way back into his life and he had to learn to accept it.
