This is probably stupid, but oh well. A lot of people are going to be like oh, they're just characters blah blah blah. But that's not the point. Characters go through realistic situations that others do too, that's what makes them relatable too.

I want to defend Juliet. Some of her decisions aren't the best, but they are justified. When Juliet's mom died, she only had her dad. She was only a kid, but still. That stays with you and you have trouble trusting people. That's why she kept running from Jack. Not because she thought it was funny, but because she didn't want to get close to someone she could lose. She didn't want to lose Jack too, like she lost her dad. Juliet is not weak and she can be a bitch, but that's the character I created. She was the way she is for a reason. My dad left me when I was little, I've had friends leave, and I have trust issues. Mine are pretty bad though. But I just thought I should defend her, even if she's a main character. A lot of kids have had the loss of their parents and it's hard to get close to someone without their fear of losing them. It's life, but it sucks. And if you've had someone leave that you trusted, I'm sorry. You didn't deserve it.

Now I want to defend Jack. Yes, he's an asshole. But he's kind of a lovable one, despite his circumstances. I don't really see hate on Jack, but what I do see upsets me. I've been seeing comments calling Jack "girly" because he's emotional. Why is being emotional "girly" anyway? Guys get emotional too. And with the situation Jack's in, I'm sure anyone would be in his emotional state of mind. You'd want to cry and punch walls too, I know I would. It's not about gender, it's about having human emotions. Jack is human that's been through a lot. He feels trapped and like no one understands him. He's not being childish or broody, he's just misunderstood by everyone, even his parents. Jack clings to Juliet because she's the only one that's listened and helped him without lawyers being involved. It was mentally.

This story isn't just about the love between two characters, it's about a bond between two people that understood each other when nobody else did. It's a story about development and family. It's not a perfect story in any sense of the word, my characters aren't perfect, and the plot isn't perfect. Everything has flaws.

Sorry this turned out longer than I expected. I know they're just characters, but they're characters with real problems. You don't have to agree with me, but I just needed to say this. Thank you if you read all the way through, I appreciate it.
