Arrow stared into the boy's eyes. Tears blurred his vision and slipped down his cheeks making tracks on his pale skin. The boy in front of him was beautiful. Long brown hair that curled around his cheeks.
Soft brown eyes that held millions of words, never to be uttered. Arrow thought, being the naive 16 year old that he was, that he would spend the rest of his life with this boy.
Oh how wrong he was. Here he was, in the middle of a fight with his boyfriend Alex Turner.
" Why aren't you around anymore? I thought we were supposed to go to the movies last week and then you blew me off. We were supposed to go to dinner two days ago and you never arrived at the restaurant. We were supposed to go to the beach today and here I am standing at your door at 11pm wondering what the fuck happened! " Arrow exclaimed with a whimper.
" I don't love you.. " Alex whispered.
" Excuse me?"
" I said I don't love you anymore! " Alex yelled.
The world seemed to stop. Everything was frozen. Arrow's heart felt like it was about to explode. You know how it's said that people can die from a broken heart? Well Arrow felt like he was dying.
"A-Al? " he whimpered.
" No Arrow...go home. Go find someone better then me. I...I'm sorry " and with those words, the door closed and Arrow's world turned to ice.
- 6 Years Later -
Arrow walked through the world. Everything was still ice. He blew cold air onto his cold hands thawing them slightly but just barely. You would think that he would've gotten over the boy with the plain golden brown eyes but he never did.
With every new place he moved to he just saw more traces of Alex. Alex's band was booming. His music flowed out of people's earbuds and left permanent imprints on Arrow's mind. Arrow would never admit it but he bought every Arctic Monkeys album and had memorized every song by heart.
Arrow stepped into a cafe and looked around at the all too familiar surroundings of a building he'd been in so many times.
He had come back to Sheffield, maybe permanently maybe only until he found a new place to go though he'd been all over England and couldn't find a place he loved more then Sheffield.
He ordered a coffee, making sure to be as kind as possible in his frozen state. Suddenly someone walked through the door.
The man looked at Arrow and felt his blood run cold. Arrow looked up and caught the man's eyes but he couldn't recognize him. All he could see was light eyes and a worried expression. His heart began to hurt.
He stood, waiting for his coffee which might warm his frozen body. he scratched his protruding ribs and sighed sadly. His coffee was done so he grabbed it and made it back into the world surrounding him. He was almost mute at this point of his life.
He only talked when he needed to which was rarely as he didn't have many human encounters anymore. he didn't really mind though, being mute.
He quite liked the silence. It was comforting, if a little lonely at times.
Throwing a line out to sea.
Music poured out of his earbuds and slipped into his mind.
To see if I can catch a dream.
Arrow stared into the distance as he walked to his current apartment. His feet dragged softly against the ground.
As he made it to his apartment building he let the rest of the world fall away from him and stepped into the empty building making his way to his number. The next song started and filled Arrow's eardrums.
Outside the cafe by the cracker factory
Arrow grunted at the all too familiar song.
You were practicing a magic trick
He unlocked his apartment and stepped into the empty place, setting down his backpack and coffee.
And my thoughts got rude, as you talked and chewed
He opened his backpack and pulled out a sketchbook. It was filled with words that seemed so intricate and held interesting meaning. The words surrounded drawings and colors.
On the last of your pick and mix
Arrow began to think about Alex. He put his pencil to a clean page of paper and began sketching. The image of Alex in his head was so vivid as he replicated it on the paper.
Tears began to pour down his cheeks and soak the paper. He began to think of people's words over the past six years.
" You should get over him he was never good for you anyways. "
" He did nothing but influence you negatively. Find someone new. "
" You still smoke because of that boy! "
Arrow sighed and continued to draw, letting the familiar lines of Alex's face embed themselves onto the paper.
He can't help but still be in love with Alex. It's nearly impossible to just let someone go when they showed the world in a whole new light.
Alex showed Arrow the whole world plus some. Showed him winter nights on top of rooftops with a fag in between his lips and holding hands on said rooftop.
Showed him adventures at midnight with lips and teeth clashing together whilst laying in the grass and feeling it tickle your bare skin.
Alex showed him love.
And Arrow wasn't just gonna let that love go so easily.
