(y/f/n) - your full name

(Y/n) - your name

That was the last you saw of the gorgeous guy named Levi as you the bus drove away back to your school. You never went to AIE University but enrolled into a Business University. You had studied longer than most students, getting your PhD in both Business and Design and Media. You eventually lost contact of most of your friends and moved to New York, having been accepted into a well-known corporation. You worked quickly up the promotion ladder, having previous knowledge and practice at working a business back in high school, which also helped you earn a job quicker than most people. Finally working as Chief Assistant of the manager of the corporation, you reached the position you had always wanted to work at. You were quick and agile, smart and very witty. You came up with solutions on the spot and were 10 steps ahead of your boss, helping him manage his business. And obviously, as Chief assistant, you traveled with your manager to his meetings. This one meeting being very important as the corporation you worked at was collaborating with another.

You had smoothed out your black pencil skirt, your hair pulled back by a headband but flowing. Your white collared shirt was tucked in and you wore your black blazer over it. Grabbing your things, you walked out of your house and locked the door behind you before walking to work. It wasn't that far anyway and much easier as you wore flats instead of heels. After 10 minutes, you finally arrived at work, checking your phone that you were exactly 20 minutes early before 8. You checked that your stockings weren't wrinkled and walked into the building, greeting the other co-workers. You were about to head to your office when your phone started ringing. You knew it was your boss due to his allocated ringtone.

"Yo boss."

"Morning to you to (y/n)." you heard him chuckle over the phone and you smiled. "I'm guessing your 20 minutes earlier as always."

"Yes I am. I was about to head to my office. Is there anything you needed?"

"Nope." you jump when you hear your bosses voice next to you. You look up and saw him smiling down at you as you ended the call.

"Are you sure. You're not forgetting anything are you?" you look at him, a smug look on your face. He looks down confused. Taking out your phone you show him your calendar.

"It's the meeting today!" you nod. "I forgot-

"The paperwork is done. So are the contracts, and the presentation as well as gifts and refreshments. The meeting room is booked for us and I have allocated for the meeting to start in 30 minutes so it gives us time to get ready. I printed out a 5-year contract, a 10-year one, and a 30-year contract." your boss just beams at you, eyes glassy.

"You really are my saviour (y/n)! What will i ever do without you!?" your boss hugs you and you stand there rigid.

"You would go bankrupt." you chuckle as your boss lets you go, him rubbing his nape nervously.

"True."

"So shall we get going?"

"Yeah. I really need a coffee."

"One of the other workers brewed a fresh cup for you waiting at your desk where the paperwork is."

"Well then (y/n), let's make sure we get this collaboration successful."

"Sir, it's time." You stretch as you stand up, your boss checking over the presentation and the paperwork one last time before packing up and nodding.

"Boss." one of the other employers knock on the door before entering the office.

"Your 9:10 am client is here." your boss nods before waving them away.

"It's time for the meeting. Would you so kindly bring up Mr. Ackerman from the foyer to the meeting room (y/n)." your boss goes from the carefree friend to the usual strict manager and you nod before heading to the elevator. With your clipboard in hand, you enter the elevator, smoothing out your appearance. You wait until the doors open once more and you exit out to the foyer. You head to the registration desk and see one of your work friends.

"(y/n)! Omg. There is this cute guy waiting for a meeting." You chuckle, seeing them bouncing in their seat.

"You say that for all cute guys."

"Yes, but this ones different." You roll your eyes at them smiling.

"Anyway, is the 9:10 am client here?"

"OMG! That's the cute guy waiting!"

"Shhh, people are staring."

"Oops, haha. He's in there by the way." you nod, thanking them. You enter the room and see a man in a clean light grey suit. He had his jacket off and laying next to him, his legs crossed. His white shirt almost strained against his posture as an arm was resting on the couch arm, the other holding a teacup in a rather unusual way. You slightly cocked your head to the side, brows furrowed as you saw that he held the cup from the rim. He was facing at the wall directly in front of him, face passive and unemotional. His black hair straight and cut. You shake your head and walk up to him, clearing your throat.

"Ahem. Mr. Ackerman?" The man waits for some time before slowly placing the cup back on its plate. He turns up to face you and you froze. He was gorgeous. You blink and broke out of your revery whereas he just stared at you with wide eyes. "Sir?" You saw something flicker in his stormy grey eyes before going dull. You saw a hint of a smirk as the corners of his lips twitch up. He stands up and grabs his jacket before putting it on.

"That is me." Your heart couldn't stop beating at such a fast speed. Not only was this man gorgeous, but his voice was so deep and husky. You cleared your throat, posture still professional even though you were fangirling on the inside.

"This way sir." You lead Mr. Ackerman to the elevator, not noticing how he would occasionally stare at your arse as you walked in front of him. You clicked the button for the elevator and waited with the gorgeous guy standing next to you. You gripped your clipboard tighter, taking a step away as he stood close to you. As the door opened, you let him enter first before yourself. You clicked for the floor of the meeting room, standing in the long awkward silence. You glanced at the gorgeous guy for time to time, seeing how he casually had his hands in his pockets as you stood rigid next to him. Mr. Ackerman caught you staring and you quickly look away at the floor. Because of this, your headband became loose. You grumbled softly, taking it off and putting it back on. You heard a soft chuckle next to you and you blushed softly. The doors finally open to the new floor and you thank God that it was over. You walk out first and turn around to make sure Mr. Ackerman was following you before heading to the meeting room. Once you arrived at the door, you knocked on it to receive a muffled "Come in" as you opened it. Your boss was standing by the desk and quickly came to greet his client.

"Ah, Levi. It's been so long since the last time we saw each other." Your boss comes to give Levi a handshake but instead gives him a hug, surprising you.

"It has been Erwin. I'm surprised you didn't burn this industry up in flames." Levi chuckled as you head to the refreshments at the far corner of the room, making your boss's coffee.

"(y/n), please make English Tea for Levi." You nod, holding in your surprise as it was also your favourite.

"With or without sugar?" you exclaim.

"Without." You nod once more, making Levi's tea as well as yours but with sugar. As you were done, you carried the beverages on a tray, handing the coffee to your boss and the tea to Levi while placing your cup next to your boss. You put the tray away and sat next to your boss who sat in front of Levi. Levi had his brows raised, seeing your cup.

"(Y/n) here enjoys the same kind of tea as you but with sugar. She has a sweet tooth." Erwin chuckles and you glare at him before blowing on the hot liquid. Levi sips his tea before placing the cup back down.

"So Erwin. About the collaboration between our companies. I've decided to merge our companies." Erwin raises his brows.

"Is that so. Even without checking the conditions?"

"I trust you." Levi says, leaning back on his chair.

"That is fine and all, but what is the project that you wanted to use to work on together?" Levi brings out his laptop, that you never knew he had with him and turns it around.

"It has the same concept as our previous release, The Little Big Planet series but a spin-off version where players are able to create their own characters with the build in system."

"And this system would be?"

"The very same system that most CGI companies use but minimised with all necessary tools and integrated into the game." Levi clicks on the space bar and a trailer is shown. You gasp, instantly recognising the game. "And I personally would need to work with (y/f/n) here. Since it is her project." Levi smirks at you as you look up at him then at your boss. You look back at Levi, your mind in overdrive as you swore you recognised this person siting before you.

"(y/n). I never knew you and Levi knew each other, nor that you created a game?"

"This is the first time I have met Mr. Ackerman. And the game, it was a hobby I had when I was only in high school." You mumble, your voice going softer as you were lost in your thoughts. "It was a competition I think."

"It was and my university had the privilege to have it aired at an expo back then as well and have the very creator demonstrate the works of it." your head shot up at Levi.

"Expo?" The video ends with the credits rolling, the name of the creator being shown.

"I believe her alias name was Bubs?" You gasp, jumping out of your seat as the chair was thrown back.

"It's you! That guy from the expo! You haven't even aged one bit from then!" Your boss raises a brow at you and you slink under his stare. You slowly bring the chair back upright and sink into it. "Sorry."

"The same soft-spoken apologetic girl. Even from back then." You hear Levi chuckle.

"I apologise for her behaviour. Honestly, this is the first time I have seen (y/n) like this."

"Like what? Flustered?" your cheeks finally burn, knowing that you were never going to hear the end of this.

"Seems like it."

"So, my one condition in order for our companies to merge, is that i work with (y/n)."

"I do not have any objection-"

"Personally." you look up at Levi, cheeks still red as he smirks at you.

"Levi. If it was with the company, i would give you permission. But due to the fact that you want to personally work with one of my employees, i cannot allow that. Also that you would need their sole permission-"

"I'll do it."

"Is no one listening to me!?" Erwin sighs. "Are you sure (y/n)?" you look over to Erwin and nod. "Look, don't do this for the company. Do it for yourself."

"Do you really not trust me Erwin, your most loyal friend?" Erwin glares at Levi.

"Boss. Don't worry. I'm capable of looking after myself. You know that." You chuckle as Erwin remembers that one time you nonstop whacked a thief that failed to steal your purse. With your umbrella.

"I'm not afraid for you. I'm afraid for Levi." Erwin mumbles.

"What's so bad of two long lost strangers who finally get to know each after these many years?"

"Ok, fine. You two both i swear." Erwin sighs before standing up. "Since it has been settled, I will leave first. I will leave the decision of the contract in your hands (y/n) as it is your project." You nod and stand up as your boss leaves. As the door closes, you heave out a heavy sigh, leaning against the table with your hip and gulping down the scorching tea. Once again, Levi can't help but stare at your backside, as you clean up the teacups.

"Mr. Ackerman-"

"Call me Levi."

"Ok. Levi. Why is it that you have kept this game and essentially used it as a real life project for your company? A game that was simply used to enter into a competition that was just for fun and was unbeneficial?"

"You talk a lot you know that."

"Yes I do. I am an employee sir."

"Drop the formality (y/n)." You turn around to stare at Levi, leaning against the countertop. "Look, as crazy as it sounds, i saved the game for you." You raise a brow, ready to question the man standing before you when he cuts you off. "You're a talented person. I just don't understand why you would throw it away."

"It was just a hobby."

"Ok. Fine. I get it." Levi mumbles. "But that's not the only reason."

"And what's the other reason?"

"I wanted to get to know you."

"What-"

"I kept your game just in case we might meet up again in the future. As an excuse to just spend time with you. I was honestly excited that you might join our university, but you never did. I found out that you joined business and i wanted to know why. I had a feeling that you only saw gaming as a hobby, but i needed to make sure. For some unknown reason, i just wanted to get to know you. So after graduating from university, i started my own business just to maybe one day meet you again."

"You are extremely delusional. You know that." You muttered, the blush brightening on your cheeks as you remember Levi back at the expo.

"Look, we don't have to do this project together ok."

"I'm only doing this project with you for the benefit of this company."

"I figured as much. Look, as far fetched as it sounds, I like you (y/n)."

"I was only in my second last year of high school and you being in your first year of uni! How could you have feelings for me!?"

"The heart is the weirdest thing to understand. But i really was just trying to get to know you. Maybe we can just start over. Two strangers."

"We were always strangers Levi." you sigh out before walking away from Levi, trying to calm your beating heart. Before you could leave, your arm gets pulled back and your body collides with a warm and strong one. Your wrist was held in one of Levi's hand, his other arm wrapped around your waist and his head in your neck as your other arm was awkwardly gripping his shoulder. Your heart was beating faster, uncontrollable even. Levi hugged you tighter, bringing you closer to him.

"Everyone has a unique heartbeat. Just like everyone has a different face. Every pattern is different. There's only one person who shares the same heartbeat as you, its your soulmate."
