Chapter 2
"Here we are guys! Hope you like it, it was the biggest house I could find for not that much expense. It will be almost completely covered by my ambassador role." Frisk stated as we walked into our new house. She stood at the front of the group gesturing hugely with a proud grin on her face. She seemed very happy to have done something for the people she loved...
The house itself has 2 floors, is light blue with a yellow trimming. With a dark oak roof to top it off. The roof was Frisk's favorite part, she said it makes it more homely feeling.
I looked around. We were standing in a living room. Directly on the left wall there was a staircase leading up to the second floor. At the back of the room there was a flat screen, and blue couch a bit in front of it. In the middle there was a small table and a couple of chairs. There was a fan on the ceiling with a light in the middle, which had a rose design. I think Frisk had those specially made. Toriel really took a liking to them.
"Okay so this is the living room, to the left is the staircase that leads up to all eight bedrooms. To the right there is a hallway that breaks off into a kitchen, dining room and bathroom." Frisk beamed.
"WOWIE! I LOVE IT FRISK!! SANS! CAN I GO LOOK AT MY ROOM?" Papyrus asked excitedly.
"Sure Paps. Frisk already has all your stuff in there. Even you car bed."
"REALLY! THANK YOU FRISK! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM VERY HAPPY HERE!" Papyrus called, bouncing away up the stairs.
"Welp. Better go with him. And nice goin' kid." Sans winked at Frisk before walking towards the kitchen.
"Haha, Sans, what a punk. And yeah, this is pretty cool wimp. Thanks. Alphy, wanna go check out our room?" Alphys blushed deeply before Undyne bent down giving her a kiss. I saw Frisk smiling, and I caught myself smiling just the slightest bit as well.
"Race ya." Undyne grinned running up the stairs. Alphys rolled her eyes and looked towards Frisk.
"T-Thanks Frisk. I better go catch up to her b-before she destroys our room."
"Oh yeah!! Swords!!" We heard Undyne call from upstairs. Alphys happily sighed, going up the stairs.
"Oh darlings, can I share a room with that handsome hunk of skeleton Papyrus?" Mettaton asked waving, I assumed to be his, hands in the air.
Suddenly Sans appeared, his eye glowing blue. He stood directly in front of Mettaton.
"Not unless you wanna have a bad time, pal." He growled before quickly disappearing again.
"Oh my my my, Sans has to understand one day Papyrus and I will date. It is fate! We will be the most famous couple on the Surface!" Mettaton glamoured.
I walked up to Frisk, giving her an awkward stare. Mettaton was much more... flirty, than I remembered.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to him." She whispered to me. I nodded, surprised how well she could read my faces.
"Mettaton, that is not very appropriate." Toriel said, using the classic motherly tone.
"Sweetie, we've all done it before." He winked. I could feel my face blush pinker than usual. I'm still... a virgin.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Frisk blush a deep red as well. Asgore snickered, and Toriel was appalled.
"Why Mettaton! How rude of you! That is a very inappropriate and outrageous comment!" Toriel bursted. I've never her seen her this angry and upset.
"Oh Toriel, darling. You need to learn to have a little fun." He said swerving his hips.
"I think, I've had enough fun." She scolded. Mettaton's hips came to a slow.
"Um... I am going, to check my room." Mettaton said, getting intimidated. He quickly went the stairs, escaping more of Toriel's wrath.
"Haha.." I laughed. Frisk looked at me.
"That's the first time you genuinely laughed out loud!" She grinned.
"Aw, I did. That sucks." I smiled, teasing her a little.
Toriel turned to face us, calming down a little bit.
"I'm sorry you had to see me like that, my children."
"Haha, it's okay Mom." Frisk said.
"And as for you, Mr. Dreemur." Toriel said shooting Asgore a strong glare.
"Well, thank you Frisk. I shall be attending to my room, then." He said avoiding Toriel's eyes. He awkwardly walked past Toriel and up to his room. I smiled, Toriel was badass when she tried.
"Well, I guess I will go to my room as well. Thank you again, my child." She said as she took Frisk's hand.
"You're welcome, Mom."
"And Chara, I have missed you so." Toriel bent down and gave me one more hug, before smiling and heading to her room.
"That went well!" Frisk beamed, turning to me.
"Yeah, thanks too... by the way. It's a pretty cool house." I replied. It was pretty amazing she did all this for us.
"Oh also, I couldn't find a house with another room. So we will have to share, unless you want me to sleep on the couch, because I am okay with that." Oh my god, she is so nice. I don't understand how it comes so easily to her.
"No! I'm fine with sharing. If you are okay with sharing with me."
"I-If you trust me." I added looking down. I understood if she didn't. I wouldn't mind sleeping on the couch.
"Chara, of course I trust you." She smiled. I looked up to her. I felt an overwhelming sensation of happiness. I would make sure she was right to put that kind of trust in me.
I felt the back of my eyes burn, but I sucked it up, avoiding looking too emotional.
"I know it's only been a few weeks, so if you're still getting used to being around a lot of people, I understand. Just know you can tell me anything... though that might be difficult for you right now." Even with the lights her blue eyes were illuminating as she spoke.
"Thanks." I answered, my voice wavering a little. This was a whole new experience for me, my thoughts were clouding my brain. All I knew was I was kind of thankful she saved me...
---
"Which bed do you want?" Frisk asked stepping into our room. The beds were small, and on opposite sides of the room. I looked around. The ceiling was white with a round light in the middle.
The walls were dark blue and filled with random drawings and other posters Frisk must've put up.
There was a bedside table at each bed, a window at the end of the room along with a desk and a computer.
"Um, I'll take the right side." I said walking over and laying on the bed. It was a lot more comfortable than I expected.
"Okay! I'll take the left then. Also, don't tell the others about our computer. I need it for some ambassador stuff, but I also thought we could use it for some games and other random things." She smiled.
"You're a sneaky Frisk, I like it." I grinned. Frisk, at the moment, is the only person I actually feel comfortable around. She has really shown her personality towards me, joking around and being overly kind.
"Haha, thanks." She laughed.
"So... how are you feeling about everything?" She asked, a serious tone in her voice.
I sighed, not sure what to say. Realistically, I was kind of... happy. But at the same time, everything was changing so quickly.
"I'm... I'm h-happy..." I said nervously. This was all too good for it to be real. Someday she will no longer forgive me, and everything will be reset.
"Aw, Chara." She smiled walking over to my bed. I sat up making room for her. Frisk gently sat down next to me and looked at me.
"I'm really happy you came, Chara. You don't deserve to be alone."
"Heh... Thanks, Frisk." I said with a side smile. I meant that sincerely, she did so much for me. Although that created a whole new list of fears for me, in the time being it seemed to be worth it.
"You don't have to keep thanking me." She giggled.
"I mean, I was trying to be nice. But sure, no thanks Frisk." I added sarcastically. She laughed before getting up and heading towards the door.
"You're so annoying sometimes Chara." She grinned.
"I know." I smirked.
"Where you going?" I asked as she opened the door.
"I'm just going to check on the others, make sure they are all settled and such." She replied, leaving the room.
I laid back on my bed, sighing with relief. I smiled slightly, still in awe of what had happened.
---
I scrolled through UnderNet on the new phone Alphys gave me. It was pretty big, but it had awesome features. Frisk did the same as we waited for dinner to be cooked.
"Chara, does it make sense that UnderNet stays UnderNet? Are no other humans allowed to use it, or do you think they are going to change the name of it?"
I laughed out loud, she thinks of the weirdest things.
"What?" She asked acknowledging my laugh.
"You literally think of the strangest things." I answered. She laughed too.
"Well, I want to know! It's a very serious question, Chara." She joked.
"Haha, very serious indeed."
Our laughs died down and it was quiet. I continued scrolling through my feed when Frisk whined,
"Chara! You didn't answer my question!"
"You're still thinking about that?!" I exclaimed looking towards her.
"Well, you didn't answer" She answer matter of factly. I snickered.
"I don't know. Maybe other people will join, but I don't think they would anyways. They have the sites called BookFace, and Instaphoto. I saw them in the App Store." I answered.
"Does that satisfy the answer requirement?" I smirked.
"Yes. Thank you." She laughed.
"Hm, I might get those. Are you going to get them, Chara?"
"I don't think so. There would be no one I knew on it. I think it is for all humans." I responded.
"True, but maybe monsters could join!"
"Um... I don't know about that Frisk. Not all the humans are happy about the monsters coming back up to the Surface." I said shyly. I didn't want to break her spirits, but I didn't want her to find out any other way.
"Oh, I guess that makes sense." Her mood dimmed as she looked back up to her phone. She let out a long sigh.
"But Frisk, you did the right thing." I quickly added, trying to cheer her up.
"I hope so." She answered weakly.
"No 'hope so'. You did so. Don't let other humans bring you down because you are selfless while they are selfish." I said determined. She looked back towards me.
"Thanks, Chara." She smiled.
"No pro-" Suddenly the door burst open.
"NYEHEYEH! THE GREAT PAPYRUS' SPAGEHTTI HAS BEEN COMPLETED!" Papyrus cut me off.
"Yay, thanks Papyrus." Frisk said standing up.
"YOU ARE INDEED WELCOME HUMANS!" He added, overwhelmed with joy.
"Papryus, just remember, especially since we are girls, you need to kno-" Frisk sent me a glare, causing me to stop.
"WELL. WHAT IS IT HUMAN?"
"Heh, nothing Papyrus." He shot me a confusing glance before being replaced yet again with his proud grin.
"OKAY HUMAN! COME DOWNSTAIRS WHENEVER YOU ARE READY!" He slammed the door shut and continued to make his way down the hall.
"Frisk! He needs to learn to knock, what if we were changing or something." I murmured.
"That's why we have a lock. When it comes to Papryus just don't mind the things he does." She answered. I sighed, and nodded in agreement.
"Okay good. Well let's head to dinner then." She smiled walking out the door. I turned off the lights and followed behind her.
The spaghetti was kind of cold and hard, but I didn't say anything.
"Papyrus, this spaghetti is awesome." Undyne smiled, eating another bite. She was very protective over him.
"WHY THANK YOU UNDYNE! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, USED YOUR NEW SAUCE RECIPE!" The sauce actually wasn't half bad, a little on the sour side, but it was okay.
At the two ends of the long wooden table sat Asgore and Toriel. Mettaton was next to Frisk who was next to me. Across from us was Papyrus, Sans, Undyne, and Alphys.
"Yeah, this spaghetti's pretty good. Eat spaghetti to forgehtii your regreties." Sans winked.
"Pffffft!" Toriel laughed at his very bad joke. Everyone else groaned.
"Ayyyy, forgetaboutit, Tori clearly has a sense of humor." He added.
Toriel smiled.
"Sans, you're too kind." Sans shrugged and winked at her again. I had to ask.
"Pst, Frisk. Do th-"
"I think so." She giggled.
"It's so cute, I ship it." She added.
"'Ship'?" I asked confused.
"It's when you like two people together as a couple." She whispered.
"Oh. That's... strange. For the amount of time I was... dead... it seems there's been an entire new language made."
"Haha, it seems there has. This generation is very interesting, I still have to teach you about emojis."
"What the f-crap are emojis?" I asked, remembering Toriel's presence.
"Nice save, and I'll show you later." She smiled going back to her spagehtti. Huh, emojis?
After dinner nighttime quickly came. Papyrus was put to bed at 8, Toriel went to an hour later, same with Asgore. I think he wanted to get back with her... But I don't think she exactly wants to be with him... She kind of slapped him when he went for a hug.
The rest went to bed between 10 and midnight. Then Frisk and I were the last two up.
"Well, we should probably go to sleep, huh." Frisk yawned standing up.
"Sleep's for the weak." I retorted. Then I yawned.
"Well, I guess I'm one of the weak." I half smiled.
"Haha, me too." She agreed.
"You can borrow some of my pajamas, if you want." She offered, holding out a pair of blue and purple pajamas.
"You really like blue and purple, huh?"
"Yep, Ms. Green and Yellow."
"Ha, true." I said taking the pajamas from her. She walked over and locked the door. Suddenly butterflies fluttered through my stomach realizing I needed to change in front of her.
I felt extremely awkward, and blushed. I looked down, trying to avoid Frisk from seeing my face.
"Um, I'll take the back wall you take the front..." Frisk said awkwardly.
"Alright." I said, relieved she didn't make things awkwarder than they already felt. I turned to the door as I pulled off my shirt. I looked at it for a second, I haven't taken this shirt of in... a long time. I threw it down and pulled over the pajama top. It smelled like cherry blossoms.
I pulled off my pants, exposing my legs. I quickly pulled on the bottoms and picked up my clothes.
"You done?" I asked blindy to the door.
"You can look, just putting on the top."
I turned as she finished pulling the top over her head.
She giggled as she looked at me.
"What?"
"You look weird in pink and blue."
"Wow, thanks." I answered.
"It's okay, it's a good weird." She reassured.
"Hm... is there such thing?" I asked, grinning a bit.
"Of course! I just said that Chara." Huh, the sarcastic response. Nice.
"Oh yeah, how dumb of me." I said, playfully hitting my forehead like a dumbo.
"Very much so." She played back.
"Okay, put your clothes in the laundry bin, and then bed." She said, getting back to what we were doing.
"Okay... mom." I smirked throwing my clothes into the laundry.
I walked to my bed and plopped down. I pulled the covers half up me and waited for Frisk to flick the lights off.
Flick.
I heard her light pitter patter as she made her way to her bed. I heard her sheets ruffle before it went silent. I looked towards her, but it was pitch black. I pulled out my phone an-
"Chara! No phone, it's bad for your eyes. Light's out." I shined my phone over and saw her making a scolding face.
"Ugh." I sighed.
"Finnneee." I whined putting my phone on my bedside table.
"Better?"
"Yes." She said in a lighter tone.
A few moments of silence passed, as I closed my eyes.
"Chara?" Frisk asked breaking the silence.
"Yeah?"
"What's your favorite food?" Well that was random. I didn't need any time to think though.
"Chocolate."
"Haha, I like chocolate too."
"I loveeeeeee chocooolatee." I said stretching out my words. It's true, I love chocolate.
"Wow, Chara. That's a lot of love for chocolate." She giggled.
"Haha, yeah. What's yours?" I asked back.
"Hm... Artic Swirl, Soft Chocolate, Strawberry with whipped cream ice cream! Mmmm, those are so good..." She responded dreamily. Wow, she knew her food.
"Hahahaha, you take your ice cream very seriously huh?" I laughed.
"Yes, yes I do." I didn't need to see to know she said that with a smile and a small laugh.
"Okay, well I'm kinda pooped, you should be too. Goodnight Chara." Frisk said. When her words reached my ears I felt the tenderness in her voice transfer to me.
"Goodnight Frisk." I smiled.
