"Dandelions"

{Third Person's PoV:}

A young and beautiful girl was just taking a stroll on the gardens. The sun is shining brightly throughout the clear, blue sky. And she's smiling brightly as ever. She crouched down between the flowers and picked one dandelion. She looked at it and smiled again as she saw the complete detail of the said flower.

Not long after, a figure with white hair sat beside her.

"Yo." The boy greeted.

"Yo~" She greeted back happily.

"How are you holding up?" He asked her as he looked at the flower that Wakana is holding.

"I've been good lately. Thank you!" She answered. The boy took the flower from her hand and stared at it.

"You know, something reminds me of this flower." He said, reminiscing some old memories.

"Really? What is it?" She asked, seeming to be interested at the topic that the boy brought up.

"Do you want to know?" He chuckled.

"Of course, Saru!" She said enthusiastically with a sparkle on her eyes.

"Then, let's just say it's about me and a special girl," Saru laid down on the ground. "The special girl who I can never forget." He continued with a smile. Wakana laid down on the ground beside him.

"How did you two meet?" She asked again, looking at him.

"Well, it all started in one stormy day..."

[~Flashback~]

"Geez! It's getting cold out here!" Saru said to himself while taking shelter from a ruined warehouse. It was raining really hard and the sky didn't show any signs of the rain stopping.

"Ugh! Curse Fei for calling me this late at night!" He said to himself once again.

"Ano... Pardon me but who are you?" A sweet looking girl approached him with an umbrella.

"Uhh... Why?" He asked back, making sure of the situation.

"Well, um, my father used to be the owner of this building and he asked me to get some stuff. So... Why are you here?" She said.

"What does it look like, doll? I'm taking shelter." Not the response she was expecting but it's pretty good.

"Ah, I see. Well, how about you go to our house first? You're wet. You might catch a cold." She offered, worry tainted on her eyes.
"First, why would you invite a stranger that you don't even know the name?" He asked, a smirk forming his lips.

"Hmm... Let's see. Well. I'm just really willing to help no matter who the person is!" She answered with enough enthusiasm, giving him a warm smile. And with that, the boy felt himself captivated by the girl.

"So... What's your name?"

"Saru... Saryuu Evans."

[~Flashback End~]

Saru smiled at the thought of remembering his special girl. He stared into the clear, blue sky remembering the first bright smile that the girl gave him.

"Heh... I remember something like that..." Wakana realized.

"Oh yeah? What a coincidence, I guess." He chuckled.

"Never mind that. What happened to both of you after that?" She asked again.

"Well, after a few months, we became close. And in fact, I have grown some feelings for her. Ironic, right? At first I thought it was an unrequited love so I kept thinking that all of it is just ironic. But I was wrong."

[~Flashback~]

The sun is shining brightly with dandelions dancing happily with the wind. The girl is playing with one while the boy is just watching her. He looked at her lovingly and thought of things that would make her happy. That is, when they're a couple.

He picked one dandelion and scooted closer to her.

"Ne." He called out to her.

"Hm?" The girl averted her gaze from the flower to him.

"This flower looks beautiful." He complimented.

"Un! It is! Dandelions are really beautiful!" She agreed nonetheless.

"Like you." Saru smiled. That made the girl blush.

"W-what do you mean by that...?" She stuttered, averting her gaze from him. He chuckled a bit.

"Come on. Don't act so oblivious! Haven't you noticed by my actions these past few weeks...?" He grinned a bit. She blushed madly with the sudden realization.

"But I'm not expecting you to--" She cut him off.

"I like you, too." The girl looked away, hiding her blush. In response, Saru blinked twice and smiled eventually.

And that's where their relationship started.

【Flashback End~】

The girl was just staring blankly at the clear, blue sky. Saru can't help but to notice that something is in fact wrong with her.

"Are you alright?" Saru tried to snap her out of her trail. The girl then suddenly asked him whilst staring into the sky.

"...Then what did you say to her after that?" She asked. Saru was hesitant at first but he has no choice but to say the truth.

"...Well, I said... 'I love you, Wakana'..." Saru hesitantly answered. With that, the girl suddenly screamed as she is holding her head because of the sheer pain.

"H-hey...! W-what's wrong?! Nurse!! Come here quick!" Saru called out, panic rushing in as he pulled the girl's body close to him. The nurses came rushing to their location and they quickly brought her to the Emergency Room. Saru was not allowed to come inside for it is a restricted area. He just stayed outside, frustrated at this whole happening.

[TIME SKIP AFTER 3 HOURS]

Saru just sat there, waiting patiently for the doctors to come. He has his head hang low as he stared to nothing in particular. He's starting to doubt if what he did is the right thing. If it's right to suddenly blurt out their past.

Not long after, a doctor came.

"Saru." The doctor called out. Saru jolted up from his seat, looking intently at the doctor.

"How is she, doc??" He asked worriedly. The doctor touched his glasses and pushed it up.

"We appreciate you being around her these past few months but... We can't let you see her. Remember that accident where her amnesia triggered? We can't let her remember that. It will just make her traumatized if we say it to her all at once. So we have to calm it down. And tell her slowly." The doctor explained nonchalantly.

"B... But what does it have to do with me?! I don't intend to tell her about that accident where she hit her head on a wall! I just want to be with her!" Saru's voice echoed throughout the hallway. Almost every room could hear it.

"I'm sorry. But if you stay longer around her, you'll make her suffer." And with that, the doctor left. Saru has his eyes widened. Too shocked by what just happened.

Of course, he doesn't want to leave her like that but if it's the only way to ease her pain then... He has no choice. He has to leave her. No matter how strong the pain is.

And that's when the two never saw each other again...

[EXTENDED ENDING]

Two years after that, Saru stayed away from Wakana. He didn't even bothered to visit her for he knows that he won't be able to help her. Especially at the time where she's recovering her memories. He's just visiting outside the hospital as his eyes are intently looking at the window where Wakana's room is. Hoping that Wakana would look outside her window and look at him.

Right now, he's doing that again. He is again staring at the window of Wakana's room. But because of knowing what the outcome is, he turned his back from the hospital and walked silently along the streets. But little did he know that a certain girl is following him.

"...Saru." She called out. Saru looked behind him, and was shocked by the figure.

"...W-Wakana..." He tried to run away but Wakana grabbed his arm and stopped him.

"...Saru, I missed you!" With that, she hugged him tightly, burying her face on his chest. Saru can't help but to let some tears fall down to his cheek as he hugged her back tightly.

"...I'm so―"

"You don't have to say sorry, Saru. I remember everything... And I'm just happy that I remembered you." She pulled away from him and looked at him in the eyes.

"I love you, Saru. No matter what happens." She said with that sweet smile of hers. Saru's tears just flowed like river, not believing what he's hearing. Wakana wiped his tears away and smiled again.

"Hey, what's wrong? You're not like that. You're supposed to be the strong, cool, and handsome Saru that I know." She pouted cutely. Saru wiped his tears away and chuckled.

"You never stop on surprising me, Wakana." He smiled.

He leaned in to connect his lips to Wakana's. She quickly reacted and kissed him back, enjoying the warmth that they're both longing for. He eventually pulled away from her lips slowly and looked at her deeply in the eyes.

"I love you too."
