Chapter 56 : Truth!

*** Flashback Continues ***

Sanyukta and Randhir sat down on the floor of store room. Sanyukta's head was on his shoulder and Randhir wrapped his arms around her.

Randhir : Tell me Sanyukta!

Sanyukta : Do you remember the prom night??

Randhir : Ohh the night when you danced with the most handsome man in the city!!

S : Yeah.. but the guy is too arrogant you know.

R : Well i don't think so... may be you were drunk that night to think all this.

S : Really?? And don't argue otherwise I won't tell you how it all started.

R : Sorry sorry.. go ahead.

S : So the prom night was the night we first saw each other. I didn't know him. I was checking out all the preparations when i bumped into him. He had entered as a stag too but i had no idea who he was. When i bumped into him he was continuously staring at me to which i felt uncomfortable and excused myself. Well that was our first encounter.

R : Can't you just walk properly if you had been careful we wouldn't have been here discussing this.

S : Wow! So now it is my fault that i am in this mess... great... i don't even want to talk to you now.. uhhh... why the hell did i even started to tell you all this... leave me i will just go from here.

Sanyukta tried to get out of his grip which only tightened in return.

R : I am sorry.. tell further.

S : Hmm.. better be... and It.. it was love... love at first sight for him.. at least that's what he says (Hearing this Randhir's grip tightened but Sanyukta chose to ignore it.) As he is rich it was quiet easy for him to get all of my basic information and well he knew about my college so he enrolled himself in here and in the same class. Well these things weren't hard for him with all the money he got.

R : Okay.. then??

S : Then he started approaching me first to be my friend. I recognised him when he came though I had that creepy feeling by the way he looked at me but i ignored it and accepted him as a friend. He used to flirt talk cheesy things which all were ignored by me. But i didn't know he was considering my friendship as love. I didn't know i was slowly becoming his obsession. The time i was spending with him was like a drug to him and he wanted more.

R : Obsession??

S : Yes.. i was one to him. Soon after a few time he proposed me and i obviously denied. He tried to woo and persuade me and i totally denied because after my first relation i didn't want any.

R : First relation?

S : Yes... I was in a relation earlier.

R : How did that end??

S : Well.. he cheated i broke up. (Shrugs)

R : Ohh.. okay. Go ahead.

S : Hmm.. so... then after few days he stopped pursuing me. I thought he was trying to move on as he stopped looking at me. I thought of everything getting normal but no i was totally wrong. (Shivering)

R : What happened next??

S : One evening i got a call from his mom. She gave me an address and asked me to come there as soon as possible. I was totally confused but i went there anyway. The place was very creepy though. She had known me as Sameer had made us meet which was weird anyways so i wasn't scared or so. She asked a little about me and then said that Sameer loves me deeply which i didn't expect him to tell her. She asked me why i denied to which i just answered that i don't love him and there is no other reason needed.

R : So what did she say??

S : She said she understands. She then asked about his behaviour after i rejected him. So i told her about him ignoring him and staying all time aloof. Thats when she dropped a bomb on me.

R : Bomb?? As in??

S : Sameer was obsessed with me.

R : You mean he has Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder.

S : Not exactly then but now a yes. I mean its towards me he feels this way. She told me he has his room covered with my pics and since when i have denied him he doesn't comes out of his room. It's only for college that he does because he gets to see me in real. When she said this i had no idea what to say or do. She begged me to say him a yes cause he was drowning himself in all the wrong stuffs slowly like drugs, gambling etc. So to save him she told me to say a yes to his proposal rather begged but i didn't know i was doing a mistake.

R : So you said a yes to her then??

S : Nope.. i asked her for time to think about this.. i couldn't say a yes straight away. She gave me time of a week or otherwise she would send him somewhere but i knew that would ruin him for worse.

R : After that?

S : I was confused what to do and what not then in that week i met you at the beach remember???

Randhir nods.

S : That day i asked you a question.

Randhir thinks and he remembers their conversation.

S : What would you do if someone proposes you but you don't feel anything that sort for the person but you can't just say no to the person maybe cause they mean you a lot or they would be too weak to handle the denial??

I looked at her and gave her a quizzical expression... where was she even going with this?? Is it that she loves someone but the person doesn't love her back. I don't think this is possible who wouldn't like her?? I have seen boys drooling over her in college. And why is she asking my opinion. Is it that she likes me and thinks that I don't love her back also I can't say her a no. Is it??

Stupid Assumptions. That's what you are making now.. she just asked you a general question nothing else.

My mind mocked me.

Getting no response from me Sanyukta shaked her haid and said "Uhhh.. sorry for such a question I was thinking something to say and my mind just came up with this. No offence for not answering. Just comsider me drunk when I was asking you that question."

Randhir (chuckles) : Seriously Sanyukta drunk?? And I was thinking about why you popped out with such a question suddenly. And to answer your question well... love just happens. It happens to all the people all the time somewhere or the other part of the world. And if someone loves you but you don't love them back you can just clarify them you don't have the same things for them politely.

S : Hmmm.. but what if the person says he is okay with it and his love is enough and after sometime he is sure that you would also fall for them.

R : Umm.. then you can give them a chance to keep there heart.

S : But isn't it that you are giving them false hopes about something which would never happen cause at some point you know that love the other one has won't be enough and you won't be loving the person back either.

R : Well what is the harm in trying and who knows maybe in future you are madly in love with them.

S : Okay.

R : And when you have already told that you don't love them so you can back out and they can't stop you.

S : Maybe you are right. I don't know though.

R : Hell!!😓 That means i basically hit the hammer on my own head by saying all that!! Stupid stupid me.

S : Uhh. You can say that cause after hearing to you i said a yes to his mom and then him she assured me though that she will make things happen in such a manner that he would be in such a situation that he would havd to leave me. But that was my greatest mistake cause she wasn't able to do anything about it. She started saying wrong about me to Sameer so that he would leave me but instead he started raising his voice against her and also threatened to leave house if he heard anything against me.

R : Ohh..

S : Yeah.. and dates with him were treacherous the reason i don't go with him because he would literally bash the boys who would even glance at me and it was getting catastrophic and i didn't want to see more fights, breaking bones and police so i denied all the dates with him which led to fights among us to which i thought as a good sign and that he would leave me but that never happened. He just made adjustments. But i knew he had anger issues by then so i started making him angry on petty issues to keep him far from me but i guess luck wasn't ever on my side cause he had raised his hand on me though later on he hurt himself because he realised his mistake and begged for sorry from me but that scared me to hell and after that i did all the stuffs according to him but all i wanted was freedom from him from everything and i have been telling his mom but she ain't able to do anything about it and i am pretty stuck up.

R : He freaking slapped you (Shaking her shoulders) and you did nothing about it. I don't care if he realised his mistake or not because that is end limit you need to be treated good. And from now on you wont be anywhere near him alone and thats an order. God why couldn't i see all this.... why wasn't i there. (Running a hand from his hair making it messy) You wont be near him anymore... Understood??

S : You can't do anything about it.

R : I can and soon you will be free from him.. that jerk would know his place. Just promise me that you would never be alone with him or just tell me wherever you are with him.

S : Okay... But what are you gonna do??

R (smirks) : Just wait and watch.
