That afternoon, I had Emmett drop me off at home immediately following school. He said he had to rush home anyways. Something had happened after lunch but he wasn't entirely sure. He promised to keep me filled in and left me at home.

"Hey, what's the deal with the single Cullen boy?" Bella asked.

"Edward?" I asked, looking up from the book I had to read for homework. I was trying to get some stuff done before dinner.

"Yeah. He like stiffened up like I smelled bad during Biology and then he bolted the second class was over and he was trying to switch out of the class for literally any other science class when I dropped off my paperwork at the end of the day," Bella explained.

Oh fuck. That was all I could think. I tried to keep my composure.

"I don't know Bells. He's had a stick up his ass for as long as I've known him," I said. "AJ said he's the same way when I'm not there."

"Okay. And what's the deal with the Cullens not talking to anyone but themselves until you showed up?" She asked.

"I don't know Bella. Maybe cause I was a newbie too. They just moved here a couple years back and the townsfolk haven't always been the most accepting of their presence," I said. "So maybe the fact that they stick to themselves has more to say about the people of Forks than it does them."

"Okay, didn't mean to strike a nerve," she said.

"It's not you Bells," I said. "I'm sorry."

"Yeah, me too. For everything. I hadn't realized how hard this transition was for you so I'm so sorry," She said.

"Thank you Izzy," I said, running over and hugging her quickly.

"Might just take that back now," she said, laughing slightly.

"Ow," I said, faking hurt as my phone rang from across the room.

I walked over and picked it up as Bella made a joke about my boy toy needing me.

"Hey babe, what's up?" I asked, answering my phone and immediately heading upstairs for some privacy.

"Hey so Edward left after school today. He took off and Alice can just see that he's safe and driving. She's on edge which with Jasper being her mate, it's kinda putting the whole house on edge," he said.

"Bella said he was acting weird in Biology. I guess they are lab partners or something. She said he was tense the whole time like she smelled bad and then he bolted. He tried to get his class changed too."

I sat on the floor of my room, leaning against Bella's bed and biting my lip nervously. I tapped my free hand against anything I could anxiously.

"Yeah, thanks for that. We think she may be his singer," Emmett said.

"What's that?"

"Her blood sings to him."

"And that's different from-?" I stopped speaking as I heard Bella on the stairs.

"Mates, yeah a bit," he said.

"You'll explain more as you know more, yeah?"

"Of course babe. Go enjoy dinner. Try not to tip Bella off that Edward is MIA," Emmett said. I nodded before remembering he couldn't see me.

"Yeah my love," I agreed as Bella opened the door and mouthed that we needed to leave. I stood up as Emmett continued to chuckle at me.

"If you're just going to laugh at me I'll hang up," I said.

"It's not you. Alice heard you call me love and she squealed a bit," he said.

"Alright. I love you babe."

"I love you too Lottie."

"Ready now?" Bella asked as I pocketed my phone.

"Let's go," I said. We headed off to meet Dad for dinner to discuss my twins first day here in Forks.
