The group of Zane, Echo, Jay and (Y/N) sat around the warm campfire.

"Serpentine... The rest of your bandmates are Serpentine..." Jay repeated still unsure how to take the news.

"There's nothing wrong with that." (Y/N) defended she was glad that Jay was no longer crying from all of the pain and heartache. "I'm not being negative I'm just shocked." Jay answered.

"Well... Sensei Wu did say the best way to defeat an enemy is to make them a freind." Zane pointed out.

"That makes no sense to me what so ever." (Y/N) puffed shaking her head.

"The Serpentine were very happy when we reunited them with their missing family members." Echo pointed out and Zane patted him on the head.

"You guys should see Scales Jr. He's so cute." (Y/N) mentioned thinking about the tiny Serpentine. "Little guy keeps accidentally hypnotising himself." (Y/N) giggled.

Jay was at a loss for words. "How did you two come across the missing family members of the Serpentine?" Zane asked.

"While we were travelling trying to find Ninjago city we stumbled upon Scales jr he had managed to escape the Serpentine tomb he was in through a tiny crack in the door he was looking for his dad." Echo told Zane with a big smile.

"And your not the type to turn your back on kids." Jay said to (Y/N) who only nodded in response.

"We returned Scales Jr to his mum but the rest of the tribe wanted to find their loved ones so (Y/N) and I helped safely reunite them." Echo continued Zane gave his young brother a hug he was proud of him for doing good.

Jay looked at (Y/N) with a big smile she did have a soft side after all. But he noticed a hint of something else in her eyes.

It was difficult to point out but it was clear that something had broken since the last time he had seen her.

"It wasn't safe for them to wander off alone, Scales jr was lucky he ran into us and not someone looking to settle a score with the Serpentine." (Y/N) said with a shrug.

Echo let out a huge yawn and rubbed his eyes it was getting late and the steam-powered nindorid needed to power down for the night.

"Time for bed sleepy head." (Y/N) said to Echo who just nodded happily.

Jay had curled up in his sleeping bag too on the other side of Echo which made Echo feel a lot safer.

"Lullaby?" Echo asked hopefully. "Lullaby." (Y/N) agreed and Echo shifted deeper into his sleeping bag and (Y/N) sat down beside him and began to softly sing.

--(Y/N) singing was cut short by Jay's heavy snores he and Echo were curled up next to one and other fast asleep.

(Y/N) sighed and cheekily whispered to Zane. "Everyone's a critic."

(Third Person P.O.V)

It took everything in Cole's power to keep the appearance of a cool and calm exterior all the while Cole was thinking.

"(Y/N) doesn't trust me anymore... That look of disdain on (Y/N)'s face... She hates me..."

Nya was sobbing into her brother's shoulder.

"It was all Nya's fault he'd lost his best friend and the sweetheart of his dreams because Nya wanted to cheat on Jay with him..." Cole mused bitterly.

Cole sat back down on an old bench he wanted to burst into tears. Sure his face was fixed in place, hard as stone but inside he was breaking.

Nya had cost Cole everything!

He loved (Y/N) and Jay was his best friend and his team was now splinted it was the only good thing he had going in his life since his fight with his father after his mother's death.

It was all gone...

All because of a stupid machine and an even stupider girl.

Nya was crying into her brother's shoulder. She'd never been more humiliated in her life.

Kai was silently hugging his distraught sister the siblings need each other more now than ever.

Storm clouds began to roll across the sky with thunder close behind.

In the distance, the two Ninja and Nya were being watched by a figure with a black beard carrying an electrified-Bo-staff with red symbols carved into it.

Zane awoke ready to take overnight watch duty from (Y/N). Zane quickly glancing around the campsite Jay and Echo were still sleeping peacefully cuddled up side by side.

Jay and Echo were pardoned from any night watch duties.

Zane finally spotted (Y/N) leaning up against a small rock. Zane was watching (Y/N) staring up at the sky. She had this hidden look of suffering and was quietly humming a song to herself.

"Miss (Y/N)" Zane called out softly. (Y/N) went to pull her hood up but remembered that she no longer had her cloak.

"Would you like to talk about it?" Zane asked sitting beside (Y/N). Taking a deep breath to steady herself (Y/N) began to speak.

"Zane... While I was stuck in the lighthouse with Echo I-I remembered... Something."

"(Y/N) that's wonderful what is it." Zane said excitedly but that excitement quickly faded when he saw that (Y/N) face was solemn.

"Did you not want to find out where you came from?" Zane inquired with a perplexed look on his face.

"Zane... It wasn't wonderful." (Y/N) admitted sadly staring up at the stars. "Was what you remembered that bad?" Zane questioned.

(Y/N) shock a little and Zane gently placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her.

"It was painful and fear-inducing... Zane wherever I'm from..." (Y/N) was struggling to get the words out.

"It may be for the best that my memories are left forgotten. I feel it can only get worse." (Y/N) finally choked out Zane pulled her closer as (Y/N) continued to shake from the memories.

"I'm sorry (Y/N) I have no words of wisdom to give you all I can say is that I will be there for you when you need me." Zane promised and held (Y/N) tighter.

(Y/N) was suppressing her tears. "Tears are a sign of weakness and weakness is punished." (Y/N) reminded herself quietly.

Zane didn't say a thing he just held (Y/N) tighter as she continued to say this to herself.

Whatever (Y/N) had remembered had shaken her deeply. Zane did his best to comfort her he'd never seen her this way.

She was always so guarded and strong the fact she was willing to show this side of herself to him made Zane feel honoured. He just wished it could be under different circumstance.

"Zane... I'm afraid..." (Y/N) admitted. "Courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to act in spite of fear." Zane quoted trying to cheer (Y/N) up.

(Y/N) rolled her eyes. She appreciated the attempt. She ruffled Zane's hair in a warm gesture.

Author Note:

1) The lullaby's Lyrics are from davy jones song pirates of the Caribbean. Writing a song is hard and finding one that foreshadowed was impossible.

2) I hate season 3. Least favourite season which I could just skip it. XP
