Chapter 28: A Woman Scorned
Hey everyone. Sorry this took me almost a month to upload in this. This chapter required me to be in a certain mood, that I'm still honestly not in to write. Right now, I'm more frustrated than anything. Long story short- my grandmother has been here for over a week and she's beginning to drive me crazy...
Anyhow, I hope you all enjoy this anyways. There's a lot of foreshadowing in this chapter. Let's see if anyone can spot it. =P And also! This is one of the last chapters in this book. There will be a sequel. Just so you know. Hope you enjoy!

"I'm sure you waited for a long, long time to find a man like mine, but honey you're too late. So before you go and make your move, maybe me and you should get a few things straight. There's two ways we can do this; I'll let you decide- you can take it somewhere else or we can take it outside." –Homewrecker, Gretchen Wilson
Audrey sat in the Slytherin common room, flipping through her Astronomy text book. They were covering the constellations again for the final, so Audrey figured now would be a good time to refresh her memory of them. After all, Draco would be gone for a while; he and Ron went to the owlery to send some letters to their family and Artemis.
Admittedly, Audrey couldn't wait; final exams started tomorrow, and once they were completed, they would be finally graduating. Life could get back to normal, or rather as normal as her life could be now. The girl wasn't even sure where she and Draco would be staying after school ended. Part of her was hoping Draco had a place tucked away somewhere for just the two of them, yet part of her wanted to go back to the manor and live with the family. She wouldn't lie; she had grown attached to Draco's family, especially Artemis, who had become one of her closest friends. The lone letter she had written was to him, and she was hoping he wasn't going to flip when he found out about the baby.
Artemis. As soon as the name crossed her mind, it suddenly popped out at her in the text. That bewildered her a bit, as there were no constellations named for Artemis. The girl decided to backtrack and figure out what the book was talking about.
"In Greek mythology, one story states that Orion boasted to Artemis and her mother, Leto, that he was such a great hunter he would kill every animal on Earth. Although Artemis was a hunter herself, she also protected the animals of the planet. This angered Artemis, and she sent a Scorpion to battle Orion. When the Scorpion won, Zeus deemed that it was worthy enough to be raised into the heavens, and Orion as well- but only as a reminder to mortals as to what could happen when they were too prideful. In other versions..."
Audrey glanced back up the title of that section to see the word Scorpius written clearly above the picture of the constellation in question. The girl smiled at the name for some reason, and then kept on studying. Although she wasn't able to do so for very long.
A few minutes later, Audrey heard the common room's door open and shut. The girl lowered her book, looking up to see who could've been coming into the room. Once she saw who it was, Audrey felt her blood beginning to boil. She had yet to confront Pansy about what happened about a week ago, and now was her chance.
The black haired girl took a few steps into the room, not even noticing Audrey sitting there. Audrey watched Pansy with careful eyes, debating when would be the appropriate time to confront her. When Pansy had her back turned as she hung up her light jacket, Audrey made her move. In one swift motion, the girl tossed her book on the table, jumped up, and within seconds had Pansy twirled around, back pressed tightly against the wall.
The back of Pansy's head hit the concrete wall behind her, causing the girl to curse in pain. "What the hell is this about?" she hissed, glaring menacingly at Audrey who was still holding her tightly against the wall with just her left arm while her right held a wand a few inches from Pansy's face.
"You know damn well what this is about," Audrey retorted. The girl bit her tongue, trying to debate what she was even going to say next. "Who the hell do you think you are? Did you really think trying to kill me and my friends was going to pull Draco away from me? Or that forcing him into a kiss would?"
Pansy didn't say anything for a moment, and Audrey was growing all the more irritated with the girl with everything passing second. "You're not good enough for him. You don't deserve to be with him."
Audrey raised her eyebrow. Did Pansy actually hear the words coming out of her mouth? Audrey let out an angry sigh. "And you think you do?" she questioned. "Draco made it very clear to you years ago what he thought of you, did he not? Are you just so daft you don't understand?" When Pansy said nothing, Audrey continued. "Draco doesn't love you. He doesn't want you. He doesn't even want to see you. And if you can't get that through your skull, I will gladly do it for you."
"What makes you so sure of that?" Pansy inquired. "He was with me much longer than he's been with you, married or not."
"He chose me over you, didn't he? He married me, not you," Audrey hissed. "The sooner you realize that, the better. Draco is mine..." Audrey resisted the urge to start a physical altercation as she grew all the more irritated with Pansy. "And I swear to Merlin if you don't back the hell off of him I'm going to kill you myself. Now quit being a hoe, and get a man of your own."
Audrey watched as Pansy's face scrunched up in disgust. "You can keep Draco. Neither of you will be alive long much longer anyways. You have much bigger things to be worried about than me," Pansy spat. "Things are about to get dangerous."
Audrey disregarded that last statement, and glared at the girl. "Then take this as your only warning. Leave Draco and I alone, or so help me... you will see a whole new level of crazy you do not want to witness. There will be hell to be paid," Audrey hissed. "Now get the hell out of here before I retract my warning."
The girl lowered her wand and removed her arm from Pansy's chest. Without another word, Pansy scurried off to the girls' dormitory, leaving Audrey standing there alone. The girl stowed her wand back into her pocket before sauntering back over to where she had been sitting earlier. Audrey picked up her textbook and resumed studying for her exam.
The girl had only been sitting there for a few minutes before the common room's door opened once again. Audrey looked up from her book, this time to see Draco walking into the room. The boy strode over to where his wife was sitting, and he sat on the couch next to her.
"What are you reading, love?" he asked.
"My Astronomy textbook," Audrey sighed. "I take it you sent the letters?"
Draco nodded. "Yes, all of them have been sent," he replied. He kissed the top of Audrey's head. "So you've been studying, I take it?"
Audrey shrugged. "Sure, you could call it that," she said, shutting her book.
Draco raised an eyebrow. "Is that all?"
"Told Pansy off too," Audrey admitted. "Think I made my point to stay away from you."
Draco sighed. "Audrey, I told you not to do anything-"
"-I didn't do anything," Audrey cut him off. "I only told the hoe that I was not playing this game anymore, and that if she didn't stay away from you there would be hell to be paid."
Draco smiled slightly before placing his hand on Audrey's stomach. "Is the baby okay?"
"He's fine," Audrey assured.
Draco raised an eyebrow. "He?"
Audrey looked over at him. "Maybe. Figure it's a fifty-fifty chance. I kind of just picked one until we know for sure."
"And we won't know at least for another... three months or so?" Draco inquired. "Unless... you don't want to find out until they're born?"
Audrey shrugged. "Either way is fine by me. If we find out sooner, we could better plan what color to paint the room, and what to do for the baby shower. And speaking of that, where the heck are we going to be staying when we get done here?"
Draco laughed lightly. "Relax darling. And we'll probably stay with Artemis for a bit until we're able to go look for places together."
Audrey rested her head against her husband's shoulder. The girl honestly was a bit drained, and nothing sounded better than going to sleep. Everything was finally calming down, and Audrey hoped her little talk with Pansy had sorted that dilemma out. As she closed her eyes, and slowly drifted off to sleep, the girl's cares melted away.
However, if she had known how right Pansy had been about the bigger threat, Audrey may not have fallen asleep so easily...
