Anakin is known as the chosen one, the one to being balance to the force both the light and the dark. Anakin was never officially given the rank of Jedi master, but he was looked upon in that rank. Anakin was a council member before the fall of the republic but Skywalker was reason the republic came to it's knees. Skywalker fell in love and broke the Jedi codes and married Senator Padmé Amidala,

Former Queen of the Naboo system.

After the rise of the empire, Skywalker took on the name Darth Vader and because a legendary Jedi Killing Machine. Half man and half robot and no heart. Or so they thought.

19 years after the rise of the empire Luke Skywalker, Anakin's son came to fight him.

Trained to be a Jedi Luke was able to lift the dark's grip on his father and free him from the dark side of the force.

      In life Skywalker was one of the most gifted Jedi and the best Pilot in the Grand Army of the Republic.

And one of the few humans to Fly a Podracer.

He was Master Obi-Wan Kenobi's first apprentice and became just as legendary as his master, but never as strong as master Kenobi. For Obi-Wan did defeat him in a lightsaber battle on Mustafar.

Because as Obi-Wan said to Darth maul.

In the end Skywalker was bested by a remarkable Jedi master who never strayed from his path. (Ya I'm all for team Kenobi)
