Chapter 4: I Put The Fun in Function

Did I mention that I have two classes with Dio? So I have two times the fun (note the sarcasm)! The second class I have with him is math. Of course he would be in my two favorite subjects because otherwise it would upset the balance of the universe. At least I have the coolest math teacher since Mr.Sparrow. My teacher's name is Mr. Carrier. He is about 6'2" and has eyes the color of the summer sky. He has an affinity for puns and corny jokes, much like myself. When we graph, he often says that he puts the fun in function and I often reply,"And in funeral." I get really excited in that class because I love learning new things, but my excitement instantly dims when people complain or tell me that it's not important. Learning was all I had as a kid. I mean I didn't have any real friends until I met Jenny when I was ten. And if my parents said more than three sentences to me a day, it was to get information about the other one. So I feel really hurt when people say that. It makes me feel worthless and depressed. I try to cover it up with a smile, but I think the hurt still shows because they apologize, only to do it again five minutes later. Dio is the worst because he's loud and everyone agrees with him because of his popularity. In sense he's better though because he never apologizes insincerely. He's actually somewhat intelligent to my surprise, but I don't think he likes fun functions. Math class is also where everyone talks about sports and Mr. Carrier can bash on any team. Although we're still trying to find out which one is his favorite so we can bash right back, not that I know anything about sports.
Dio is still pissed at me. He insults me at every opportunity. And I'm just over here like, dude get over it. The world is not going to end because one girl isn't fawning over you.
