EPILOGUE II.

Namjoon had gradually noticed the change in Seokjin as the day progressed. He had realized his husband was unusually quiet, weirdly dodging direct eye contact with him. It wasn't anything worrying, but it did nag a little at him that something might have been a miss, or something wasn't particularly right. It could have all been in his head, and he could as well have been imagining it, so he refrained from asking, knowing well he had been away for a few days, and Seokjin might have still been feeling a type of way about it.

He didn't think Seokjin was mad at him, more of; a little upset with him for having worried him so much, so he had taken it upon him to try to explain how the trip had actually unfolded. They had spent their afternoon cuddling out to sleep in the sound of the midday rain, sharing languid kisses whenever they would drift out the slumber, and delicately holding each other like they had missed the previous days.

Jeonghan had been occupied with his new toys, and aside from the occasions when Seokjin had left to feed him, shower him and play with him he had otherwise been in bed besides a tired Namjoon, equally looking tired for some reason.

Seokjin had listened attentively to him as he unfolded the events from the previous days, humming in acknowledgement and occasionally asking questions, but he had otherwise kept to himself, just strangely letting Namjoon do all the talking.

Namjoon was slightly worried that the other didn't particularly share with him how their days had been, it was a bit alarming that he hadn't been eager to tell the details considering how clingy he always got whenever they reunited. Seokjin was strangely calm, oddly just observing him with these heart eyes, longing and knowing. There was something about the way he looked at Namjoon that made the CEO question what it was that was going on in his head. He was just observant, occasionally staring off into nothingness, almost like he was spacing out, but listening nonetheless.

It made Namjoon squirm in his skin, made him question his every move, so that evening when they arrived at Solar's home, he pulled the other aside from the busy parking, gently cupping his cheeks.

"Baby, what's wrong? Are you still mad at me?" Right away he could hear how desperate he sounded, something in his voice that made Seokjin worried as well. "Of course not, why would you think that? Seokjin replied back, confused as to why his husband would assume that. He wasn't aware of how dodgy he had been, how plainly obvious he gave himself away by being in his world.

"Because you won't look me in the eyes, baby, what did I do wrong?" Namjoon pleaded for an answer, trying to keep his voice down from the little crowds of people who were entering the home. Seokjin hadn't meant to make him feel that way, he didn't even know he had been avoiding eye contact with his husband. The nagging at the back of his head had unknowingly thrown him off track, and when he was supposed to be happy and delighted with Namjoon, he was getting in his head again, thinking and thinking.

"Joon-ah -" He made to tell him otherwise, to tell him he was reading it all wrong, and that he wasn't mad at him, not in the slightest, but Solar chose that exact same time to appear, swinging open the door in a surprise manner, catching them off guard. Namjoon had to let Seokjin go, turning to the birthday girl who in turn waited for them to take in her outfit, doing a full spin while she shined out a smile, clearly happy to be in thee dress.

"It fits." She beamed, rushing over to give the two a hug. "You look beautiful." Seokjin commented, awe struck, proud of their work.  "All because of you. Nobody could ever make me feel this wonderful in a dress." She praised, gawking over herself in satisfaction, once more admiring the dress Seokjin and her had put together over the past few weeks.

It was a maroon one shoulder floral print dress with a free canopy that flowed over her legs. A thigh high slit rested on her opposite hip, showing off her lean beautiful legs, nicely done nails peeking through her four inch heels. Her nude make up complimented her face, her new blond hair combed nicely behind her ears. She looked beautiful, she looked happy, everything that Seokjin wanted for her on a day like this, and he didn't hesitate as he brought her into another tight hug, wishing her a teary happy birthday.

"So glad you two are finally here. Was starting to worry you wouldn't make it, most especially you Joon-ah. Thank you for coming despite your tight schedule." She knew of Namjoon being stuck at work the previous days, and she would have completely understood if he wasn't able to attend, but he was around and she greatly appreciated that. Namjoon waved her off with a smile, letting himself and Seokjin be led into the house that was already buzzing.

Namjoon glanced at Seokjin once more as they walked through the door, still slightly worried because he hadn't gotten his answers. Seokjin tried to smile at him as well, tried to reassure him with his eyes that nothing was wrong or off. He kind of wished he had told Namjoon about his secret already, that way the other wouldn't look so worried about him.

The party was just as lit as Seokjin expected. It had Solar written all over it, classy, but slightly slutty at the same time. The interior was neatly arranged with beautiful tables, high strung curtains covered the walls and the windows, purple petals littering the space, glowing in the huge lights that were hanging on every corner. There was a good share of food and snacks, accompanied by mouth watering drinks, most of which Seokjin wanted to loose himself in, but couldn't...

That had to be the beautiful classy part, because the yard was glowing in bouncing disco lights, few stripping poles, and a few couches filling up the space. A bar was to the right, a bartender serving away the drinks to the party goers, the music outside more groovy and sensual than the inside.

It made Seokjin laugh, that his best friend had kind of thrown two parties at the same time, one he wondered how she would balance out between. He was however taken back as Solar threw it back in her gown, quickly taking a shot before doing a spin on one of the poles in her heels, riling up the huge crowd.

She playfully took a bow, waving off everybody to continue enjoying themselves, before joining the couple where they stood by the entrance.

"I just know I am gonna get so fucking drunk for this one. Don't judge me if you see me passed in my dress." She let out, Seokjin laughing to himself because he knew she was dead serious. With the kids gone, including Jeonghan, they could have one full night to themselves, and that felt like gold. Parenting had proven to be tough even with one child for Seokjin, and he knew first hand the fun they often put aside for the sake of their babies, so when Taehyung offered to babysit all the kids for the night, they had quickly agreed, knowing the latter could handle it, and also because they needed a night out to themselves.

"This is so beautiful, your gonna have an amazing night..." Seokjin said, pausing to smile at the other before a thought came to his mind. "...and before I forget, Namjoon and I got you a present."

"It's not in the garage is it?" She tilted her head curiously, this bored look taking over her face, making Seokjin wonder if he had gotten the wrong thing.

"Did you want it to be?" He asked back, equally curious if the other had wanted a certain car and he had missed it. She however shook her head the next second, eager to clear the confusion. "Nothing like that...." She smiled, slightly shouting over the music. "... it's just that... Jungkook got me a car, he had it brought to my house and texted to tell me it was a gift for my birthday." She revealed as they walked back to the house, half rolling her eyes as she thought about the Porsche that was sitting in her garage. It did irk her a little bit because it felt so extravagant to her, almost like a bribe, something Jungkook knew better than doing.

That intrigued Namjoon to no end, the mention of Jeon always did for different reasons, and he raised a brow, glancing at his husband who looked strangely calm about it. "I get that he's trying to make amends, but I am not asking to be swayed with the expensive gifts, or the pampering, so, I am gonna return it." Seokjin knew all about Jungkook trying to make amends, and during the past year he'd been acquainted by Jungkook's apologies, and the CEO trying to repair their relationship.

He had forgiven Jungkook for hurting him, he liked to believe that he had come that far with himself, but he didn't know about mending their relationship. He didn't think he could be friends with him again, or be acquaintances without the past rearing his ugly head. It wasn't that he wasn't over them betraying him, it was just that they were still dear to him, and he didn't know if he wanted to showcase that vulnerable side to them. If he had to choose, he would have rather to forget, to just erase that part of his life that had Hoseok and Jungkook betraying him, but it wasn't that simple, so he opted instead to stay out of their business. He didn't want to know if they were together or not, if they were friends or not, or anything of the sort. He just didn't want to know, he preferred it that they were living their separate lives.

"Like, if you don't hold it against him anymore, then I am cool with him too, but - not that I am saying he's being dishonest - I am just worried he's buying his way into this, and if that's it, it ain't cute. Gosh, I am starting to think we shouldn't have told him about the party the other day at your house." She rolled her eyes once more letting out a sigh before leading back to the house.

Seokjin felt Namjoon stiffen beside him, and it immediately dawned on him what Solar had said, what Namjoon had just heard. He stopped, turning to face to Namjoon, who blinked back, tilting his head to the side. "At our house?" It was more than just the question in his tone, and Seokjin tensed internally as he watched the wheels in the other's head turn. It wasn't that he was keeping it, not that it was a secret either, in all honesty he had forgotten to tell him, but he could see how Namjoon would perceive that, or why he would have that disbelieving look on his face.

"Jeon was at our house?" Namjoon asked again, narrowing his eyes at Seokjin who only shifted on his feet, taking in a deep breath before  clearing his throat. Why would Jungkook be at his house, what could he have possibly wanted when Namjoon wasn't there, what would be so compelling that he'd come to their home, and wait, is this what Seokjin had been keeping from him?

Something in him boiled, shook at the thought of Jeon showing his face near his family again. He understood the apology Jungkook always wanted to give, and he didn't have a problem with Jeon meeting Seokjin those two times for that needed talk between them, but showing up at his home? For what fucking purpose?

Seokjin could see the fleeting emotions crossing over the others face, so he pulled him aside into the house, under the stairs where it was somehow private. "Why didn't you tell me this, is this what's been bothering you all evening, did Jungkook do something?" Namjoon rumbled on, wanting desperately to know what had transpired when he was absent.

"No he didn't, that's not it..."

"What is it then? Was Jeonghan there?" He found himself asking, something bitter creeping up to him. Jungkook to him was forever a rigid spot, one he didn't exactly know how to deal with. He wanted to give the guy a beating every time he came across him, business events, or classy parties, for the very reason that he had hurt his family, but at the same time Jungkook had been there for his son for seven years, he had protected him, and loved him in his twisted way, which he appreciated, but again that was as far as his gratitude went. He had been there to help raise Jeonghan and that was about it, beyond that Jeon he was a stranger to him, one he didn't particularly like near his family.

"Jeonghan was at school, he didn't see him." Seokjin replied, gauging the other other's reaction. He was not blind to how Namjoon felt about Jungkook, most especially when it came to Jeonghan. There was just something in his husband that was scared, sort of intimidated. He somehow feared that one day Jeonghan would wake up and want Jungkook. Or that a day would come that their son would choose Jungkook over his own father, something Seokjin knew would never happen. He felt bad every time, and during the past year as they went to their couple therapy, he had made it a point to remind Namjoon that he and Jeonghan were never going anywhere, that that kind of fear would never come true.

He was learning to grow from it, and Namjoon was looking to accept that such a thing was ridiculous, but occasionally he would get in his head, and times like these Seokjin could already tell he was thinking the worst.

"He just showed up at home when Solar and I were doing the final touches to the dress, he knew about the birthday, so, Solar just invited him to the party."

"What the hell did he want?" Seokjin knew from the low in his tone that he his husband wasn't at all happy about this. Namjoon wasn't one to get angry, and rarely since they got together had he seen anything get to him, so a part of him was apprehensive, a little fearful to get him mad. "He was looking for you, actually. He said it wasn't about work, and was hoping he could get in a personal chat with you." Namjoon didn't seem to believe it, not exactly Seokjin's words, more of what Jungkook had done. If the latter was really looking to talk to him  he wouldn't have failed to know Namjoon wasn't around in Seoul seeing as there was protocol and appointment making that he should have gone through. Seokjin however had been there, and he didn't particularly see anything wrong with it.

Jungkook hadn't been fooling around, and Seokjin knew he wasn't trying anything sneaky. This past year had been a turning point for the man, and Seokjin knew he wasn't the only person Jungkook was looking to make amends with. Perhaps his husband and Jungkook weren't exactly ever going to put away their differences, there wasn't any pressing need really, but Jungkook had looked to be trying, even with Namjoon, and Seokjin acknowledged that effort even if Namjoon was doubtful of it.

"I didn't tell you because it wasn't important. If he was serious about seeking you he was probably going to again. I honestly didn't even remember." He sighed out, searching the other's eyes who diverted his, taking in a deep breath, before pinching the bridge of his nose. He knew the slight insecurity that came with the mention of Jungkook, he knew of Namjoon's fears, knew how scared he was that one day Jungkook would saunter back into their lives and take his place. But still...they had come so far, they had done so much, this needed not to worry him, right?

"Don't you trust me?" He found himself asking, his voice shaking in the slightest as he looked up at Namjoon. He hated the thought of Namjoon not trusting him, not having faith in him or their union when it came to Jungkook or anything else.

"Of course I do, baby. I trust you with everything in me, I just don't like Jeon, and his ways..." Jungkook had vowed never to hurt Seokjin again, but Namjoon believed little to none of that, he didn't like Jeon for the obvious reasons. Seokjin looked up to him, half wondering why Namjoon was working himself up. He looked a bit tense in his suit, nostrils flaring, eye brows narrowing together, and lean fingers drumming incessantly on his waist where his hands were patched. He looked like he was a bit angry with Seokjin, something the other didn't like in the slightest.

They didn't fight often, but when they did it was about serious issues, things that threatened them, unlike Jungkook, who Seokjin was longing to forget about. Tears lingered about in his sockets as Namjoon went on about how he didn't trust Jungkook. It felt a lot like Namjoon was reprimanding him, somehow blaming him for allowing Jungkook the freedom, even more to show up at their home.

"You've been so quite, baby, you've been oddly avoiding me, like you don't want me tell from your eyes. Your running from me, and now this comes up -"

"- I am pregnant."

He found himself blurting out, a lone tear falling from his eyes as silence prevailed between them. Namjoon knew him so well, and even though he had tried his best to keep it, Namjoon had read right through him, he could tell from the very beginning that something had been off, sad he would think it was because of the issue with Jungkook.

"What?" Namjoon questioned quietly, his voice seemingly gone, just vanished from the few words the other had spoken. His ears rung, eyes widening as he tried to register the words the other had spoken. He could have sworn he said he was pregnant, so he looked at the others' eyes, heart clenching at the truth in his eyes, and the tears that were littering his cheeks.

"That's what I've been keeping, trying figuring out how to tell you. I don't care about Jungkook and what he did, I barely remember what day he came around. All I've been thinking about since you came back was how I was going to tell you. You looked so tired when you walked in, so drained, and I didn't want to surprise you with that off the bat. I thought I would tell you tonight, when it's just me and you, you know...I thought I'd surprise you with it. We are having a baby." He concluded, whispering the last part, hating so much that he had to tell Namjoon over a petty argument.

He had pictured the other hugging and kissing him when he found out, he had imagined them making love to celebrate it, but he had ruined it with this, he had blurted it out because he had wanted the other to see, and now that he could, he hated so much the speechless, disbelieving, self loathing look the other wore. He could already tell the other was regretting what had just happened, blaming himself, and he hated that. He wasn't mad at him for thinking or expressing his concerns, and no, he hadn't intended to make him feel horrible with the issue with Jungkook, but he just wanted his husband, he wanted Namjoon...

"Oh my god, I thought you guys followed me inside. Why are you both sneaking back here, are you guys making out, we agreed no smoochy sappy stuff tonight." Solar sounded as he rounded the stairs, coming into the dimly lit corridor, where the two were. Seokjin didn't want to worry her or dampen her party mood, so he just smiled nervously, although Solar caught on immediately, glancing at Namjoon who couldn't seem to keep his head up.

"What's wrong, why are you looking like your were crying?"

"I wasn't, we were just talking." He tried, smiling, glancing at Namjoon who only stared back at him guiltily, seemingly apologetic. This wasn't how it was suppose to go, his husband wasn't suppose to look or feel so small with this kind of news, god, he ought to be happy with it, with him.

"Fuck, it's that stuff I said about Jungkook isn't it? Oh, fuck me, I shouldn't have been so careless about that, I am sorry." She apologized immediately, disliking the fact that his two most favourite people had seemingly fought because of him. "We are not fighting, so stop with the sad face, told you we were just talking." He wanted to tell her the good news already, had wanted to ever since he found out just days ago, but he wanted Namjoon to find out first -they had been trying. Namjoon deserved to know first because he had wanted nothing more now than a baby, he had looked so happy these past few months with the mere mention of a child.

Namjoon didn't look like he had exactly internalized the fact, so he held off telling Solar for tonight, just until he and Namjoon had fully talked about this. At home that is, because this wasn't the place.

"Is it cake time already, I am craving, let's go?" Seokjin let out, guiding the other to lead the way, before he turned back, sighing out as Namjoon looked at him so delicately, gulping down the words that were right at the tip of his tongue. Seokjin took his hand in his, placing a gentle peck on his lips, he pulled back, smiling when the other remained quiet. "Let's talk at home, later." He offered, not giving the other a chance to dispute as he led him inside.

Namjoon wanted nothing short than to lift his lover up and kiss him senseless, he wanted to hug him tightly, wanted to hear those three words over and over again from him. He wanted to apologise for ruining it, wanted nothing short than to tell him how happy he was already feeling despite his stupid words earlier. Needless to say he spent the whole party on edge, worrying about how he had ruined it, and lowkey getting over protective over Seokjin. His hand stayed around his lover throughout the night, watchful eyes guiding each of his steps for anything that would harm him. It felt surreal, the surprise barely subsiding despite Seokjin warmly reassuring him with subtle kisses and loving touches. He just couldn't believe it...

They were having a baby.

That night when they got home, the silence wasn't anything painful or uncomfortable like it did whenever they fought, Seokjin looked to be in a rather cheery mood, and he gingerly led him to their dimly lit room, sitting him on the bed, before he straddled him in earnest.

Much to his surprise, his lips were captured into a sweet kiss, hands going around his neck, fingers tangling in his hair to pull gently at his strands as their tongues tangled together. He returned it with just as much ferocity, patching his hands on Seokjin's waist as he explored his cavern like he had missed these past few days. He felt a little apprehensive with how they had just had a little quarrel, yet they were already making out over it, he was a tiny bit skeptical about Seokjin not being upset with him after what he did, but nonetheless he kissed him back, bringing him closer into his arms as they pulled apart.

"Don't look at me like that, I am not mad at you."

"You should be, I am a horrible husband. Look where my mind went to when I should have been holding onto you. I am so sorry, baby, forgive me." He pleaded, closing his eyes temporarily as if finally sunk. They were having a baby, Seokjin was pregnant, and all he'd been thinking about was that nonsense, fuck, he couldn't believe for a moment there he had thought of the worst, of Jungkook waltzing back into their lives and taking his husband and his son from him. For a moment there he had doubted them, and he hated himself so much for that.

"No, I am sorry..." Seokjin replied, joining his forehead to his husband's, breathing in the calming scent of his cologne. "....I should have told you earlier, that was my bad. I am sorry I worried you so much, I wasn't even aware I was dodging you, all I was thinking about was how to tell you." He pleaded back, Namjoon capturing his lips in another sweet but brief kiss.

"I trust you, I swear I do, and I am sorry if I made you feel otherwise. I love you so much." He breathed again, still partly guilty for having even remotely made Seokjin feel bad. Gosh, he was carrying their child, and he had just thrown it out there with his insecurities with Jungkook.

"I love you so much too, love you so much." Seokjin whispered back, brokenly repeating it over and over again as another set of tears escaped him. It was finally dawning on him the magnitude of what was happening, finally settling for him that he was pregnant, he was pregnant with Namjoon's child...

"We are really having a baby?" Namjoon questioned in the dark room, a disbelieving but happy smile hovering over his lips as he looked at Seokjin. He cradled his lover ever so gently, the other too happy to mutter anything, so he just offered a nod instead, an equally happy smile on his lips as he looked back at Namjoon.  He wrapped his hands around Namjoon's neck fully, holding tight into a hug that Namjoon wholeheartedly returned, tightening his own arms around the other's waist, face buried in his chest.

"I was so scared you wouldn't return, so frightened that something had happened to you. I thought you'd left me, I was so worried." Seokjin snuggled in the other's neck, his fears from the other day plaguing him. He could remember how terrified he had been, thinking about Namjoon leaving him, about something happening to him that would in turn leave him alone, and pregnant at that. He could almost imagine Jeonghan again and what he had went through with their first baby, and he wanted to cry. He couldn't do it without Namjoon, couldn't do it again like he had the first time. He was glad he had Namjoon now, glad he would have the real father of his child beside him through this, he was happy that the man who truly loved him, and one he wholeheartedly loved would spend this with him.

"I hate thinking of how you must felt alone, baby. I love you so much, and nothing is gonna take me from you." Namjoon replied back, his soothing voice calming the other, his hands gently and lovingly stroking Seokjin's back. Seokjin threaded his fingers in the CEO'S long hair, gently pulling the strands back so he could look at the other.

He could still see the disbelief in his eyes, the incredulity whirling in his orbs, and the surprise that was yet to settle in for him, so knowingly he cupped Namjoon's face, pressing a long loving kiss on his forehead, before he pulled back, bringing Namjoon's hands that had been resting on his waist, to his stomach. There wasn't much to show for it, but a hard mass had formed around his lower abdomen, the subtle evidence to his truth, and he smiled to himself as Namjoon felt it, not surprised when tears lingered in the CEO'S eyes.

"I am pregnant. We are really having a baby." He repeated, Namjoon shuddering a breath below him as he finally took all of it in. They had been trying for a while now, ever since their wedding that had been almost six months ago, to their little honeymoon in Singapore that had followed. It had finally happened, and Namjoon in particular was thrilled for this adventure. Finally, finally he was going to get to be a first time dad in a lot of ways, and fuck, was he already looking forward to that.

"I love you so much..." Namjoon rasped once more as he fished for Seokjin's lips for another hot kiss, the other yelping as Namjoon turned them over, so that he was laying on his back, his head in the fluffy pillows, and Namjoon between his legs. Namjoon brought him into a rough kiss after, one he eagerly returned, his knees falling apart further so that the CEO could fully tower over him.

Namjoon peppered him in kisses, loving his jaw and his neck, wet and sloppy, to firm and possessive kisses.  His shirt came off after, Namjoon pausing for a second to admire his still flat stomach. He kissed over it too, over and over again as he professed his love to him, his gratitude to Seokjin, and his undying support for the journey they were about to take.

Seokjin cried himself that night as they made love, he couldn't exactly fathom how lucky he was to have Namjoon. He hadn't experienced anything close to this kind happiness, or the kind of love he was receiving from Namjoon. Sometimes it still scared him, sometimes he feared it wasn't truly real, and that he would wake up one day and it would be all gone, but today, tonight served as another of his numerous reminders that Namjoon was with him for the long run, was ready to hold and cherish him for as long as time gave them. Namjoon was here to love him like he had promised him.

He had the best partner in the world, the most loving husband and the most passionate lover, he had the most present father for his kids, and the most caring. He had the kindest man he could ever ask for, someone who loved him to death, who would give anything to see him happy. He had his best friend and his confidant, his soulmate and he wouldn't do a thing to change that. He loved Namjoon with everything in him as well, with each breath that he took, each promise that he made, and he was going to spend a lifetime keeping it to him.

There is a casual tone to this that makes me forget that this is actually the last of the last chapters. I was just cruising with this like it was normal chapters lol😂

Final chapter will do it though. Coming up in a few days.

Stay safe💜
