Cherry's pov:

I think I collapsed. I woke up and found myself in the hospital with Lily sitting next to me, crying while holding my hands.

Lily asked me the truth and I couldn't hide it anymore. She already knew something was up. I tried but I couldn't. She saw the bruises that bastard left on my body. If I tried to lie, then she'd break up with me.

Lily was shocked and speechless after she got to know the truth about my disgusting father! She's trying to speak up to comfort me but no word was coming out of her mouth. She looked at me intensely.

She finally decided to speak up, "Phi, why did you not tell me about this earlier?'' her voice sounded tired after sobbing for hours.

"I..." "I just didn't want you to worry!'' I lied again. I hated to do this but I had to.

"But phi!! This is a big deal! We need to report it to the police!" She tried to yell but her voice was too tired for that so all I heard was her soft voice getting harsher.

"You... can't report this to the police..." I replied seriously, looking at Lily softly.

Lily took a deep breath. "Why, phi?"
My baby was already very much tired and done but there's more to come. She's so sensitive, that's why I didn't want to tell her and hurt her.

I stayed silent. She stood up locking her hurt eyes into mine which made me kind of pity her, "how many more secrets are you gonna hide from me, phi?" She said with her voice shaking, almost about to cry again.
"I am... Just... Don't report it. It's gonna make things worse." I avoided eye contact cause I didn't wanna see her cry again. Whenever I saw her cry, I gave in.

She sat back down silently sobbing, pulling her own hair and I could see it in her face of how worthless she's feeling right then. She's probably thinking I am her girlfriend yet I didn't trust her enough to tell her anything. But I wish that was the case.

I just couldn't tell her about my dad. He's a... horrible person.

*Flashback*

"The door is open. Come in." Cherry got in from the door of a house which looked like a house straight out of the horror movies.

"Hmm... Miss Cherry. Come here. Seems like you're having fun after moving out from here, huh?" A giant looking man said to Cherry sarcastically. She stood in front of the door silently. "Come here!" He yelled.
She came closer. He grabbed her hair, pulled it and pushed her onto the floor.

"You forgot about the person that raised you after having new friends?" He shouted again.

"No, dad." Cherry said. Her voice was full of fear while she was still sitting on the floor hurt.

"Get up!!" He yelled again. "You dare disobey your father?"

Cherry got up from the floor and replied "Sorry, dad." she gulped.

"An apology is not enough!" He said as he pushed Cherry onto the floor again, pulled his belt out and started whipping Cherry's back with his belt.

Cherry flinched but didn't say anything or made any sound. She knew if she screamed, things would get worse. Tears were flowing from her eyes as she's looking down and getting hit.

"Did you learn your lesson?" He said, after a few minutes as he stopped and put his belt on the side. All he heard were little sobs and Cherry stayed silent but shook her head cause she's scared.
"Speak up!" He yelled again.

"Yes." Cherry said with her voice barely audible while still sobbing.

"Louder! Yes, who?" He shouted even louder.

"Yes, dad!" Cherry replied louder than before trying to hold her sobs back.

"You can go!" He said.

Cherry got up again and tried to walk to the door but she's so hurt that she's not able to. She still somehow made her way out the door.
She wanted to scream but she couldn't because he's still watching her. She then walked all the way to her house on her own with her back literally bleeding. No one was there to help her as it's really late at night.

She later called a doctor and got treatment for it. She didn't go to university for a few days but called Lily once in a while, hiding her bruises so she wouldn't get worried and come over to see her in this condition.

*End of flashback*

Cherry's pov:

It's the next morning. I didn't realize I slept through it. Still admitted in hospital!
Lily entered the room. "How are you feeling, phi?" Her face was numb, expressionless. I couldn't read what she's thinking anymore.

"Do you want to eat anything?" Lily asked, as if what happened last night wasn't a big deal at all.
"Lily... are you mad at me?" I asked.

Lily sighed, sitting silently on the bed. "Why would I be mad at you, phi? Even if I'm your girlfriend, you don't necessarily need to tell me everything, do you?" She replied, clearly upset. She looked at the floor, avoiding eye contact and left the room.

"Lily..." I called her name but she didn't hear me as my voice was still weak.

I guess I needed to choose between telling her the truth or breaking up with her. But... I just wanted her to be safe.

Another month passed. Lily and Cherry
were still in a relationship but they were not as affectionate as before anymore. They didn't go on dates, they didn't have cuddle nights, Lily didn't come to stay over on weekends anymore. It's like they were drifting apart.
Lily was aware of what's happening but she's just letting it happen. She hated liars. While Cherry was hating everything that's going on. She's trying her best to heal this relationship. And it's just pressuring her to choose between her relationship and her secret.

In the end, Cherry finally decided to just tell her the truth. Whatever happens next will be a problem for the future! All she knew right then was she didn't want to lose Lily. Cherry called Lily on the weekend around 11 in the morning.

Lily's pov:

I was getting bored, thinking about Cherry and kinda missing her when my phone rang and it's P'Cherry calling. I argued with myself whether I should pick the phone up or not.
Just when I decided to pick it up, it stopped ringing. I didn't want to call her back, so I didn't.

She called again after a few minutes and this time, I picked up.

"Hello, phi?" My voice sounded uninterested as I tried to act cool, but only I knew how hurt I actually was inside.

"Lily, I need to talk to you. Can you come over?" She said urgently.

"..." I stayed silent. I didn't know how to respond.
"Lily, please, I'm sorry for everything that happened but please don't let it end like this. I beg you!" She's crying. I thought I'd give her a chance to explain things. I didn't want to assume anything

I sighed. "Okay, phi, I am coming." I cut the call and wore a coat, leaving the room.

After around half an hour, I arrived at P'Cherry's house and rang the bell.

"Come in, babe!" It felt a bit weird hearing her calling me babe after a long time but it's fine.

I didn't know why she called me here after we've basically broke up. I was still kind of mad at her so I didn't try to fix anything but it hurts like hell when I put it out as the only one trying to fix our relationship back to normal was P'Cherry. I kind of felt bad for her but then again I didn't. It's complicated.
By the time I was thinking all of this, P'Cherry made me sit on the couch and sat beside me. Her eyes were already forming tears as she grabbed my hand and started rubbing it.

"Lily... I am sorry... for everything! You want to know the truth? I'll tell you! Just don't leave me!" P'Cherry's pitiful face was not what I expected. I did think it's my fault as well cause I shouldn't force her to tell me the truth. But it just hurted so much seeing her hurt and not telling me anything about it. It's just too much for me to bear.

"Phi, I won't leave you! I just want to know the truth and be by your side in your hard times!" My face was calm, emotionless but yet just tired of all the emotions.

"I'll tell you but... promise you'll tell no one about this, not even Jenny!" She requested and I nodded.

"So... About what I told you before about my dad... There's way more hidden to the story." She's looking down and I saw her fingers fidgeting as she started speaking. I lifted her head with my hands and locked her eyes into mine, my hand covering her ears.

"Phi, look into my eyes. I love you. I won't leave you, I promise! You can tell me when you're ready. Just know that I am here for you." I reassured P'Cherry, trying to comfort her down as she was fidgeting out of anxiety.

Phi Cherry took a deep breath and started the story.

*Flashback*

It all started when I was 15 and just entered high school. From my childhood, I'd always known that my mother died while giving birth to me and I was raised by my single dad.

Dad had been asking me to do weird things for a while then. Such as collecting random people's numbers, stalking people, even taking people's hair. At first, I just did what I was told in his fear until it crossed a limit when he told me to hit a stranger unconscious. This time, I refused and he started getting angry and furious as I no longer did what I was told more and more.

One day, I was out to the park with my only cousin. Do you remember Uncle Pin (Cherry's dad's brother)? Yes, his son. Once I came back, I found the door open, I entered silently. Dad didn't have any idea. And I overheard dad talking on the phone with uncle Pin. Dad was furious and angry talking to uncle in a very serious and frustrated tone.

Uncle: "You're involving Cherry in your mission now, aren't you?"

Dad: "Yes, but she's gotten too smart now. She's denying me!"

Uncle: "So what are gonna do about it?"

Dad: "Probably the same thing I did to her mother and sister, if she's that useless!"

That was exactly what he said followed by an evil laugh.

Hearing that, my whole life flashed before my eyes. I couldn't believe my ears. By that, although I was young, I was smart enough to get what he meant. And smart enough to get that my mom wasn't dead giving birth to me but my dad did something to her.

But another thing I needed to find out about was my sister cause I'd always known I was an only child. I quickly ran to my room and locked the door but I was clever enough to not let him know about my presence during the whole phone call. I also found out that not only my dad but also both my uncle and cousin were involved in this shit.

The next day, when he was out I tried to find information about my unknown sister. That's when I found a birth certificate and other documents. I checked and found out that I had a sister before I was born and she was also murdered by him because he wanted a boy to help him with his crimes.

After that, I knew I had to bear with him, at least until I was an adult so I decided to just follow his orders until then. But that's when he started asking me to do even harder stuff, probably having an idea that I was scared of him. I refused and he started hurting me and even sexually harassed me yet I couldn't do anything about it or tell anyone about it.Once I turned 18, I moved out on the excuse of university. I did try to report this to the police but he had already bribed the police officers so the police asked for evidence which I didn't have any.

My dad still keeps contact with me cause he is a criminal and I can't just let him go on the streets like this. Whenever he's angry, he still calls me, hits me and harasses me again to vent his anger. The police don't have justice for me. I have to fight this myself.

*End of flashback*

Lily's pov:

I was stunned. I didn't know what to say. I didn't expect her to go through this much. I saw P'Cherry still shaking and breathing heavily.
I came closer and hugged her. Cherry hugged me back.

"Phi, I am... Sorry. I didn't have any idea of how much you've been through! You're really a warrior, phi! If I was in your position, I would've gave up a long time ago." I rubbed P'Cherry's back.

She stayed silent and slowly tears started flowing from her eyes, she'd been holding in for a long time.
I detached the hug and dug her face onto my shoulder slowly wiping her tears, "It's okay, phi. Cry, let it out!'’She leaned her head on my shoulder, sobbing, making my dress wet. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder rubbing her back and chin.

Everything stayed silent for a while until I realized she was tired and was then sleeping on my shoulder. I slightly smiled at her bright face sleeping. I laid her down on the couch and covered her with a blanket. And then went to buy something to eat cause no, I can't cook.
