Chapter 13: Finishing Up?

-Astrid-

I took a deep breath and let the salty sea air fill my lungs.

Dragon Island.

I haven't been here in a while.

The fog that surrounded the island wasn't as thick as it once was, so it let through a little sunshine.

There was nothing here, the only thing I could hear was the sound of my heart beating and the waves splashing onto the shores.

I walked around the island and searched for a stick of some sort.

I found an old bow from when Hiccup fought the Red Death.

As soon as I thought about that, a chill crept up my spine, and my mind was filled with worry.

What if the Red Death reproduced? It would've taken long enough for it's kid to become a full grown adult dragon!

I shook my head, trying to wipe away the bad thoughts.

"I'm all alone, I'm all alone" I told myself, in a desperate attempt to calm down.

I tightened my grip over the broken arrow.

Bowed down and started writing in the sand, making sure that the runes were large enough for Hiccup to see.

I furrowed my brows.

"Please don't give up yet, Hiccup" I said looking up at the sky, in hopes of him getting here early, which was clearly too much to wish for.

Because if there's one thing I know, then there's the fact that Hiccup is at least two days behind me.

A pain started growing in my chest as I thought about him.

What I would do to see him and my other friends again... I'm so tired of this game I'm playing.

I tried to push away all the thoughts that were rushing around my mind.

I looked around the island and made the decision that since I was here, I might as well look around a bit, right?

I strolled along the edge of the water with my hands on my back.

I closed my eyes, but I was interrupted by the yelling and the sound of explosions.

I opened my eyes to see loads of smoke and Vikings.

The Vikings were fighting something... gigantic.

The powerful roar of a dragon ripped through the air, making me want to tear my ears off.

And that's when I heard it, laughter.

I looked up and saw a green dragon flying over my head with two Vikings sitting on each of its necks.

"Ruff? Tuff?" I asked myself.

"HICCUP!" My head turned around faster than the speed of light.

A young girl with long blonde braided hair and a striped steel-blue sleeveless shirt,
tan cloth bracers on her arms with arm wrappings above them, a red skirt with spikes surrounding it and another black skirt underneath the spiked one, and dark blue leggings. She also wore a skull emblazoned belt with a pouch tied to it and shoulder pads.

It was the 15 year old me.

She was picked up by a auburn haired boy on his night fury before being gently placed in the sand.

"Oh honey, if you only knew how much he would end up meaning to you when you get older" I said, smirking at my younger self who was watching the love of her life fly high up in the sky to fight a gigantic dragon.

Once again, I watched as the sky was lit up by the flames of the Red Death.

And then, the Red Death crashed onto the beach and created a massive explosion which Toothless and Hiccup fell towards.

I closed my eyes again, and when I opened the, this time, I was once again all alone on Dragon Island.

I rubbed my temples and took a deep breath.

"Almost done"
