Memories Never Fade

Nobody's PoV:

You are just a typical high school student. Doing your normal routine and trying hard to pass class. Fortunately, you are succeeding.

You are one of the members of Raimon Soccer Club! Yeah, you made good friends there. Friends that won't bail or leave you. Not like him. Not like him who left you waiting and looking dumb at the river side bank. You've waited there for like a whole day and there's no sign of him. You went home crying your heart out and decided to forget him and never even once remember him due to the so much pain he caused you.

Not like any other day, you are practicing as usual to win and enter the Football Frontier so that people will open their eyes and know that the Fifth Sector is wrong towards soccer.

Little by little, you are succeeding at opening their eyes. You felt satisfied with this team and you promised you will never leave this team.

It was a day for practicing again but this time you felt some memories want to come out and flash to your mind. You already know what that is and tried hard to hid it so that you couldn't ruin the spirit flowing at the team.

Until, you felt your heart being smashed in a million pieces. You fell on the ground and fainted. You felt Tsurugi carried you and dashed towards a nearby hospital, which is the Inazuma Hospital.

"Hang in there, (F/n). We're almost there!" Tsurugi said while you are on his arms.

When you arrived at the hospital, Tsurugi kicked the door making a loud sound, making the nurses and doctors look at your direction. Tsurugi quickly lied you down on the bed and nurses and doctors came dashing in. Some of them are asking Endou about what happened. And all of your teammates are standing there very worried.

Soon, the nurses pushed your bed towards the O.R. (Operation Room). Endou kantoku and the others are left outside.

"Endou!!" Otonashi said while running towards Endou and the others. "Is she going to be all right?" She added while panting.

"I don't know. But I hope nothing bad happens to her." Endou said and looked at the room where you are being operated, making the others worried.

"Things will work out somehow, Endou kantoku!" Tenma said his usual quote and cheered everyone up.

On the other side, you felt yourself being operated. But that didn't bother you, I guess because of anaesthesia. But the one bothering you is him. The memories are flashing back on your mind but this time it's a different memory. A memory of you and him together and happy. The other side of you was getting angry because you promised yourself that you will never remember him and you just did! However, the other side of you felt warm, like you actually miss him.

You are getting confused to what to feel inside when suddenly you felt the operation stopped.

One of the doctors came out of the room making all of them stand in curiosity.

"How is it, doc?" Endou asked.

"She just had a cardiac arrest. Most of people didn't survive this but, fortunately, she does. She has a strong fighting spirit, sir. And I think that's what keeps her to move on." The doctor explained.

Endou and the others sighed for relief and some of them went home but Otonashi stayed and watched for you a little bit and went home.

After 3 days of being unconscious~~

You woke up. The sight is kind of blurry until it's clear. You realized that you are operated in the heart. You tried to stand up but failed. You're body hurts especially your heart.

You stared at the ceiling and thought. You remembered him. But this time, the sad memories were flashing in your mind. You are in the urge of crying as you grin your teeth. Damn it! It just really hurts!

Until a nurse with a purple hair came in...

"I see. You're awake, (F/n)-chan! How are you feeling?" She said as she came closer to look at your dextrose.

"Fine, thank you!" You replied.

"Good. I'm Fuyuka Kudou and I'll be your nurse. Just call me if you want something, 'kay? And oh..after a day or two, you could go out and wander around the hospital yards." She said and gave you a smile.

"Hai, Fuyuka-san!" You said. And she left.

You again looked at the ceiling. You felt yourself getting dizzy, and you fell asleep.

After 2 days~~

Reader's PoV:

"Ahh...finally! I can get out of this boring room! I can finally smell the fresh air outside." I thought as I looked at the window.

I quickly get out of the room and ran outside the hospital. The garden was so beautiful! There are so many kinds of flowers and plants!.I just felt happy that I'm out.

I sat on the bench and sighed in relief. I closed my eyes until a ball hit the back of my head.

"Ow!" I shouted as I rubbed the back of my head.

"Gomen, gome-.....(F/n)?" He said. My eyes widen when he said my name. I turned and I saw Taiyou! I quickly hid my face.

"(F/n), is that really you?" He asked as he sat beside me. I started to cry, knowing that he doesn't remember anything.

"(F/n), are you crying?" He asked again.

"What does it look like?" I replied coldly as I wiped some tears but some of them just keeps falling down.

"Why?" He asked worriedly.

"Really? You didn't remember anything, do you? How you bailed on me on the river side bank and kept me waiting and looking dumb! You know what, just forget it!" I said as I wiped my tears and walked to my room.

Author's PoV:

Taiyou was left there, processing what you said. You didn't even bother wonder or ask why he is in the hospital because of the pain.

You sat on the bed and sobbed. You don't know what to do anymore! All you want to do is sob!

You looked outside the window and thought, "Oka-san. I wish you were still here." Then, somebody knocked at your door and entered. You saw his reflection in the window but you didn't face him.

"(F/n), I'm really sorry about what happened in the past." Taiyou said walking closer to you. Tears started to fall again.

"How can I forget that, Taiyou? It still hurts! My whole heart hurts everytime I remember that! Answer me, Taiyou! How?" You shouted at him. He just kept silent in there and looking at the ground.

Suddenly, you felt getting dizzy. And after a few seconds you fell to the ground. Taiyou saw you and called the nurse! They quickly put the oxygen mask in you. And pumping your heart so you could breath..

It was successful. But, you need to pay the consequences, you need to stay in the hospital. You still can't get discharged because your disease got worser.

You suffered the pain. Everyday. At the same time, you are suffering the pain about Taiyou. It really hurts when you shouted at him.

"I wish I had never shouted at him. I wish I just let him explain! And look at me, now! I'm useless! I can't help my friends anymore! And now, I miss him! I miss the Taiyou that supported me back then!" You thought.

You stand up and went in his room, finding no one! You panicked! You quickly asked Fuyuka-san where he is. But sad to say, he is now discharged.

Ishido Shuuji took him.

"What?! Why is it have to be that man? Why?! Taiyou...no! This man might lead you in danger! In fact, he will! Your condition is not yet recovered, Taiyou! How could you do that to yourself?! I don't wanna lose you again!" You thought while grinning your teeth because of regret.

"(F/n)-chan, you can watch him in TV if you want?" Fuyuka said and you nodded.

You ran to your room and quickly opened the television. You saw Raimon and the other team having a match. You saw Taiyou giving his all in this match. You then saw him bringing out his avatar and making an avatar shoot.

"Taiyou, no!!" You shouted.

You saw him in pain and he is clutching his shirt where the heart is. You knew that he can't do this anymore. You cried again! Hoping that he won't pass out or something. The match ends and they are all exhausted. Raimon wins. But seeing Taiyou being ambulanced hurts you. You patiently waited for him in the emergency room. And there, you saw him and an oxygen mask is on his mouth and nose.

You run to him and held his hand.

"(F/n), I'm so sorry for bailing you. I'm not bailing on you. I texted you to go there because I wanted to tell you about my condition and also to tell you that 'I love you'. But I passed out and they called an ambulance. They completely forgot about you. And I'm in a coma for so long. I'm sorry, (F/n)." Taiyou explained as he held your hand back.

"No, no! I should be the one saying that! I should've let you explain! I'm sorry, Taiyou! And I love you!" You said as tears are falling. Taiyou just held your hands tighter.

Meanwhile, the heart monitor blanked, meaning, there are no signs of heartbeats. You're eyes widen and embraced him.

"Taiyou!! Don't leave me!! Not like this!! Taiyou!! Please wake up!! I love you, Taiyou!!" You shouted trying to wake him up. The nurses excused you to go outside. First, you refused but they overpowered you so they dragged you outside.

"Taiyou!!!" You yelled outside the room while crying your heart out.

Extended Ending~

A year passed after that incident and you can't make your mind off it.

"Ne, (F/n). Are you thinking about that again?" A boy asked you and you nodded. Still staring at the direction you are looking at.

"Come on, (F/n)! Forget that already! Besides, I'm still here, right?" He said and you stared at his blue eyes.

"Yeah, I know, but I can't forget how you almost died!! I can't forget the time when I'm gonna lose you again! I just can't help it." You protested.

"Just forget it, (F/n). Past is in the past. And we tend to "Keep Moving Forward", remember?" He advised.

"I know...but... ugh!" You said as you hugged him. "I'm just glad you're still alive, Taiyou!" You said. Taiyou hugged back.

"Yeah. I'm glad too." He said while rubbing your hair.

"I love you, Taiyou!" You said as you rested on his chest.

"I love you too, (F/n)! Always have and Always will!" He said as he rested his chin on your head. You smiled on what he said.
