I came up with the idea for Outsider Syndrome (OS) back in 2018 but I didn't get to work on it until 2020–2021. I'd never written a tall main character before. Plus, I love harems so obviouslyyy it had to be one. Pinterest also helped me cement ideas for all the characters and gave me ideas for many scenes. When I actually started writing the story, it turned into something way different from my original idea. Regardless, I loved this story. I neglected pretty much all my others at the time I was working on it but I have no regrets. I've never had a book be as easy and enjoyable to write as this one was and it's a shame that it ended TvT

I wrote the whole book (~150,000 words) in the timespan of 6 months. I have no clue what sorcery possessed me (likely a mixture of online school b/c of the pandemic and really, really enjoying this story), but it'll never happen again lol. I know I write a lot but even this was a personal record.

For the separate endings, my original plan was to have them take place years in the future (time skip to them as adults—a proper "happily ever after") and I did write them. But I changed my mind at the last minute because they were a lot harder to write than they should've been. So that's why I rewrote them and instead did a "happy for now," with much smaller time skips. Honestly, I like them a lot better too. Lesson Learned: Always listen to your gut.

Leon was supposed to be one of the main love interests but he ended up as a random side character instead. It was a waste, so I wrote him his own ending utilizing all my original ideas.

^^ Ironically, Narumi was supposed to be a minor side character. Definitely didn't expect him to become as prominent to the plot as he did. Of course, I'm not complaining (^-^)/

There was supposed to be another character alongside the main love interests who also didn't make the cut. He had chūnibyo like Shiina's sister Mao and was quite the eccentric. I'll likely use him for another story one day. Hopefully? Maybe? We'll see.
