Chapter 7: Revealing My Plans
-Astrid-
I was roaming Berserker Island. I haven't been here for quite a while, but since Heather and Dagur decided to team up to find the father, this place was looking better.
I could see small patches of grass sticking up from in between the small cracks in the ground, and I noticed that the trees were in the first stage of growing leaves again.
I placed my hands behind my back and strolled to what looked like the chief's house.
The house was mostly made up of stone. It had one window on the front which was placed about a meter over the door that was made out of dark wood and black metal. The roof was made up of dark wooden planks to match the door, and on each side of the house there were two rooms sticking out.
I walked up the stone stairs that led up to the house and knocked on the door.
I heard some mumbling inside as I waited for someone to open.
The door was opened by a pale girl with black hair and emerald green eyes. She was wearing sharp metal armor, with some small pieces of leather tangled in here and there.
Her face was strict at first, but it softened up once she realized it was me.
She smiled widely.
"Astrid! I'm so happy to see you!" Heather squealed as she pretty much jumped me.
We fell backwards and my head hit the hard stone I had been standing on a minute ago.
"Ouch" I winced.
Heather quickly got up and helped me.
"Are you okay? I'm so sorry, Astrid!" Heather apologized.
I rubbed the spot that hurt the most.
"It's okay, I understand that you're happy to see me" I said to her, smiling.
Heather chuckled.
"Come, let's go get you some ice" Heather said as she helped me inside.
The inside of the house smelled like death, and that wasn't so weird considering there were loads of animal skulls hanging on the walls.
To my surprise, it wasn't that cold in here.
In a corner of the room there was a big fireplace with flames licking the stone that was keeping it away from the dark wooden floor.
Heather disappeared behind a door that was right beside the fireplace.
After around 3 minutes, she came back with a bucket of ice.
"How did you manage to get that?" I wondered.
"Dagur and I decided to bring home some snow go make ice on our last adventure" Heather said as she placed the bucket beside me.
"Speaking of Dagur, where is he?" I asked Heather.
She went over to a basket that was sitting by the staircase that lead upstairs, and took out a piece of leather.
"Dagur is out doing some business to help with the trade here on Berserker island" Heather said as she placed ice on the leader and then wrapped it up.
"Aha. Ok" I responded as she placed the cold leather to the spot where I hit my head.
It felt really good.
"But the real question is, what are you doing here Astrid?" Heather questioned.
I hesitated, but after a short while, I spoke.
"Hiccup and I are having our anniversary in a short while, and I'm kind of sending him out on a 'hunt' all over the archipelago to find me, so that we in the end can celebrate our anniversary" I told her.
Heather squealed.
"That's so romantic! How can I help?"
"So... in a day or two, Hiccup is going to arrive here, and you're going to tell him that I was here, but I recently left. Don't reveal the plan! And then you just tell him to go where we found the reaper" I told Heather.
She nodded.
"I can do that. I will do that" She smiled at me.
I got up from the chair and made sure to hold on to the cold leather bag.
"Where are you going? Aren't you going to spend the night?" Heather wondered. I shook my head.
"Unfortunately no, I don't have time, but I'll come visit another time though!" I said as I began walking out the door.
"Oh, okay then! See you soon!" Heather said as she waved at me.
I smiled to her and waved back.
I turned away from her and began walking.
"Yeah...see you soon" I muttered to myself.
