Chapter 2. Love at "Love" Sight.

Half an hour later, the incident occurred. Cherry was in her class, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the professor. However, the noise outside caught her attention, prompting her to investigate, frustrated yet curious.

"What the hell is going on? I know there's a freshy programme today, but they don't normally scream like that!" Cherry exclaimed, looking through her surroundings.

The hallway seemed full, almost too full. That university was quite popular than the other universities in the area but it was still unusual for so many people to be sprinting in the hallway. Normally, students barely even came to the university.

Observing a group of girls heading towards the source of the noise, Cherry stopped one of them to inquire about the situation.

Cherry prepared herself mentally to talk to the girl. She was too fed up with the noises and there was no choice but to ask someone about it. But what have her a bit of relief was that whoever she stopped probably knew who Cherry was. "Where are you going?" She asked, her voice filled with curiosity and frustration.

"The freshmen are introducing themselves on the ground stage. There's also the star's daughter. People are going crazy," The girl replied respectfully though there was a hint of fear in her tone as well.

Cherry rolled her eyes in annoyance. "Ugh! Seriously? There's like hundreds of freshmen every year. Nobody gets as much attention as her."

"Well, not all of them are superstar's daughters," The girl replied.

"So what?" Cherry asked, locking eyes directly with the girl, attempting to intimidate her.

"You're wasting my time. Are you going there or not?" The girl asked.

"Yeah. I guess, I am." She replied, uninterestedly as if she was forced to do so, her face displaying annoyance and frustration.

Cherry followed after the girl, making her way to the front of the ground stage, attempting to catch a glimpse between the crowd. She felt suffocated between the crowd but she didn't have any choice. She had already made the decision that she'd interact with people more and try to get more comfortable even if she had to get out of her comfort zone.

She tried to blend in with the crowd but she still felt like she was too different.

Cherry always feared crowds. It wasn't until recently when she decided overcome that fear. She had to get out of her comfort zone to meet new people and talk and even though it tired her, she had to stay strong. It had been quite a while so she had gotten a bit used to more people. She had been trying to blend in but yet stay unique which wasn't very difficult as most people in the university knew her.

Cherry glanced around the crowd, slowly starting to get comfortable with people's talking. It was true Cherry was an introvert. But what stayed in her favor unlike many other introverts, she didn't have social anxiety. She was always quite comfortable Once she caught the flow of a conversation. Once again, she got irritated a bit. She couldn't understand if she was a bit jealous or just frustrated that so many people were there for a single girl.

"Too much attention..." she murmured, continuing to push forward. Finally, when she had a clear view of the girl's face, she realized...

"Wait, isn't that the same girl I bumped into earlier? Delllllll??" Cher shouted, searching for her best friend.

"If you're here just to insult her, you can leave. She's my idol," a random girl replied to Cher, hating on her. Cher didn't understand these type of people. They were always too quirky. There was no reason for people to like that girl that much. Just because her dad's an actor? What did she do in that? Besides being born in a famous family?

Cherry fixed her glasses and smirked, the sassy ness in her voice evident.

"Bro! Do you have any idea who you're talking to?" Cherry inquired. She was also popular in that university but unlike Lily, it was for negative reason. "And what is she your idol for? She's not a superstar. Her dad is! Kids nowadays..." She rolled her eyes once again.

Del spotted Cherry, waved towards her, and made her way steadily through the crowd. "Hey?! What are you doing here?" Del asked, once next to her and bumped her shoulder against Cherry's.

"Where were you?" The annoyance in Cher's tone was even more obvious than before.

"I went to bring us some snacks. What about you? Why the long face?" Del teased, her tone proved that she didn't truly care for an answer.

"This and that. Hey, Del. Do you know that girl?" Cher asked Del curiously, pointing at the girl on the stage who had a microphone in her hand.

"Who? The new, popular girl over there? No!" Del replied with a slightly suspicious voice, making Cherry question.

Upon hearing this, Cherry glanced around and then back at Del, her confusion rising. She felt as if her head was spinning.

"Do you?" Del lifted her eyebrow, asking.

Cherry got even more confused. "I mean, she looks familiar somehow. But not exactly..."

"Wait a minute. Is she staring at you?" Del observed the girl, trying to understand why, her concern evident.

"I don't know, but that's creepy..." Cherry admitted, a hint of fear in her voice.

"Is there anything on my face?"

"Nah, that couldn't be the reason why a random girl would stare at you like that," Well, Del had a valid point.

Lily's Pov:

I took the microphone that was handed to me, and glanced at the crowd. Why did it always have to be like this? Couldn't I just stay as a normal person for once? And that's when I noticed, and my eyes widened in surprise when I saw... Phi Cherry!! What was she doing there? She's making me nervous! Why? but I had to hold on, so I took a deep breath and began introducing myself.

"Hi, I am Lalote. You can call me Lily. I used to attend Parot school before and just joined today as a freshman. Thank you for giving me the chance to introduce myself."

- I was incredibly nervous, but I managed to get through this until the crowd started shouting, "SING A SONG" Oh no, I can't do this. My dad can sing. But I can't.... I was already nervous enough! Now this! The crowd started getting louder.

But I had no choice... The teachers were getting blocked by the crowd. They'd curse me if I didn't finish this as quickly as I could.

"Umm... Okay, so... only one song, alright?" No, I didn't want to do this. I didn't enjoy this! Wait, but what if I was not the only one getting stuck in this position? "But... may I have a volunteer to sing with me?''

Anyone singing beside me would probably be better, as long as it wasn't... "I volunteer," someone said, raising their hand in the crowd. I looked down, filled with fear, and of course, it had to be the person I least wanted it to be! PHI CHERRY!!! This is what you call digging your own grave! Okay, Lily, pull yourself together. You can do this. You have to finish this as soon as possible.

"Um, okay, come up on stage and introduce yourself." I genuinely hoped not to mess this up!

Seeing her come up on stage and so close to me after such a long time reminded me of the old time when we... No, Lily, focus. Get yourself together. This is not the time!!

"I don't think I need to introduce myself," She said, with a smile that could light up the world. Such a perfect smile she got!

But wait, everyone knew her already? Oh, yeah, she's a third year student... It's not a surprise! But I hope that's all the reason.

The crowd went totally silent once she and I started singing.

But wait, people began throwing flowers???
How adorable!
Wait!!!NO! My right leg landed on a flower and just then I realized how slippery the stage might have actually been. Before I could process, I was already falling to the stage.

I can't believe I slipped on a damn flower.

That's a stupid flower!! I was not supposed to slip on it!!
God, save me from this embarrassment!!

The freshmen were something else though! Instead of helping me, they were screaming!! But I'm about to fall! Wait!

"Be careful. Will you?" Who caught me? Please, no, Phi Cher!! Cherry's face was only a few inches away from me. But she's so close to my face! I would have fainted if this went on! I felt as if my heart was about to burst out.

"I-I am sorry." Yeah, I was stuttering again! Why did I always make it so obvious?? Why did my heart have to beat this fast?

Ok, at least I got up! I guess that's it, because I couldn't breathe!! This tension was too much for me!!

"Phi!! I- I think I sho- should go!" And here I go again!!! I literally forgot how to talk once she got close to me!

To Be Continued.....
