I swoop down through one of the windows of the castle's rooms and I see her on her desk, writing down on her journal.

"Marinette..." I call out to her and she looks at me with a shocked expression.

"Adrien!" She runs to me and hugs me like as if she never wants to let go.

"Marinette, please. Don't make this hard for the both of us..."

She looks at me with her eyes full of tears. "Adrien...I can't. I can't do this anymore..."

"Don't say that, please. Don't remind me of my duty I have to do in honor of the king..."

"The king is tearing us apart-"

"The king is doing us a favor, Marinette." I reprimand her. "He allowed me to court you and he allowed us to love each other even if I, a knight, am not allowed to be in a relationship with a beautiful lady..."

"Adrien..."

"Marinette." I interrupt her, once again. "I will be going out to war, tomorrow...Laertes and his men are getting stronger and...and I d-don't know if I can survive..." I immediately break down, and I start crying as I hold Marinette in my arms.

"I want to live, Marinette..." I feel Marinette starting to shake because of her crying and I can hear her taking deep breaths trying to cool herself down. Unfortunately, her methods are not working.

"I want to see you after the war, Marinette. I want you to be my wife, the mother of our children. I want to grow old with you and I want to be with you forever..."

"Why is the world so cruel to us?"

"The world has never been a nice place, Marinette. But I don't regret living in this world because I have you...I have you..."

Marinette kisses me and I kiss her back. I wanted time to stop that moment. I wanted her to kiss me all day long. I wanted to take her to bed and make her mine for eternity. But sadly, that can never happen...

"Promise me that you will come back, alive..." She peers into my eyes after our kiss. Her eyes are still glossy because of her tears, and I'm sure that she will be crying all day long after I say these words:

"I cannot promise that, my love..."

She starts to cry again and she brings herself closer to me.

"If something ever happens to you, you will always be my knight..."

I kiss her, passionately and she kisses me back with the same force I used on her.

"Yes, I'm your knight..."
