Spoilers for stort, chapters 27 and 28.

In said chapters, I revealed that Kuro was in fact Kira's brother who she thought died in the fire that burnt down her home in Nagoya with her parents.

Kuro's origin is that he was kidnapped by Nightmare along with his parents.

So the narrative now is that Nightmare kidnapped Kira's family, she has no idea and still believes they're all dead. Kuro is Kira's brother who escaped, and now eight years later they're reunited, not as Himiko and Tadashi but as Kira Kuro who don't recognize each other.

In the two chapters they are still yet to realize that, I only dropped the bomb to give readers questions.
