"By the way, which movie did you watch last?"
🌀
They all started the class with a great hint of nervousness lingering from their heart, mind, and soul, as their results of physics were to come out. Mrs. Ahuja started calling names one by one.
Suhana was shocked when he called out Arav and Vivaan's marks with great appreciation,
Do they ever study! She thought.
She couldn't care less but she held her anticipation for Ruhi's marks and she was super delighted when Mrs. Ahuja patted her for her amazing performance. Now, it was her turn, she closed her eyes for a moment then headed towards the teacher's desk.
"Well done Ms. Sharma, you did a great job." She patted her head.
"Holy moly, I can't even believe my eyes!" cried Suhana looking at her marks. Her heart fluttered with happiness.
The two friends were dancing in happiness, till they saw the faces of Vivaan and Arav, according to them the two monkeys approaching them.
"Stop dancing like you two have won an award. It's just the marks of the physics exam. Not a big deal!" Arav said in a mocking tone. Vivaan started laughing at the top of his lungs.
Suhana was just going to come up with a reply but Ruhi held her hands tightly and indicated somewhere with her daunting eyes, she followed it and then found Drishti coming in Vivaan's direction. They settled at a corner for a better view of the upcoming drama.
Vivaan had a hint of satisfaction plastered on his face. Though knew that it was wrong, they couldn't agree more that it gave some amount of satisfaction to see them in this situation, after all these years of dramas and all they got here. So, it's obvious to them that there was nothing wrong.
Arav looked at Suhana's eyes, his biggest weakness. But again he would never date her even if she was the last person alive on earth.
He was out of his trance when he heard Drishti's voice "Hey Vivaan! Do you have practice today?"
"I don't know," he answered honestly. "Maybe I have."
Meanwhile, Ruhi and Suhana looked extremely disillusioned when they saw that Drishti did no drama instead walked away from Arav and Vivaan.
"It's so disappointing! I thought, I would see a good drama, but Alas! nothing happened," cried Suhana, dramatically.
"Yeah, it is indeed." nodded Ruhi. "But don't worry we got to meet Aditya. Come on!"
They put their belongings in their backpacks and walked out of the room.
"Don't you jerks have anything else to do without bullying people?" yelled Suhana at a group of boys studying in twelve who were bullying another boy. The boy was sitting quietly in the library as he got used to the name 'Nerdy'.
"Douchebag," Ruhi muttered angrily.
The boys knew better not to argue with Suhana. She is the loudest in their school.
"I am sorry about them," muttered Suhana pitifully as she and Ruhi sat on either side of him.
"I don't care anymore," the boy said, "it has become my daily routine."
Ruhi looked at him with a glint of sadness in her eyes. "You are far better than those douchebags, you know that right Aditya?"
Aditya, the protective or maybe too overprotective brother of Ruhi. He loved photography and books. One could always find him with his nose in a book or eyes on a camera lens. He, unlike his sister, was calm and quiet. His slightly black curly was always messy. His black orbs held the curiosity to know more. He was a free and pure soul. Though he regarded himself as ugly because of his slightly brown skin tone, Suhana had dismissed his insecurity saying that she would have dated him if only he wasn't her best friend's brother.
"Of course, he is better." agreed Suhana.
"You like reading and photography that doesn't mean you are someone people could bully," said Ruhi, "well nerds are helpful if you ask me. They are more intelligent and creative than others."
"Not everyone thinks like you two," said Aditya closing the book 'The Fault in our Stars' which he had been reading.
"They can't understand because," remarked Suhana matter-of-factly, "as Ruhi said, they are douchebags."
"So what brings you here?" asked Aditya.
"Well, we thought we could spend some time with you," stated Suhana.
"Oh really?" asked Aditya incredulously.
"Or maybe to some of the latest pictures you clicked," said Suhana sheepishly.
"Come with me." Aditya walked back to his backpack and pulled out some pictures.
"Have a look at this." He handed the stack of pictures to Ruhi and Suhana.
"To be honest, I envy your skills, bro," remarked Ruhi, flipping through the photographs.
"Miss. Sister," he addressed her sister, "you are not too bad yourself at photography."
"This is so beautiful!" squeaked Suhana in excitement.
"You can keep it if you want," said Aditya with a smile.
"Are you sure?" asked Suhana skeptically.
He nodded with a smile.
It was a beautiful picture showcasing an orange flower in a glass jar filled with water, placed in front of a glass window. Raindrops were splashing on the window.
"You are so talented," Suhana said while inspecting the picture more closely.
"Well, my pictures speak for me," said Aditya. "By the way, which movie did you watch last?"
"Don't Breathe," came Suhana's answer immediately. "It was brilliant."
"Yeah it was," agreed Ruhi. "you practically begged my parents to let me have a sleepover at your place so that we can watch it together but I have to agree it was worth it."
He said, "I will watch it then."
"Please do watch it," requested Suhana.
In the meantime, Vivaan and Arav were having their cricket practice after they met with Drishti's friends. Vivaan is the best batsman on the team as well as the captain of the team. On the other hand, Arav is a brilliant bowler.
"We have to win this match against Shine High School." The team was having their regular peep talks from Vivaan before the match. Though they were the best school cricket team in Goa, still they were very hardworking; improving themselves each day.
"We have to keep the reputation of our school, Cosmic High School. We have been winning every single tournament we ever played but we have to improve. So, let's start!" Vivaan ended his regular peep and headed towards the changing room.
"Lopez is the captain of Shine this year," informed Arav as they were changing in their cricket jerseys.
"No matter how much we hate him, we have to agree to he plays really well," said Vivaan while putting on his pads.
"Owen Lopez is both a brilliant batsman and bowler," said Darsh, one of their teammates.
"Don't worry. We have won all the tournaments till now, we will win this one too. Believe in yourself." Vivaan patted his shoulder before heading towards the pitch.
Vivaan turned towards the stand. The stand was mostly filled with girls who only came to see Vivaan. He spotted Drishti among them. He winked her, turning her cheeks a bright shade of red.
"He winked at you!" squealed Shriya in delight.
"I... I can see." Drishti answered with a flustered face.
Shriya broke into fits of giggles.
"When is the football tournament starting?" Drishti asked trying to change the subject.
She answered, "After the camp, I guess. Our school will be unbeatable as usual."
"Why?" asked Drishti.
"Did you forget about Siddharth Nair? The star footballer of our school."
"Friend of Ritesh D'Souza?" asked Drishti skeptically.
"How many Siddharth Nairs are there in the football team?" retorted Shriya.
