Storms

Becky was laying down comfortably in her hotel room after a show

She was definitely ready to go to sleep from being out and about the entire day

Media, interviews, more media, and a show, all ran on well more than one cup of coffee (with a bit of spite of course)

She looked outside through the small space of the curtain and noticing it starting to rain

"No big deal..it's just a little bit" she shook her head as she brought the covers to her chin, closing her eyes to try to finally get some sleep

After a couple of minutes of successfully drifting off, she started to hear thunder, causing her to open her eyes at the sound

"It's okay.." she felt her heartbeat get faster, "it's not gonna get-"

Her thoughts get cut off by a loud lighting strike near the hotel, making her jump up from her position

She startled herself to a standing position, standing a bit wobbly as she grabbed her phone, backing up from the window with a little bit of paranoia

"I can't be alone right now" she whimpered to herself, biting at her cheek

She absolutely hated the fear she had of thunderstorms, she always tried her best to talk herself down, telling herself that it's okay, but the thought of something happening to her or anyone she cared about in a rare occurrence of injury or even death worried her constantly

Plus she's seen a few things.

They aren't so rare in her experiences.

"Who could I call?" She thinks, letting her mind make a list of people

"Seth?"

No way. Not the time to get hit on.

Ashley

"Trin?"

She's probably sleep already.

"Drew?"

I don't think his lady'll like that.

Ashley

"Sasha?"

Also probably sleep..

"Carmella?"

I've barely talked to her since my Smackdown days.

After purposefully ignoring the name ringing in her head, she decided to suck it up and make up her mind

'Ashley'

She bit her cheek, tapping her toe on the ground

She had to admit they've drifted apart a little bit

Since she's gotten busier and more popular with the common public, she's been at high demand for many things she wasn't for before

She had less time for them to hang out off the road and when they were both at a show, she's simply shy away from her

During times like these, she'd simply listen to music loud enough to block out everything, though that never worked too well

She became nervous to even bring up simple conversation with her. She didn't know exactly why but she felt guilty about their interrupted relationship

But she knew Ashely was the only one who could really calm her during moments like these

She huffed, unlocking the password to her phone and scrolling through her contacts

She let her eyes linger on her name before she tapped it, slowly putting it up to her ear

She listened to it ring a few times before it picked up

"..Hello?" She heard Charlotte's tired voice

"Hi Ashley.." Becky said quietly, "I'm sorry, did I wake you?.."

"No..you didn't, I got caught up at the arena and was just getting to bed" she responded, "did you need something?"

Becky bit her cheek as she glanced back at the window, "um, I-I was just w-wondering if.."

She didn't know how she was even gonna approach the question, she felt strange even asking her about anything

"Is it the storm?" Charlotte cut her sentence off

"Y-yes.." Becky sighed softly, a little bit elated that she didn't forget every single thing about her, "Do you think you could-" a second strike hits near the hotel, ringing louder than the last as she let out a bit of a shriek, nearly dropping the phone as she moved into the bathroom from the window

"What's your room number?" Charlotte asks instinctively

"I-It's 335" Becky whimpered, sitting on the floor as she hisses at her legs touching the freezing tile

"I'll be there in a second." Charlotte hung up, putting her phone away and getting up from her bed, fixing her shirt before walking out of the hotel room

Becky put her phone down next to her as she shook her leg, closing her eyes with a shaky breath

Charlotte squints at the light as she walked down the hallway, looking at the number plates on the walls until she spotted the one Becky recited to her, knocking on the door softly

Becky jumped a little bit before scurrying up to her feet, walking to the door and opening the door

"Hi, Bex.." Charlotte looked at her, frowning softly as she noticed her shaking a little bit

"H-hi, Ash.." Becky stares at her for a second before she was about to speak but gets cut by a third strike, cowering and covering her ears

"Hey, hey.." Charlotte frowned more before letting herself in and shutting the door, "come here"

Becky quickly wrapped her arms around her, burying her face into her neck as she teared up, crying into her shoulder

Charlotte rubs her back, closing her eyes as she held onto her, "it's okay.." she spoke softly, "I promise"

Becky cried softly, squeezing at her shirt, "y-you pr-promise?" She stuttered

"Yes" Charlotte reassures her, "you're safe now"

Becky attempts to wipe her eyes as she held onto her tightly, "please.."

"Please what, babe?" Charlotte continued rubbing her back

"P-please don't leave.." Becky whined, sniffling

"I'm not gonna leave you" Charlotte kisses the top of her head

"C-can you lay with me?"

Charlotte nods her head, "I can" she reached for her hand, squeezing on it as Becky squeezed back tightly, walking to the bedroom with her

Becky kept her eyes on the window as she cautiously sat back down on the bed, scooting so Charlotte had room as she laid back

"It's okay, Bex" Charlotte reassures her again, noticing how tense she got as Becky pried her eyes away from the window

Becky goes to speak but pressed her lips back together, latching herself to Charlotte for the second time once she got down as well, holding onto her with slightly shaky breaths

"I'm sorry.." Becky whined

"What are you sorry for?" Charlotte calmly messes with a piece of Becky's hair

"For not really talking to you in a while..I didn't mean to wedge us.." she frowns, burying her face into her neck, "I feel bad about it.."

"Oh, Becky, it's alright" Charlotte squeezes her slightly

"No, it isn't" Becky huffs a little bit, "I didn't meant to. I feel guilty.." She jumped again at the sound of thunder

"You don't have any reason to feel guilty" Charlotte furrows her brows, moving her closer to her

Becky whimpered at the sudden scare, "I can't help it, Charlie.." she frowns, "I feel like I just left you in the dust to drift our friendship"

"Bex.." Charlotte starts

"And I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, and I didn't want to, and the little times I was gonna try to talk to you again, I feel like I'd mess up again.."

"Rebecca" Charlotte moves one of her hands to her arm, "you never messed up in the first place. It's alright."

Becky moves her head up to face her, moving her eyes around her face

"It's alright..?" Becky questions, starting to relax, "are you sure?"

"Yes" Charlotte nods slightly, looking back at her, "It's alright"

Becky stops her eyes onto hers, tuning her out a little bit as she reached her hands for one of hers

Charlotte moves her eyes to her hand, moving hers towards Becky's and lacing their fingers together

Becky looks at their hands, squeezing hers as she started to get caught up in the moment

She lifts her face back up, swiftly moving up and pressing her lips against hers softly

Almost as fast as their lips touched she let the realization hit her as she went to move back but was stopped by the squeezing of her hand

Charlotte was a little bit stunned at first but she quickly responded as anticipated, continuing to squeeze at her hand softly

Becky felt a small wave of relief as she stayed in her position, the both of them moving apart from each other a few moments afterwards

Becky started to blush, moving her face back away, "..was that okay with you?" She whispered a little hesitantly

Charlotte chuckles softly at her sudden shyness, "yes, Becky" she kisses the top of her head, "it was okay with me"

Becky blushes more, closing her eyes, "I missed you ya know.."

"I missed you too" Charlotte smiles softly, "I missed a lot about you."

Becky smiles slightly, feeling the calmest she'd been since the rain started as she began to drift to sleep, "thank you for coming, Charlie"

"Of course" Charlotte let her hand go, wrapping her arm around her as she shut her eyes, "Anytime. Just ask.."

"I'll always pick up for you"

I honestly had no clue how to end this one 🤔
But I enjoyed writing it!
