(Third Person P.O.V)

Everyone gathered to watch the latest rounds of the Tournament with (Y/N) performing background music; some Kabuki had been ordered to replace the missing band members.

(Y/N) noticed that one particular Kabuki was annoyingly familiar  and the irony that they were dress as one of Chen's courtesans wasn't lost on her.

(Y/N) just let out a frustrated sigh and ready for the next performance. As long as she didn't cause any problems (Y/N) would keep her mouth shut.

The first round started starting with Griffin Turner the Master of Speed vs Gravis the Master of Gravity. The Master of Speed was the winner.

Next was Neuro the Master of Mind vs Bolobo the Master of Nature. The Master of Mind was victorious and then came the one that the ninja were most interested in  Kai the hotheaded Master of Fire, vs Ash the Master of Smoke.

Kai was Ash were on a rope and wooden bridge over a river of Lava the Jade Blade was in the middle of the bridge.

(Y/N) was giggling to herself about the fact that Chen had stacked the odds against Kai in such a way it was all most poetic. "This Chen isn't as dumb as he seems." (Y/N) thought to herself.

"Hothead is going to set that on fire for sure." (Y/N) chuckled set up for the next song.

"Kai Master of Fire vs Ash Master of Smoke! Fight!" Master Chen shouted and one of the Kabuki struck the gong.

Kai at first tried to run straight for the blade. But the Master of Smoke rocked the bridge and Kai tumbled off, barely able to hang on with one hand with the lava bubbling away underneath him.

The Jade Blade slid off the bridge and embed itself in a rock below.

The Master of Smoke continued to run across the bridge as Kai climbed under the bridge.

"Come on, Kai, you can do it!" Lloyd shouted to his teammate.

Kai swung himself so hard that he broke through from under the bridge and tried to kick Ash but before Kai could land a blow Ash disappeared and reappeared behind Kai.

Ash laughed at the stunned boy and shot smoke into Kai's face.

Kai spluttered and tried to kick Ash again only for the Master of Smoke to disappear.

Ash had no trouble landing blows against Kai however and one of his punches sent Kai flying backward, breaking the bridges wooden boards as he did. Kai was once again barely able to hang onto the bridge.

"Kai!" Lloyd, Cole and Jay screamed. 

Kai dangled by one hand once more as Ash shot more smoke at him. But as Kai dodge the smoke the board he was holding on too snapped and it broke in half.

He used Spinjitzu and landed back on the bridge only to be kicked by Ash.

"Come on, Kai. Use your power!" Lloyd shouted.

And as (Y/N) had predicted Kai shouted "Fire!" Lighting the flimsy wooden bridge ablaze with his power.

Then Ash reappeared behind Kai and forced Kai to hit the bridge again this time the bridge broke forcing the two to continue the fight on the rocks below. After a long struggle, Kai was able to snatch the Jade Blade.

"Winner! Master of Fire moves on." Master Chen declared. The crowd cheered. "Yeah! Kai!" Lloyd shouted and jumped up and down.

The Ninja saw everyone was crowded around the brackets, chattering loudly.

"What's all the commotion?" Jay asked. Then they saw what everyone was talking about and gasped.

"No. He can't do this!" Cole said. "He already did." Lloyd said.

"Is there a problem, ninja?" Clouse said. "You cheated! You changed the brackets!" Cole shouted.

"Oopsie." Clouse laughed and turned to walked away only to come face to face with (Y/N). Clouse screamed like a frightened child "Get out of my sight, Clouse. I have idiots to mock." (Y/N) said stepping around Master Chen's second in command.

Clouse merely whimpered and ran away. "What do we do? They can't fight each other. We came here to become whole not fall further apart." Lloyd asked.

"Lloyd, no offence but saving Zane will not unite you all again. This group is broken." (Y/N) pointed out.

"You can't undo what's been done. My only advice is to be at peace with it." Sensei Garmadon said.

"And you have become just as useless as your brother." (Y/N) said with a sigh. Sensei Garmadon gave her a stern look. "What? Don't deny it. You were more helpful when you were "evil" ." (Y/N) replied doing air quotes around evil.

"Peace? One of us has to lose! Oh my gosh, it's totally going to be me. He's got super strength and what do I have? Quick, tell me! What do I have?" Jay screamed in panic (Y/N) patted Jay on the back.

"Don't listen to my dad. We find Zane the none of us have to battle. You fight isn't until tonight so we still have time to figure out what Chen's up to and stop this." Lloyd declared.

"I think I know just the person who can help and I think he already knows." Kai said with confidence. The Ninja and (Y/N) then went to Neuro who was sitting on a rock.

"We need your help Neuro." Lloyd said.

"You think I can get close to Chen to read his mind, so you can find your robotic friend and not have to fight." Neuro answered.

"Don't forget..." Kai began.

"You still need to know what Chen's up to because he's hiding something." Neuro finished.

"That's really impressive Nerdo." Jay said.

"It's Neuro, Master of the Mind." Neuro said and he turned to face the Ninja. Then said. "And Cole thinks Jay won't last long in a fight."

"Of course you'd think that?" Jay said to Cole. "You just said it yourself!" Cole defended.

"And Cole. Jay here thinks you'll stab anyone in the back to get what you want." Neuro said. "You don't say!" Cole said as he began a fight with Jay.

"Cole betrayed Jay with Jay's girlfriend." (Y/N) explained in a matter of fact voice to Neuro before stepping in between Cole and Jay to pry them apart.

Neuro pulled a rather interesting face at that comment. "I'm going to do some more investigating." (Y/N) told Jay ruffling his hair a little before she left him. In truth, she had to get ready for the next performance but she would do some investigating after.

"We wanted you to help, Neuro, not make things worse." Lloyd said crossly.

"But why would I help? You're competition. The sooner you're out the better for me." Neuro pointed out his face returning to normal.

"If you want what's best for you, just look into my head and you'll see what this tournament is all about."

After Neuro saw into Lloyd's mind Lloyd said. "It's only a matter of time before Chen steals your power too. So are you in?"

____Timeskip____

Lloyd was standing with Cole and Kai was standing with Jay. Beating up a punching bag with a picture of Jay tapped too it.

"You don't have to say it, It was inevitable we were going to have to face each other, May as well be Jay, This fight's been a long time coming." Cole said to Lloyd and Kai.

"Well, I'm not at peace with this, but that doesn't mean you still can't find peace with each other, we don't have control when we fight but we do have control how we fight. Jay's not your enemy Chen is remember that." Lloyd spoke.

"Sensei Wu once said the best way to defeat your enemy is to make him your friend, but how are you suppose to defeat your friend?" Cole questioned.

The bars on Cole's door pulled away and Kai an Lloyd left.

"You tried your best, the rest is up to them." Sensei Garamadon said when Kai and Lloyd had gotten into the stands.

"I hope they can see that too" Lloyd stated sadly.

(Third Person P.O.V)

(Y/N) had been by Jay's side before the battle comforting him. "Look at it this way Jay, this is your chance to get him back for betraying you." (Y/N) said patting Jay on the back.

Jay gave her a questioning look. (Y/N) decided to elaborate.

"Look I may not be able to understand this relationship thing all you ninja do but I understand payback and you deserve retribution." (Y/N) told him with the utmost conviction.

Jay didn't say anything he just listened to (Y/N) as she encouraged him to stand for himself against those that had done him wrong.

"It not fair that everyone expects you too just getting over the fact that your best friend betrayed you, and your girlfriend cheated on you with a big happy smile on their faces and your team expects you to just accept that a pretend like nothing is wrong."

The bars on Jay's door pulled away and (Y/N) was forced to leave. But before she left (Y/N) turned around and said. "Jay, you're in the right, go kick his ass."

(Third Person P.O.V)

"Let the tournament continue! Jay the Master of Lightning vs Cole the Master of-- "Master Chen began to say but didn't get to finish because Cole and Jay ran at each other and began to fight.

Jay shot a bolt of lighting at Cole but Cole jumped over it. Cole smashed the ground with his fist and sent earth mounds speeding at Jay who dodged it.

"That's all you've got? You filthy backstabber!" Jay shouted at Cole. "Eat dirt, Blue-boy!" Cole growled back and shot dirt at Jay. Jay countered by shooting lighting at Cole.

Jay landed a swift kick to Cole stomach and Cole struck Jay in the mouth Jay spat out the blood and lunged at Cole.

Jay and Cole Continued shooting their respective elemental powers at each other at the same time. Which kept they both from began hit.

But Jay's lighting seemed to be stronger.

"Stronger than you thought, eh? That's your betrayal flowing through my veins!" Jay screamed pressing the attack.

"I'm looking forward to the peace and quiet when you're out of the tournament!" Cole hissed fighting back.

Cole's earth then pushed Jay back hitting him sending Jay across the battleground.

"And I'm looking forward to never seeing you traitorous face after this!" Jay screeched back sending another bolt of lightning at Cole that Cole had to quickly dodge.

Chunks of earth and bolts of lightning flew in all directions causing the crowd to take cover from the debris.

The music abruptly cut off as the Kabuki ran for cover and (Y/N) used her guitar as a shield.

"Ooo, This is getting good." Master Chen said to Clouse. "I think everyone else disagrees, Master." Clouse said pointing out that the spectators had all mostly fled for safety.

"This is bad." Lloyd called out to his dad who was behind a separate pillar.

"They should have been honest with each other, instead of bottling this up." Sensei Garmadon warned.

"(Y/N)'s right, you were more of a help when you were evil." Kai grumbled ducking a clump of dirt came flying at his precious newly gelled hair.

Jay deflected a rather large bolder with a burst of lightning accidentally sending it careening into the stage.

Master Chen landed on one of his buttons causing bat wings to sprout out of the back of his throne. "Oh no." Master Chen moaned as the throne took off.

"Master?!" Clouse shouted as the throne flew out a window. "Just get me down, Clouse!" Master Chen screamed hanging on for dear life.

(Y/N) burst out laughing at Chen. "Have a nice flight." Clouse shoot (Y/N) a dirty look.

A bolt of lightning cut through the air and half of a wall setting it ablaze. (Y/N) only giggled in excitement at the chaos that was abounded to even notice.

That was not the only thing that had gone unnoticed.

Cole and Jay were still locked in their intense battle completely oblivious to the utter devastation they were causing around them.

Cole leapt into the air and smashed the ground with his fist.

Launching Jay into the air Cole then grabbed Jay by his pants leg and swung him around in a circle and flung him into a wall.

Jay stormed toward Cole electrocution the ninja of earth so badly that Cole's hair started to smoke.

Flaming roof tiles began to fall inside the arena causing Jay and Cole jumped around trying to avoid them.

The Jade blade was knocked from its poll and landed by in Jay's possession. "Great one of them won, can they stop this now." One of Chen's men shouted.

But Jay didn't care and neither did Cole they were having this out.

Jay tossed the Jade Blade away Cole wiped the blood from his mouth and the pair lunged at each other matching punch to punch, kick to kick.

"Someone needs to do something they're going to kill each other." Kai screamed about to race in only for two of Chen's men to stop him.

"What the hell! Jay won! Stop this now!" Kai screamed at the pair. "You have to stop them they're going to kill each other." Lloyd shouted trying to get the pair to see reason.

"This place is coming down!" (Y/N) yelled leaping out a hole in the wall lined with scorch marks.

"Jay, we need  to stop." Cole said finally coming to his senses in what was left of the burning arena.

"Oh, sure, lower my guard by pretending to be my friend, then swoop in to stab me in the back. Typical Cole maneuver!" Jay said and he climbed back to his feet and both of his hands held lighting.

"Jay, I never meant to hurt you, If I knew it would destroy our friendship, I'd take it all back. " Cole pleaded.

"No! You did mean to hurt me or you wouldn't have done it in the first place!" Jay screamed firing lighting at Cole.

Cole had to frantically dodge Jay's savage blast. Cole was now hiding behind some debris.

"Jay, look I'm sorry about Nya-" Cole began only to be cut off by Jay.

"I don't care about losing Nya, she was unfaithful to me! Not the other way around and I'm sick of your whole team putting it on me! That I should be ok with the fact that you two betrayed me and them standing beside you're decision to do so!"

What the pair inside the burring arena didn't know is that the speaker system that (Y/N) had been using was still functioning and the mic had rolled into the arena with the two combatants and even worse everyone on the island could hear them.

"She's as much of a backstabbing traitor as you are! You two deserve each other I hope you two betray each other just like you betrayed me!" Jay screamed at the top of his voice obliterating a pile of rubble in one blast.

(Y/N) was suppressing so much laughter that she just might have died from a lack of oxygen. After catching a glimpse of a curtain Kabuki's face. As well as the rest of the ninja who were looking extraordinarily guilty.

"I never knew he felt that way." Lloyd said to himself and his father put his hand on his son's shoulder.

"Jay I'm sorry-" "You're not sorry!" Jay screamed cutting off Cole so loudly that the speaker system started to screech from the feedback.

"None of you are! You don't care about what you've done unless it affects you!" Jay screamed seizing Cole by the throat.

Everyone outside could hear Cole chocking. Cole managed to kick Jay away from his throat.

Now it was Cole's turn.

"And I'm sick of you assuming that I said yes to Nya!"

"I never agreed to be with her! Why does everyone assumes I'm the bad guy in this! It all Nya's fault!"

"I only agreed to help her find out about Borg's stupid machine stop grouping me in with this betrail stuff! If you want some to blame for tearing our friendship apart it's her!"

Kai was sitting on the ground completely red-faced. Unable to move. Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon were standing there with the most uncomfortable looks on their faces.

"Well, you wanted them to talk about it. Looks like you got your wish." (Y/N) whispered to Sensei Garmadon.

"The person I love hates me because of Nya pulling this stunt and making me look like I betrayed you. I lost my only chance to be with her all because of what Nya's done... " Cole was so frustrated he couldn't even get the words out of his mouth.

"And worst of all Nya cost me my best friend... Jay, I'm sorry I really am."

"I guess we shouldn't have this out a long time ago, hu." Jay said helping Cole off the ground. "Yeah I guess, we should have." Jay agreed. "I'm sorry I didn't realise that Nya had played you too."

"Well, I'm glad they finally had that out." Sensei Garmadon said with a smile. "Way to jinx it." (Y/N) hissed.

"Hey, you want to know the funny thing if Nya hadn't done the horrible things she's done. I wouldn't have fallen in love with (Y/N)." Jay said with a chuckle.

Cole's face fell. "YOU ASS!" Cole shouted shoving Jay. "What?" Jay shouted back. "(Y/N) IS THE GIRL I'M IN LOVE WITH!" Cole screamed so loudly that his voice caused the speaker system to crack.

Everyone on the island winced as the pair started fighting again every sound echoing through the speaker system.

Lloyd had the darkest look his father had ever seen on his young son's face right at that moment.

Lloyd took his father's hand off of his should and said. "Excuse me. I have to go talk to the pair of them right now." his voice just brimming with hate.

"I think I will as well." Kai said getting off the ground and headed towards the burning building with Lloyd.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"Phew! About time." Master Chen said as Clouse got Chen's throne under control. "Of course, Master." Clouse grumbled.

"Now. Carry me back home Clouse. I don't want to miss anything." Master Chen declared.
