Chapter 2
A/N: Hello! This is Naomi, by the way. I'll be doing my author's notes in italics, just like this, just so you know.
Welcome to Chasing Chaos, and I hope you enjoy! :)
RSW - Naomi's perspective
I typed out a reply to Ry's message, that stated her and Dark's demand for me to stop expanding the Republic.
You know I wouldn't invade you without a good reason, right? I'm not going to touch your countries in my expansion of the Republic. You're friends of mine, I wouldn't do that.
I paused a little, reading my message over. Then I added:
You can trust me.
I closed my laptop, sighing. Dark of Deolark and Ry of Emeraldia had been demanding me to stop expanding my nation, the Republic Of The Shadow Walkers, or RSW for short.
But I wasn't going to stop, not for a while... And I really wasn't going to touch their countries.
However, they believed the opposite, and I felt in my heart that they saw me as a threat, and not a good friend anymore.
The fact saddened me, since we used to be the best of friends.
Well, they'll come around. They'll soon find that they can trust me... Hopefully.
I perked up as I heard the sound of metal paws walking on the tile floor. Spinning my swivel chair around to face the doorway of my room, I saw my little robot dog, Ransom.
Ransom acted just like a real dog, except that he couldn't bark. Having several features inside his metal body, he was programmed to recognize my voice whenever I gave a command.
He was my little companion, and I could take him almost anywhere, because he could form himself into a small metal ball that I always carried around when I wasn't using him.
Since I had only two siblings left out of five, and they were both busy helping run the place and going on with their daily lives, Ransom was usually my only company that wasn't someone doing their job.
I patted his head, and he tilted his head at me cutely. Even a robot dog was just as cute as a real one, except that they weren't fuzzy. But Ransom was useful, and that was enough.
Leaping up on my lap, he pressed his head against my chin, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay, little guy, can you go get my phone?" I set him on the floor.
He "sniffed" the air, and then walked through the doorway, looking for the phone. A few minutes later, Ransom came back, with my cell phone in his mouth.
"Thank you, Ransom," I patted his head. "Good boy!"
More messages from Dark and Ry demanding me to stop. I sighed. "Come on, what happened to their trust...?" I muttered.
Apparently, it's nonexistent now...
Gee, thanks guys. I feel the LOVE, I thought sarcastically.
There was also a message from my good friend, Laurel:
I think you need a bodyguard. I mean, you're the leader of the country, so there's gonna be some retaliation someday with all the expanding you're doing... You need more protection than just your hidden handgun that you always carry and some karate lesson knowledge.
I replied: I also know how to use a sword, and knives... I don't need a bodyguard. I'm fine.
I don't think you see what I'm seeing. You're expanding a LOT, there's bound to be someone that is going to try and kill you someday for all this.
I won't die. That's a promise, Laurel.
You can promise me all you want, but that doesn't mean you can keep it. Please do consider hiring a bodygaurd. For me.
I sighed. Fine, I'll consider. Maybe.
I turned off my phone, and set it on my desk. She was always overly concerned.
Looking back on my computer, I reread the conversations with Dark and Ry, wondering if they were going to do anything.
As I did so, I realized that they really didn't trust me. At all.
No longer was I a good friend...
I was a threat. A possible enemy.
It would take much effort to regain their friendship and their trust... And time. Lots of it.
Please, please don't let fate drive us apart any more, I prayed. Life, don't you DARE mess things up.
Sighing longingly, I thought:
What happened to the good old days...?
A/N: So, I want to let you know that basically each of us is going to be writing the perspective of our nation. It will be fun, and also very interesting.
I'll go bother the others to make sure they don't procrastinate too much... Sigh.
What will happen next? Will the demands of Dark and Ry cease, or will they persist? Will Naomi become more threatening, or will she become their friend once again? Will Laurel succeed in obtaining Naomi a bodygaurd? And will I do a good job of making sure the others don't procrastinate too much? Find out next time, on Chasing Chaos!
Alright. See you in the next chapter!
