The End Part 2

Bree's POV

"Bree?" I looked up to realize that I wasn't in the burning building anymore. I honestly didn't know where I was; it was so bright. I couldn't find anyone or anything. It was just a white room with lots of doors.

"Hello? Who's there?" I looked around again with squinted eyes as I yelled in the vast distance. My voice echoed back to me. Other than that, I was welcomed by nothing but silence. I walked around trying to find the voice, but all I could see was brightness. I looked down to see that I was okay. I didn't have any burns, scratches, or bruises. I didn't feel any of the pain that was there before. That's when I began to panic. I think I'm dead.

Chase's POV

"Come on guys, keep going!" Adam called down to us. We were running towards the burning building as fast as we could. Leo looked like he was going to pass out again. His complexion was pale, and he was breathing heavily. He grabbed my arm, in an attempt to try to keep up.

"How is it that Adam just lost his bionics, and is still faster than me?" He joked weakly. I laughed, growing tired as well.

"I guess we should've taken gym more seriously." I remembered when Leo and I had that terrible class together. It seemed so long ago, when really it was just last year. The only reason why we passed the class, was because of the written portions of the course. That, and Bree used her super speed to get us through the latter portion of the mile run. I smiled to myself as I reminisced over that stupid memory. Though it was quickly replaced with further determination to get to the building before it was too late. She's saved me so many times; now it's time for me to save her.

Bree's POV

My breathing quickened, as my panic rose. "Someone help me!" my hands were shaking as I seemed to run in circles. I was trying to search for something, someone, that wasn't there. I tried to open the doors, but they were locked.

"Bree?" the question was asked again. I turned around to see someone that I didn't think I would see. Marcus. I gasped in fear of my captor. He tried to come forward, as he saw me turn to him.

"Don't come near me! Stay away!" I yelled with as much intimidation that I could muster. He looked at me with as much shock as I did him. His eyes were widened as he looked around as I did.

"Where are we? What's going on?" He said with a shaken tone. I wanted to cry, but I couldn't. We both panicked in the midst of our own silence. In a split second, another person appeared. We both turned to see someone else.

"Calm down, idiots. We're dead." my panic turned into anger as I saw Douglas sitting on what looked to be a white chair. We both walked over to him in a fit of confusion.

"Well thank you, Captain Obvious. I knew that already." I spoke with a voice soaked in sarcasm. He rolled his eyes at me, as he picked up on my words. Marcus looked towards both of us with more panic than he had to start with.

"We're dead!" Now he was the one that looked like he wanted to cry. I just couldn't feel sorry for him; it was almost laughable. He sat down on the ground next to Douglas, and looked up to him like a child. "How'd it happen". Douglas looked down at his nails, and picked at them carelessly.

"Well, Marcus, like all outdated technology, you were put through an incinerator." I held back my laughter as Marcus looked at him horrified.

"What?" he looked towards me next, like I had the answer to all his problems.

"Well, technically I killed you when I hit you over the head with a chair. But we'll go with the incinerator story, so then you don't have to admit that you got killed by a girl." I interjected with a smirk. Douglas looked at me with anger next as he got up from his chair.

"You destroyed my creation! With one lame hit over the head with a chair. You destroyed everything I had been working towards for the majority of my life." he stuck his finger in my face as he scolded me. I got back in his face, not letting him have that satisfaction.

"It's your fault for keeping him alive this long! You didn't even tell him that he was an android!" I stopped myself after. Once I realized what I had just said. But then I realized that I shouldn't care; they were both monsters anyways. "Good luck dealing with that." I spat in his face, as I turned away and began walking towards nothing again. I was grabbed by the arm, and by instinct I went to swing.

"Whoa! Don't do that! there's no need for violence here!" I turned to see a woman dressed in all white grab my arm. I stepped back in shock as I took my arm away.

"I'm so sorry! I thought you were someone else." she looked at me with a confused expression, but quickly shook her head dismissing it.

"Just come with me." I nodded as she grabbed my arm again and lead me to an unknown place. I looked at her, trying to figure out who she was. She seemed familiar. I couldn't seem to figure it out. She pulled me gently to face her, as she began to speak.

"Listen, we have to get you prepared." this time I was the one who was confused.

"Prepared for what? For death?" she looked at me not amused. She acted cold towards me.

"You're going back." I looked at her with shock.

"What do you mean I'm going back?" she sighed as she dropped my arm to open a door. She lead me into what looked like my childhood bedroom back when I didn't need a capsule.

She began to grab things from drawers that looked to be clothes, or what was left of them. As I looked more closely, they were the clothes that I had on when I was last alive; blood and all. I shook my head, tears began to form in my eyes.

I was going back to where I was before I died. "No, I can't go back there! I won't! Douglas and Marcus will be there, they'll hurt me!" I looked towards the woman who appeared to have tears in her eyes. She grabbed my hand and shook her head.

"You have to. They're coming to get you; it's your fate." she dropped my hand and glared at the ground near my feet. I shook my head again trying to make sense of all of this.

"Who? who's coming to get me?" she looked at me with a faint smile on her face, as she tried to mask her tears. "Chase?" I asked quietly. She replied with a nod, and went back to grabbing what she needed to.

"Am I allowed to ask some questions before I go?" I asked politely. She turned back to me and nodded again. "Okay, we first of all, when I go back is it going to be like a sixth sense thing where I'm going to see dead people everywhere I turn?" I asked jokingly. She responded with a laugh as she shook her head.

"No, your going to be fine. As long as you don't tell anyone else about this." I looked at her with shock as a response. She responded with a stern look at me "Okay you can tell one person, but that's it." I nodded in agreement as I went to ask my next question. I sat on my old childhood bed, as she began to search for one of my shoes.

"What's going to happen to Marcus and Douglas?" she turned to me again, but still searched for the shoe.

"They don't get a second chance like you do. What you're going through is rare." I nodded again in response. She looked up at me, and paused her search. "Any more questions?" I nodded as I gained the muster to ask my last question.

"Who are you?" she froze as she dropped the shoe she had finally found. She glared at the ground again, and spun a portion of her chocolate hair around her finger.

"I can't tell you. I'm not sure how you'll take it." I got off of the bed and picked up the shoe she had dropped. A tear fell from her face as she set everything on the bed. "Now, get changed. You'll be leaving here soon." She left me in the bedroom, as she spoke.

I turned to the weathered clothes that stare up at me from the bed. I changed quickly so that I could take some time to look around here before I had to leave. I looked at all the pictures that were on top of the nightstand, and opened the drawer.

I found what looked to be a set of newspaper clippings. I picked them up and went through them one by one. "Three Children Abducted From Hospital", "Mother Who Lost Baby Dies From Labor", "Father of Lost Baby and Wife Commits Suicide", "Ten Years Since The Cradle Robber Tragedy".

I looked at the photos in each article. Looking closely at each family featured. One family had the woman. I dropped the clippings back in the drawer where I had found them, and shut the drawer quickly.

I took a deep breath to try to calm myself. From what I read in the articles, there were three babies that went missing; two boys and one girl. The woman who has been helping me was the mother of the girl.

Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted with a knock on the door. The woman opened it to reveal herself yet again. "Are you ready to go back?" I shook my head at her.

"You said that you couldn't answer my last question, but you never said that I could find out the answer myself." She looked at me and then towards the drawer I had just opened and then back at me with hope.

"You lost a baby who had the same birthday as me. You were one of the victims of The Cradle Robber Tragedy." She nodded with tears streaming down her face. "Am I your daughter?"

"I didn't tell you, because I didn't know how you'd take it." she looked towards the ground again. I walked up to her, and grabbed her hand. "You're taking it better than I thought you would." she remarked as she laughed through her sobbing. I was speechless.

"I'm so sorry, mom." I gave her a hug, as she wiped away her tears. She let go of me and led me to the closet door of the bedroom.

"It's okay. I'm just glad I get to see you now, and see you go through life just the way I always wanted." I gave her one last hug as she opened the door and motioned towards it. "Now, it's time for you to go back." I nodded and went to go through the door.

"I'll never forget you, mom" she waved at me as I leaped through the door, and braced myself for what was to come.

Chase's POV

"We made it!" I said breathlessly. Leo and Adam nodded, trying to catch there breath too. The fire blazed as it grew bigger. I used my telekinesis to try to put it out, but it was too strong.

After not being in my capsule for so long, the effects were starting to take its toll on me. I knew what I had to do. I turned back to Adam and Leo and shook my head.

"Leo, Adam, you have to go back. Get the helicopter ready." They both looked at me like I was insane.

"What? No! We have to come with you! You'll die on your own." Adam argued back to me. I looked at him in a hurry.

"I would rather my life than yours, and at least I'll die knowing that you, Leo, and Bree get to live. Leave! Now!" I barked at them. They both ran up to me, and gave me a hug as they went to go retrieve the helicopter.

Though my telekinesis couldn't put out the flames, I was able to make a path to where I would only get mildly burnt. I ran through the flames to each room until I was able to find Bree on the floor accompanied by Marcus's dead body in a puddle of blood. I never thought I would have to see this again. Not since the last time I thought he was dead. Though now I was sure; he was gone. I turned to Bree, trying my best to keep the flames from her.

Luckily, the fire had just gotten to her, so she would be okay. I used the rest of my strength to lift her over my shoulder and run her out to the unforgiving desert winds. I wasn't able to save Marcus or Douglas, but maybe that was for the best.

Once I made it out of the house, Adam and Leo were there to greet me with the helicopter. I placed Bree in the back seat, and went to the front with Leo.

"Don't worry Chase we'll get to the hospital soon." I nodded as things began to go black. Everything was going to be okay.
