(Y/n) POV

I am in the training room in my Charmeleon form and doing an obstacle course specifically made for me by Tony and JARVIS. I have to dodge missiles, parkour, burn through walls, and leap over pit falls, it's a hard one but...

(Y/n): *lands breathing heavily* ... Time.

JARVIS: A new course record, 3 minutes 12 seconds.

(Y/n): *annoyed sigh*

Wanda: That was good though, (Y/n).

I look and see Mom standing with a tray of high energy snacks and water.

(Y/n): It's not good enough. It never will. I never will be good enough.

Wanda: *saddened sigh* Come sit with me.

I listen and sit down at a table as Mom sets the tray down then takes a seat herself.

Wanda: I know I've told you this almost everyday since I found you, but you are good enough.

(Y/n): How? I tried and fought my hardest against that Incineroar person and I failed. Now he's still out there with that dangerous power hurting people and I can't do anything to stop him.

Wanda: But you will, I know you will.

(Y/n): I'm not strong enough, Mom. I don't know why I'm even trying anymore.

Wanda: You have to keep trying.

(Y/n): Why?

Wanda: Because that's how life works. Nothing is going to hit you harder than life. Life will beat you down to your knees and keep beating you if you let it. The only way you'll succeed is by standing up and taking those hits on the chin and keep pushing forward. That's how winning is done, and you are a winner.

(Y/n): ...... How can you have so much faith in me.

Wanda: Becuase I'm your mother and I love you. So do all of the Avengers, your friends and everyone you've ever helped. The only one left to convince is yourself.

Mom stands up and kisses my forhead before leaving the room. She is right, I need to keep trying and when I see the fiery furball again, I plan to even the score.

Timeskip 3 Days Later

I am walking with Kevin to our lockers, Gwen then shows up late and meets us by the lockers. When suddenly, I hear terrified screaming, I look down the hall and see students running from something.

Kevin: What's going on?

I look down the hall and see Incineroar smash into the hallway.

Gwen: No way. How is he still free?

(Y/n): Evacuate the school! Go!

Gwen and Kevin start to run.

Gwen: Wait, *turns to me* (Y/n)!

(Y/n): Go now!

Kevin: *grabs Gwen's arm* Let's go!

I show myself to Incineroar and we stare each other down before the students clear out and I charge at Incineroar, but slide under his paw swipe while simultaneously tripping him with my tail. I skid to a stop on my feet and leap onto Incineroar's back, before I can attack, he grabs my left wrist and pulls me to the ground. Incineroar then lifts me up and slams me into some lockers, then throwing me through the school trophy case and the wall behind it skidding on my back in slight pain into the chemistry classroom.

(Y/n): *groans* I'm gonna feel that for a week.

Incineroar: *Roars*

Incineroar leaps at me and pins my right arm underfoot and tries to swipe at my face, but I use a stool to knock his paw away, then hit him in the head with it, which didn't do anything.

Incineroar: You didn't think this was over did you, boy?!

Incineroar slams his open paw down towards my head, but I manage to move my head enough for him to miss, but he then grabs me, picks me up and throws me through another wall.

Incineroar: You thought you could escape HYDRA! All they said was a small amount of your blood, but I think I'll just kill you and let the eggheads have the rest.

I finally had enough and enveloped myself in fire and transform into my Charmeleon form and leap out onto the desk and hiss at Incineroar.

(Y/n): Time to put you in the kennel.

3rd Person POV

Back outside, the police have arrived, Gwen and Kevin are standing with MJ, Barbara and Gloria behind the police safety line.

Gwen: *worried* Do you think he's alright?

Kevin: (Y/n) is much stronger than he was when they first fought, he can beat him.

Gwen was not very comforted by Kevin's statement, especially since she can hear crashing and explosions inside the school. Determined, she suddenly hopped over the police line and started running towards the school entrance.

Captain Stacy: Gwen! Get back here!

A sudden explosion stopped Gwen in her tracks as she watched (Y/n)'s Charmeleon form get tossed out of the building and crash onto the courtyard. (Y/n) struggles to get up, but collapses again, Gwen rushes to his side and helps him to his feet.

Gwen: (Y/n)?

(Y/n): Ow. *heavy breathing* I... I can't do it.

Gwen: I do not wanna hear that kind of talk, especially from the likes of you. We both know you've made it through worse.

(Y/n) remembers all the horrible stuff he went through as a HYDRA lab rat but he still found a way to escape. But then his fond memories of his Mom, his friends and the Avengers cause him to light a fire in his belly. And just in time as Incineroar jumped out of the building and landed not far from (Y/n).

(Y/n): Go back with the others.

Gwen: Are you sure?

(Y/n): I've got this. Go.

(Y/n) POV

Gwen let's me stand on my own before running back to the police line.

Incineroar: After I bring your dead body back to HYDRA, I will make sure everyone who ever cared about you will-

I had ignored Incineroar and swiftly charged at him, he was quick to respond with a Flamethrower attack, which I dodge and leap up directly at Incineroar. I use my claws and slash at his chest as I land on the ground.

Incineroar: Okay then, Throat Chop!

Incineroar charges and tries to chop forward at me, but I leap backwards and execute a couple of backflips before landing on the stone school sign. Incineroar tried again and again, but I dodged both attacks, then charged at him and our fists clash and connect. For a few seconds we struggle for control, but Incineroar smirks, this clearly confuses me until he manages to break the struggle, causing me to stumble. Incineroar then uses a point blank Flamethrower and hits me, sending me skidding backwards across the ground until I come to a complete stop and hold back the flames.

(Y/n): *thoughts* Now what?

Just then I remember something Tony said...

Memory Tony: The more damage you take and the angrier you get the more powerful your flames become.

I try to absorb the heat from the Flamethrower to reinvigorate my own flames and make them hotter. But it seems I've miscalculated as I start feeling pain in my body as I take on more heat.

(Y/n): *strained* Can't.... hold it.

Suddenly, I break through the Flamethrower and am enveloped in a blinding blueish white light. I feel my body grow larger and change as my temperature keeps rising.

3rd Person POV

The camera switches back as the crowd looks on amazed at what is happening.

Gloria: Is it me, or is it getting unbearablely hot around here.

Kevin: Think this might have something to do with whats going on with (Y/n).

Gwen didn't answer as (Y/n)'s evolution continues...

The light disappears and reveals (Y/n)'s new winged form.

(Y/n): *ROARS*

Gwen: I think, (Y/n)'s body changed to compensate for his growth in power.

Kevin: And he looks awesome!

Incineroar was unintimidated.

Incineroar: No matter how much weak people change, they're still weak! *roars*

Incineroar charges at (Y/n) with Throat Chop, (Y/n) simply roars back, flaps his enormous wings and accelerates instantly to super sonic speed as he charges for Incineroar with Slash. The two moves clash with each other twice before they land on their opponent, sending the two skidding backwards from each other. Incineroar recovers and uses Flamethrower, but (Y/n) flaps his wings again and flies in a wide, upwards circle around Incineroar as he keeps up his Flamethrower trying to hit (Y/n). (Y/n), however, used a new move called Dragon Rage accurately hits Incineroar as he lands in front of the crowd and roars again. Incineroar recovers and merely shakes his head and invigorates himself to keep the fight going. Incineroar charges (Y/n) with Fire Fang, (Y/n) too charges at his opponent, but at the last second dodges and flies behind the crowd and comes around and dives for Incineroar.

Incineroar: Let's bring you back down to earth.

Incineroar waits for (Y/n) to get close before leaping onto his neck and tries to drag (Y/n) to the ground. (Y/n) though managed to recover mid fall and flaps his wings hard and flies back into the air. He pries Incineroar off and uses his Seismic Toss maneuver and sends Incineroar crashing into the ground. Incineroar struggles to get to his feet as (Y/n) remains in the air.

Incineroar: Impossible. I'm the strongest one there is!

Incineroar used everything he had left and used Flamethrower aimed at (Y/n). (Y/n) simply responded with his own Flamethrower, the two beams clash and struggle to overpower the other. (Y/n) put more power into the Flamethrower and powers through Incineroar's Flamethrower with ease and engulfs him in a firey explosion. (Y/n) landed back on the ground, breathing pretty heavily, but as the smoke cleared, Incineroar was laying on the ground unconscious.

At first the crowd is shocked about the battle escalation, but (Y/n) friends start cheering for his victory. The police move in and arrest Incineroar as he reverts back into his human form. By this point, the Avengers arrived with SHIELD and Mom sees me as I revert back to my human form and collapse on my rear, she smiles proudly at me.

Wanda: That's my boy.

I am suddenly tackled into a hug by all my friends.

Kevin: Ha! Knew you could do it big guy!

Gloria: That was awesome!

Gwen: You did it! You did it! You did it! *laughes*

I breath a sigh of relief, I finally beat my rival, but as the Avenger's walk Incineroar past me I hear him chuckle and he says to me.

Incineroar: You think you've buried Project Pocket Monster? I was only the start, the worst is yet to come.

The Avenger's took him away, while I stood there pondering what he meant.

Wanda: What's that supposed to mean?

(Y/n): He means there are more people that can transform into monsters like me out there.

This raises a level of concern for everyone around me as the Helicarrier takes off. But that's a problem I'll have to take care of another time, until then, I need to train with my new form and power levels, but I promise I will not let these monsters bring harm to my city.
