The Avengers are thriving, protecting the peace and keeping humanity safe from dangers even beyond the stars, they need to recruit more and more hero's as they go through, after Thanos they lost a lot of their friends since then, they've stuck together and have built a connection together as a team, today's exciting for the Avengers compound though because they have a new guy joining them.

Cassie: You're the new guy, Y/n right?

Cassie Lang approached the young man as he walked through the door, apparently Y/n helped Yelena get out of a pickle and Nick Fury thanked him for his help, he's just a kid trying to keep his head down, he couldn't when Cassie approached him though because she might be the cutest girl he's ever seen...

... Y/n's a 21 year old guy that just so happens to have a special ability that he uses to help people whenever he can, he doesn't want people to know about his abilities though so he did very little, till he helped Yelena and now it's out there what Y/n's a "hero", he's not really sure if he should be here though but with his identity out in the world now, he hasn't exactly got anywhere else to go.

Y/n: Yeah, I'm sorry, I don't know who you guys are.

Cassie smiled to his awkwardness, she thought it was kind of cute, he is cute to be honest, even if they've just met, so adorable, while he stood there a little awkward, Cassie didn't see another member of the Avengers family heading towards him, she's a little more experienced in the whole hero thing then they are but she had a little trouble recently so she's pretty much stuck here so they can keep an eye on her.

Wanda: Ouch, that only hurt a lot...

Cassie looked from Y/n over to where the voice came from, Y/n just smiled when he saw her, he can be a fan of the Avengers even if he doesn't really want his powers, he just wanted to be a normal boy but seeing the one and only Scarlet Witch heading towards them made him realise this life might not at all be so bad...

... Wanda made a few mistakes recently and no one really blames her, she's been through a lot, losing her brother, then the whole Thanos stuff and losing Vision, it couldn't have been easy for her, so no one is worried about her doing it again, if she says she's sorry and okay then they believe her, Y/n barely knew about all that though so when she held her hand out to him, he was quick to accept.

Wanda: ... I'm Wanda.

Her smiled made him smile, Cassie smiled as well, it's cute he's shy but seeing him loosen up a little is a nice sight, although Cassie hopes he keeps the shy thing going, she can have fun with teasing him about that, Wanda didn't mind it either, it's a nice change of pace to have a different personality in this place other than confidence or a joker.

Y/n: Except you, I do know who you are.

It wasn't hard to know who the Scarlet Witch is, she's one of the better known heroes in the Avengers, Wanda's used to it as well, she's kind of shy herself so she never really went out and about but it's nice to meet someone that's not scared of her or her powers, before Cassie could show him around, someone came from behind him, wrapping her arms around his chest.

Kate: Hey ~

Cassie and Wanda didn't expect it, Kate's normally sort of quiet and keeps to herself but here she is just hugging the new guy like it was the most common thing ever, it didn't take Kate long though to break the hug and walk around to get a look at who she just grabbed into a giant embrace...

... Y/n doesn't know who she is, he's never seen her before in his life but she might be the most beautiful girl he's ever seen, however, when Kate got a look at his face, her smile dropped, it turns out that she's never seen him either and was left to just apologise for randomly hugging this guy for no reason.

Kate: Sorry, I thought you were someone else.

That made sense to Cassie and Wanda but they were both a little too busy watching Y/n's face turn from his normal skin tone to a light red colour making them all smile with giggles, Kate wasn't one to point it out but she couldn't not, he looked so cute when he was shy, Cassie and Wanda shared the same thought.

Kate: Blushing, that's cute.

That just made him even more red making the girls giggle again, Y/n's never really been much of a people person, when he got these powers he just kept himself out the way evenmore, so talking to beautiful women just isn't something he's used to, it didn't matter to them though since Cassie just took his hand into hers and lead him further into the compound, Y/n didn't argue as Kate and Wanda followed, they had nothing better to do.

Cassie: So what can you do?

Wanda and Kate were also curious about what has put him onto the Avengers radar, there's only 2 ways to do it, 1 way is you have something special about you and are willing to help others, the other is in a bad way, if it was that way then he wouldn't be walking around here right now, also Y/n doesn't look like he could hurt a fly so it has to be that they saw something in him that caught their interest.

Y/n: Umm, a few things.

Y/n remembers the day he got his powers, just a simple wrong place at the wrong time, a science experiment went wrong back at his Highschool sent the whole place up into chaos, nearly everyone in the room at the time gained powers, some disappeared, like literally, one of the girls was able to turn invisible, it was weird, others used it for bad, robbing ATMs, stores and what not, Y/n spotted them all though, while keeping the fact he is even a thing under the radar.

Wanda: It's fine you don't have to tell us, just know we're not going to judge.

Wanda slipped her hands into her jeans while Y/n rubbed the back of his head with his free hand, still not taking the other from Cassie's grasp, she didn't mind and clearly neither did he, even though he seemed to be doing everything in his power to take his mind off the fact a cute girls holding his hand right now.

Kate: Yeah, I don't even have powers so you're more qualified to be here then me.

Kate is really good with a bow, not quite the level of Clint but she's trying and she's better then the others so it's a plus, but out of them all, there's only him and Wanda that actually have real powers, Kate has a bow and arrow while Cassie just has a suit that let's her shrink and grow really really tall.

Y/n: Okay, well... I'm like really, really quick.

Wanda looked to him, her brother had similar powers before he was killed, speed is good when in a fight, Kate and Cassie didn't know this but they have read a little of Y/n's file and they already knew that, their just trying to break the ice and help him feel a little more comfortable around them, it seemed to work.

Cassie: How quick?

This wasn't really a tour anymore, they were kind of just walking through the compound while talking, there wasn't much showing him around even though Y/n can get a grips of what most the rooms are from what's inside them, the only area they'll need to point out is the sleeping area, last thing they want is for Y/n to walk into the wrong room.

Y/n: I don't know.

Y/n never timed himself and never really cared to do so, he didn't even want these powers, he wasn't even supposed to be in that classroom at that time, he just didn't want to go out for lunch break and the teacher let him sit in the room whenever he wants, just so happened a bunch of other students were fiddling with their projects during break time as well.

Kate: How don't you know?

Kate didn't get it, neither did the others though, surely at some point he would have timed himself or something but Y/n didn't, he never really wanted to, he never wanted to be here, to be called a hero, he just wanted to live a quite life and die a silent death, things changed that day, so maybe he should change as well.

Y/n: The equipment always breaks before I get an answer. I'm faster then a bullet, that's as far as I got.

They seemed a little impressed but the idea of him not knowing how fast he really is, is actually quite cool, they just have suits and skills to make them hero's he actually has a cool ability, like Thor or Spider-Man, they'll figure out how fast he can get, if anywhere can, it's here, in his brand new home...

It's been a couple of months since Y/n joined the Avengers and he's been working with them perfectly to keep the safety of Earth in place, however, in the most recent mission, Y/n got hurt, and badly, he was carried back and placed on bed rest since then, it's only been a couple of days but he's still feeling the affects.

Cassie: How are you feeling?

Y/n's laying on his bed when Cassie walked in, he's got his shirt off but that's because his abdomen got a real beaten during the mission, so he has a bandages wrapped entirely around him, making him hiss in discomfort as he moved to sit up, slightly answering her question when she walked into his room.

Y/n: My aches have aches.

Cassie gave him a small chuckle as he tried to laugh it off but it didn't really help, since he joined them he's become a really good friend of hers, she loves having him around, she might have even grown to care for him more then just a friend but she can't be sure he feels the same and certainly doesn't want to risk making things weird between them for a maybe.

Cassie: Thanks for what you did. If you didn't, I'm not sure what would have happened.

Cassie was on the mission, she doesn't entirely know what actually went on since she wasn't with him when it happened but she didn't need to be told, the explosion sent an shock miles around them, it knocked most of them on their backs but Y/n was closer to the red zone than most others, he's lucky to still be alive.

Y/n: Hey, it's what we do right?

Cassie smiled to him, she felt bad, maybe if they stuck together then no one would have got hurt, instead, she just leant forward and gave him a small kiss on his head, to her it meant a lot but to him it was just her showing her affection, so with a small smile back to her, Y/n watched her leave before getting comfy, or trying to anyway while he was, he got another visitor.

Wanda: Are you feeling any better?

Y/n looked over to see Wanda now, she's been taking care of him the most and he doesn't mind, she's great, he doesn't understand why people are worried or scared of her, she just wants to love someone and them not die or leave her, it's a simple thing to want, everyone wants that at some point, Y/n just wants to get back to his feet.

Y/n: I don't suppose you have the power to heal pain?

Y/n's spent a lot of time with Wanda these past few months, he's learnt a lot about her abilities and what went on a little while ago with the Doctor, Y/n can't understand what she went through because he's never felt that way about someone but talking to Wanda these past few weeks has made him feel something, he's not sure if it's what she's felt but it's something that he's too shy to tell her about.

Wanda: Technically yes but since you have electricity in your body, probably best to leave it.

While he was here, they figured out a few things about his abilities, like his speed, Y/n can run at 1,750,000,000,000,000,000 miles per second, most of them didn't even realise that was a number till Y/n clocked in around that number when they built him a machine that can withstand his powers, also it was a lighting storm fused with the science project malfunction that gave him his speed, so trying to heal him with the manipulate electromagnetic energy to heal him it probably won't work out the way it could with others.

Y/n: Thanks.

Wamda sat on the edge of his bed just like Cassie did moments ago while looking over his body, he has a lot of burn marks from the explosion, she didn't know what happened on the mission since she's still under watch from the things she did, she's not proud of them and is happy to live out her punishment, she's just happy they were so quick to forgive her, Y/n though had nothing to thank her for so it's a little confusing for her.

Wanda: What for?

Wanda grabbed a nearby cloth and dabbed it at his head, he's not sure why but it felt great for him, it cooled his body down while also just generally feeling pleasant, it's not great sitting here while the others are still running mission but having Wanda here has made it even more bearable.

Y/n: I've never had someone taking care of me before.

Y/n never had parents, he was orphaned when he was young, never really had much growing up, he lived in an orphanage, he didn't get much for Christmas or Birthdays but here, with these guys he's found something that he's grown to love, whether it be the people they help or Cassie, Wanda and Kate, either way, Y/n's starting to love the things he can do and the people he's around.

Wanda: I've never seen someone do what you did before.

Y/n chuckled a little, he can't really remember much from that mission, he got a pretty nasty concussion from the impact so most of that day is a blank to him, he did see it from his camera piece though, up until the explosion obviously since it destroyed the camera, the only one that really understands what happened is Kate Bishop, who has blamed herself for what happened walked in right after Wanda had left after giving Y/n a little kiss, however she kissed his cheek not his head like Cassie did.

Kate: I'm not that good at these things.

Y/n smiled to her as she stepped into the ring, standing awkwardly looking around while toying with his own fingers, Kate's not one to be all too interested in relationships and stuff but since Y/n saved her life the other day, she honestly feels like she has fallen in love with him, no one's ever saved her like that and gotten hurt this bad in the process, also if she does tell him then Yelena will find out and whined her up about it so she'd rather just not say anything.

Y/n: Well keep it up, you're doing great.

Y/n gave her a thumbs up with his left hand, his right arm draped across his bandages making her chuckle a little, she's never felt this way about someone before, maybe it's just going to brush over but right now it's not and she's stuck with these feelings, it kind of hurts but not as much as it does to see him in that bed like that.

Kate: You didn't have to come back for me you know?

Kate made a call, it was a dumb call and it put a lot of people in danger, if it wasn't for Y/n using his speed to get everyone out of harm's way, then people would have died, he just didn't have enough time to get Kate out either so he used a piece of debris to cover them, only it didn't and he got hurt, Kate got a few scraps and bruises but if it wasn't for Y/n it would have been so much worse.

Y/n: Actually that's exactly what I had to do. I never had many friends growing up...

Y/n spun his legs off the bed to touch the floor, he grunted and groaned in discomfort while Kate still stood there awkwardly trying to debate whether to help him or not but the last time she tried to she hurt him and she doesn't want to do that again, so she just watched till he sat there looking up to her.

Y/n: ... I wasn't going to leave you behind. It's what we do right? Keep people safe.

Y/n never had much, not just family but friends either, he was a quiet kid growing up and didn't want to bother anyone, it didn't get him anywhere in life but since he joined this team he's never been happier and he didn't want any of them to get hurt, this must be what it's like to have a family, people that you care about.

Kate: Yeah sure. No more soppy stuff. Get better so we can kick more butt.

That was the Kate Y/n's gotten used to seeing and it made him smile, while also climbing back into the bed, Kate has been acting kind of strange lately and he didn't know why, he kind of just put it down to the whole near death thing but it wasn't, it was because Kate was feeling things she has never felt before and it's extremely confusing to her right now.

Y/n: I like the sound of that.

Y/n finally had some time alone, it was nice seeing Cassie, she's sweet, really sweet to him and he loves being around her, Wanda's amazing, she's kind, caring and loving, no matter what the paper's say, his opinions on her will never change, Kate is the same as Cassie, she just doesn't know how to show it as well, Y/n didn't mind, he loved them all and it's not going to change anything...
