The House

Name - 4791 Boldhaven Drive
Species - Split-level ranch house, built by Jan Warner-Isadesu and Travis Chessie-Loutromonne
Nature - Slightly "magical" and uncanny
Built with maple wood
Structure dimensions - 20 feet tall, 20 feet long, 40 feet wide
Property dimensions - The property is technically 3 acres, but it is the only house for a long way so there is nearly 2500 acres (nearly four square miles) of entirely undisputed territory around it.

"The House" is where most of my main characters live. It is built at the base of a hill in a clearing, and surrounded by thick maple forest. There is a dirt road that passes it by, which connects it to the nearest town. The house has an unlimited number of rooms - to be precise, it always has at least one more room than is needed, and if multiple people wanting multiple rooms come in at once, then there are multiple rooms that come into existence automatically. No one notices these rooms being formed, and none of them is ever removed or destroyed by the house if it is vacated. Changes to the interior of the house do not affect the outward appearance of the house.

Layout - The house is a "split level," meaning that there is a small foyer which leads to either an upstairs or a downstairs. The basement consists of only three rooms - a bathroom, a boiler room, and open space for the rest of the house's underneath, with poles in various places, as well as Dresden's cot, couch, and equipment. The stairway up leads to a junction between the kitchen, the living room, and the hallway. The kitchen takes one half of the front of the house, and the living room the other half.

The hallway is the most peculiar part of the house. It has one bathroom (at the beginning of the hallway), and is built in an "L" shape. Walking down the hall on the first part, the doors that will always be seen are the following:

Left - Bathroom, Jan's room
Right - Closet, Kyoto's room
End - London's room

Kyoto's room is the only room on the right side of the first leg of the hallway. All other rooms will be between Jan's room, and London's room, on the left side of the hallway. However, unless one means to travel the full length of the hallway (say, on a tour, or is running down it for exercise), only one other door will appear between Jan's room and London's room. If one means to go to, say, Warsaw's room, the left side of the hallway will be Jan's door, Warsaw's door, then London's door at the end. If the target door is not between Jan's room and London's room, however, the door that appears is Moskva's door.

At the end of the first leg of the hallway, the hall turns to the right. From this direction, all the rooms are on the right except for the one at the end of the hallway, and on the left there is a window. (If the hallway is at full length, the window is repeated every two metres). The door at the end of the second leg of the hallway is always Lansing's room, and if the target door is not one of the doors on the right of this hallway, then the door that appears is Geneva's room.

Each room, when it is created, consists of a window, a desk, a walk-in closet, and a bed. When a room first appears, all of these objects will be on a regular human scale, and the bed will be a dog bed. However, once the house becomes aware of who next will use the room, everything is rescaled, and the bed will convert to whatever that person would want (a human bed with sheets and blanket, a nest of straw, etc). Each room gains a nameplate for whoever lives in it, but only after they've claimed it for themselves definitely.

These are the individuals who live in the house that are in my character lists, and where in the house they live:

Smiljan, in a room around the corner
Tengzhou, in Mindanao's room (a room between Jan and London's room)

Inuvik, also known as Nolan, lives in Asimo's room (this one is more complicated, it will be explained below)
The robots all live in a secret room of indeterminable size that can be accessed only by certain individuals. The entrance to this room is in the back of the closet, but with some reality bending it also exits via the garage door

Bamako and Joliette, in Lansing's room
Kinshasa, with Abuja
Kalamazoo, with Kyoto

Isuzu, in London's room
Tyrtomba, in Smiljan's room
Valencia, in Moskva's room
Tuzla, in Lansing's room
Howard Reuchlein, in a room around the corner

There are also some other characters belonging to other people that also live, or have lived in the house (at least, in the primary universe). They belong to other people and, as such, could possibly also appear elsewhere.

Characters of WhoRWeFollwing

Howard Armas, under the floorboards

Characters of Lucariolover1000

Marseilles, in London's room
Flame, in Moskva's room
Carter, with the robots
Sunda, with Magellan

Nolan also exists in this place, and lives in Asimo's room. However, if ever he is not in this house, Inuvik takes his place. Only a select few people are aware of this, and Inuvik is not one of them. He always believes Nolan's actions to be his own.
