Chapter 1: Fated Meeting
Disclaimer: I do not own Fire Emblem: Three Houses or its characters, I only own Blythe, Celine, and the changes in the plot that I make in the war phase.
Enjoy!

Dream:
Tailtean Plains, Imperial Year 91
An army was heard running through the forest, into the Tailtean Plains. On one end, the army that ran through the forest stood. On the other end, an army that looked like barbarian warriors stood. Both armies ran at each other, clashing their weapons in the field of battle. The army that went through the forest had Pegasus Knights and Cavaliers, while it seemed like the other army only had infantry soldiers. One Cavalier saw a light out of the corner of his eye. He looked up, and saw a flaming sword coming down from the sky.
"Huh?" The Cavalier said in confusion. The sword then made impact with the ground, and the flames around it spread out into a ring. Screams from the soldiers who were burning alive rang throughout the battlefield.
All of a sudden, a man jumped from an unknown place, and into the center of the ring of fire! He seemed to be the leader of the other army. When he looked up, people could see that he had yellow eyes. He picked up the sword that landed on the ground, and the fire died down. Once the fire died down, cavaliers were seen on the other end of the blaze. The cavaliers ran forward with a war cry!
The sound of battle was heard from all over the battlefield. On the other end of the field from where the man was, a squadron of soldiers from the man's army ran towards a woman. The woman seemed to be the leader of the army who ran through the forest!
The woman had green hair, and green eyes. She also wore flowers on the sides of her hair, near her ears.
The squadron leader ran to the woman, but one of her guards stepped in the way. It was a short fight between the two of them. The guard fell to the ground, wounded, while saying, "Lady Seiros!"
A few yards away from the woman, now known as Seiros, the man was seen killing his enemies left and right! After he killed them, he looked to the right of him, and saw Seiros standing valiantly in the battlefield.
He swung his sword up in the air, and it came apart in a whip-like fashion. The man then swung his sword towards Seiros with a yell!
Although the sword did not reach Seiros, the devastation that the one slice caused threw most of the soldiers in front of Seiros up into the air. Seiros then got a slightly crazed look in her eyes, and swung her sword down in a ready stance.
She then began to run forward, her pace increasing with each step. The man's sword came back together, and he turned to see Seiros running up to him. Seiros jumped up, and her and the man crossed blades. They engaged in a sword fight, with each of them letting out grunts as they swung their swords. Seiros backflipped away from a swing from the man's sword, and engaged once more in the sword fight.
Both of them swung their swords at the same time, reaching a deadlock. The man won the deadlock, though, as he kneed Seiros. He then swung his sword in the whip-like fashion again, with Seiros missing the tip of the blade by inches!
Seiros rolled under his second swing, and let her sword be grabbed by the whip-like sword. She then threw her sword to the ground, and charged at the man, both now seemingly weaponless. Seiros punched the man in the face, and then kicked him down to the ground!
Seiros grabbed a dagger from her belt, and pointed her dagger at the man. She then said, "Tell me, Nemesis. Do you recall the Red Canyon?"
The man, who was now known as Nemesis, widened his eyes. He most likely remembered the Red Canyon. Seiros then plunged the dagger down, while repeatedly yelling, "You'll die for that! Die! Die!"
She then said, "You took away...everything that I loved!"
After stopping, she then looked to see her army cheering at their victory. Seiros then walked over to Nemesis's sword, and picked it up gently. She put it up to her face, and softly told the sword, "He's gone now, Mother..."
The scene then faded away in a swirl of colors, and the scene went to a girl that was sleeping on a throne. After a few seconds, the girl opened her eyes, and looked forward. She then said, "Oh my. What could've brought you here?"
-------------------------------------------------
Dream-Like Environment:
The girl on the throne yawned. She then asked to herself, "I wonder how you got in here..."
The girl on the throne then said in a slightly scolding tone, "It is most rude to interrupt a moment of repose. Very rude indeed."
She beckoned the person looking at her forward while telling them, "Now come to me. I wish to have a look at you."
The person walked into the light. It was a male around the age of 21. He had teal hair, with blue eyes. The male was wearing black armor with a starish design on his chest.
"Hmm... I have not seen the likes of you before. Who are you, anyway?" The girl asked while looking at the male.
"I'm a mortal." The male replied with no expression on his face.
"I see." The girl said. She then continued with, "Then you must have a name of sorts. Go on."
"Byleth. My name is Byleth." The male, now known as Byleth, told the girl.
"Huh. I shall not ever grow accustomed to the sound of human names." The girl said while sitting up on her throne. She then told Byleth, "You must possess a day of birth as well. Beneath which moon and on what day were you born to this world?"
"The 20th day of the Horsebow Moon." Byleth replied.
"Well, wonders never cease! It seems we share our day of birth. How strange!" The girl exclaimed.
"It is almost...time to...begin..." The girl said. She then fell asleep. The dream scene then faded away.
-------------------------------------------------
Remire Village (Great Tree Moon, Year 1180)
"Hey. Time to wake up." Byleth heard a voice say. He recognized it to be his father's.
"Come on, big brother!" A young woman's voice said next.
"Byleth, we don't have all night." A third voice said, slightly annoyed at the teal-haired man's sleeping habits.
Byleth then got up, and walked over to the three people.
His father, Jeralt, had blonde hair with light brown eyes. Jeralt was wearing primarily orange armor, with some grays for the sleeves.
The second person, Blythe, was his younger sister by four years. Blythe was 17 years old. She had waist-length, turquoise hair, with blue eyes. She was wearing a mage outfit that was blue and black, and she had a sword belt underneath of the robe. Blythe was holding a fire tome.
Lastly, the third voice was said by a female with dark blue hair, and dark blue eyes. Her name was Celine, and she was the same age as Blythe. Celine was wearing a myrmidon outfit that was sky blue. Her sword was in its sheath on her belt.
"Were you having that dream again?" Jeralt asked. Byleth nodded while saying, "I was dreaming about a war..."
He then explained his dream. Jeralt looked away, saying, "Massive armies clashing on a vast field, right? There hasn't been a battle like that in over three centuries..."
He then looked back towards his son, and told him, "In any case, just put that out of your mind for now. The battlefield is no place for idle thoughts."
"The battlefield should only be an area of extreme focus, with your mind concentrating on the battle. Right, Father?" Blythe said while looking at her father.
"Exactly. Risking your life is part of the job for mercenaries like us. Letting your mind wander is a sure way to get yourself killed." Jeralt explains. He then states where the next job is, "Ok, time to get moving. Our next job is in the Kingdom."
Jeralt reminds his children about the distance. "I told you all before. It's far from here, so we'll need to leave at dawn."
"Of course." Byleth, Blythe, and Celine say at the same time. Blythe looks out the window, and sees the mercenary group outside. Jeralt follows her gaze, and says, "Hm? Good grief. Everyone is already waiting for us outside."
A mercenary runs inside of the house. He says, "Jeralt! Sir! Sorry to barge in, but your presence is needed."
"What's happened?" Jeralt asks for the report. After the report, Jeralt and Celine walk outside of the house, but Byleth and Blythe stayed behind.
"Are you sure the dreams aren't trying to tell you something, By?" Blythe asks while looking at her brother.
"I don't know, Bly. But, let's go catch up to Celine and Father." Byleth responds while shaking his head. Both siblings then exited the house, and went after their sister and father.
-------------------------------------------------
Byleth and Blythe saw their father and sister in the distance. They were near a girl with white hair, a boy with light-blonde hair, and a boy with brown hair. Once they got closer, they saw that the girl was wearing primarily red, the blonde-haired boy wearing blue, and the brown-haired boy wearing yellow.
"Please forgive our intrusion." The blond said while bowing down. "We wouldn't bother you were the situation not dire."
"What do a bunch of kids like you want at this hour?" Jeralt asks.
"We're being pursued by a group of bandits. I can only hope that you will be so kind as to lend your support." The blond responded.
"Bandits? Here?" Jeralt questions.
"It's true." The girl states. She then continues, "They attacked us while we were at rest at our camp."
The brown haired boy said, "We've been separated from our companions and we're outnumbered. They're after our lives... not to mention our gold."
"I'm impressed that you're staying so calm considering the situation. I... Wait. That uniform..." Jeralt says, and then trails off.
Blythe turns to her father, and tells him, "No time about that! We have to help them, Father! After all, they came to us to ask for assistance."
"Bandits spotted just outside the village! Damn... there are a lot of them." A mercenary says while running up.
"I guess they followed you all the way here. We can't abandon this village now." Jeralt states. He then turns to his children, and tells them, "Come on, let's move. Hope you all are ready."
"I'm ready." Blythe says while holding her tome in her right hand, and unsheathing her sword with her left hand.
"Don't even have to ask." Celine states while unsheathing her sword with her right hand.
Byleth nods in confirmation. Everyone then set out to defend the village from bandits.
'Swordsmanship and magic...I'm impressed.' The blonde thought while glancing at Blythe.
-------------------------------------------------
Everyone arrived at the edge of Remire Village. The ruffian in front did not see the group yet, they were still out of the range of his eyesight.
"I see seven enemies." Celine stated while looked out into the impromptu battlefield. Based on Celine's report of numbers, Blythe got an idea!
"Father?" Blythe says. Jeralt looks over to his turquoise-haired daughter. Blythe continued, "If you take out the first one in front of us, could we use the divide and conquer strategy? There would be six of them, so everyone could take on one of the bandits."
Jeralt ponders his daughter's proposed strategy. They have the appropriate numbers to do her strategy, but there are three other people. He reached his decision.
"Alright. We do what Blythe said. Two groups of three, one group takes the left, and the other takes the right." Jeralt told the group. He then continued with, "Blythe, take Blue and Yellow with you, and go to the left. Celine, take your brother and Red, and go to the right."
Everyone nodded in confirmation. Jeralt charges ahead on his horse, and kills the bandit in front of the group.
"Now!" Jeralt says. Both groups then split apart, and went in their respective directions.
-------------------------------------------------
With Blythe:
Blythe, the boy in blue, and the boy in yellow ran for a few minutes going left. They stopped in the middle of a clearing.
"Thank you for helping us in our time of need." The boy in blue told Blythe. He then continued with, "We heard of a mercenary group in the area near our camp, so we came to ask for assistance."
"No problem! I would have helped you all regardless of whether the bandits followed you all or not. If someone needs help, regardless on whether they're nobility or not, I'll do as much as I can to help!" Blythe told her two companions.
"Might I know the name of the maiden who was so kind to offer to help us in our precarious predicament?" The boy in yellow asked Blythe while bowing down.
"The maiden's name is Blythe. Daughter of the Blade Breaker." Blythe replies to the boy in yellow. She then looks at the boy in blue, and asks, "What are the names of the comrades that I fight with today?"
"My name is Dimitri, and the boy in yellow over there is Claude. The girl in red that went with your siblings is Edelgard." The boy in blue, now known as Dimitri, responded.
"Now that we got introductions out of the way, should we take out the bandits?" Claude asks while walking over, twirling his bow.
"Yep." Blythe says while putting her fire tome in her robe, and adjusting her sword grip.
"Any of you guys have a plan?" Claude asks Blythe and Dimitri. Both of them think for a second, and then Blythe speaks up.
"Claude, if you could provide supporting fire with your bow, Dimitri and I could work together to take out the bandits. We could use the forest around us to our advantage." Blythe says.
"Using the surrounding terrain to our advantage, and using our weapon skills effectively, absolutely brilliant!" Dimitri praises Blythe on her plan. Blythe blushes lightly, not being used to her plans being praised.
After a few seconds, Blythe clears her throat. She then asks, "Are you both ready?"
"Indeed." "Always." Both boys replied.
"Let's go!" Blythe announces before running forward, Dimitri and Claude following behind.
-------------------------------------------------
With Byleth and Celine:
Byleth, Celine, and the girl in red went to the right, the opposite direction that Blythe and her group ran. While they were running, Celine had a question for the girl to her right.
"Hey, what's your name? Also, who were the other two people with you?" Celine questions the girl in red.
"My name is Edelgard, and the two boys who went with your sister are Claude and Dimitri. Claude is the one in yellow, and Dimitri is the one in blue." The girl, now known as Edelgard, replies.
"Bandits up ahead." Byleth's voice was heard over the conversation. Both girls caught up to Byleth.
"What's the plan?" Edelgard asked.
"Use the forest to our advantage, and ambush them." Byleth responds. Both girls nod, and they quietly enter the forest behind the bandits.
-------------------------------------------------
Back to Blythe, Dimitri, and Claude:
Blythe and the other people in her group were following the strategy that Blythe suggested. Dimitri and Blythe were hiding in the forest, while Claude was providing supporting fire. Blythe and Dimitri were back-to-back, covering each other when an enemy came at the other's blindside. The group had already taken out two of the three bandits in their direction, and was working on the third one.
Dimitri and Blythe got out of the back-to-back position, and went on each side of the bandit. Blythe was advancing on the left side of the bandit, while Dimitri was doing the same action on the right side. Their weapons wounded the bandit's arms and legs, and the killing blow was about to be dealt. Blythe and Dimitri both leapt back. Blythe was about to move forward at the same time as Dimitri, when she couldn't move her foot! She looked down to see a knot of grass around her foot.
"Oh no!" When Dimitri heard that, he looked over to see Blythe struggling to get her foot loose.
Blythe kept trying to get her foot out of the grass knot, but to no avail! All of a sudden, she heard a yell. The turquoise-haired girl turned to see the bandit charging up to her, aiming for the kill.
When the bandit swung down, he had a confident expression on his face. All of a sudden, his swing was blocked!
Blythe looked up to see Dimitri standing in front of her, taking a protective stance.
"Dimitri!" Blythe said with a relieved and thankful tone in her voice. She then got her foot out of the grass knot. The bandit got ready to swing again, when Blythe twirled out of the way.
Blythe got behind the bandit, and began to get in the stance for her Wrath Strike combat art that her father taught her. She then said, "For attempting to hurt me and my comrades... Your fate is sealed!"
While she swung her sword, a crest came up from behind her. Blythe killed the bandit, and she turned around to see Claude and Dimitri giving her amazed gazes.
"Dang!" Claude said in amazement.
"Impressive." Dimitri added. He then asked Blythe, "You have a Major Crest of Seiros?"
"Yeah." Blythe said while nodding. She then added, "I inherited it from my father. I don't know where he got it, though."
"That's a matter for another time. Should we get back to Edelgard and the others?" Claude asked.
"Yeah." Blythe said. She then went east to where Byleth and the others were, both boys following behind.
-------------------------------------------------
To Celine and Byleth:
Byleth, Celine, and Edelgard killed the two other bandits, and were working on the last one. The bandit that was left had more impromptu armor on him than the other bandits that everyone had killed. He also had more belongings.
"This one's probably the leader of them all." Celine said. Byleth and Edelgard nodded in agreement.
"Let's take him down." Edelgard stated. Byleth made an affirmative grunt, while Celine said, "Right."
Byleth, Celine, and Edelgard then moved in to kill the bandit. The bandit leader kept trying to dodge Byleth and Celine. The bandit seemed to be trying to get to Edelgard! The bandit got past Celine, and it seemed he had a clear shot of Edelgard. All of a sudden, Byleth slid in front of Edelgard!
"Hey!" The bandit exclaimed when he saw Byleth in front of his target. He then said, "You with the blank stare, out of my way!"
"Sorry, can't do that." Byleth responded. He then pushed the bandit off balance with his sword, while Edelgard and himself jumped back. Edelgard jumped to the right, while Byleth jumped to the left.
"Celine!" Byleth said.
"On it!" Celine responded. She then charged at the bandit, sword drawn. She swung her sword, and the bandit went down with one strike!
'That was too easy.' Celine thought while looking at the bandit that was on the ground. All of a sudden, the bandit jumped up, and pushed Celine out of the way!
"No!" Celine exclaimed. The bandit then ran at Edelgard with a yell. She heard the yell, and she pulled out a dagger and put it in front of herself.
Byleth saw this happen, and he began to run as fast as he could to the bandit and Edelgard. He got there just in time. The bandit swung down his axe with a "You'll die!"
Byleth pushed Edelgard out of the way, and all he could feel was his world fading into black.
AN: Welcome to the end of chapter one of my version of a Fire Emblem Three Houses novelization. A few things, the monastery arc is mostly going to be the same as the game, while the war phase is going to have differences to the game. Also, "Your fate is sealed!" Is one of Blythe's critical hit quotes.
How do you guys like Blythe and Celine so far?
Stay tuned for the next chapter!
