___Nexo Knights___

The Forgotten Revenge floated silently on the ocean. It was eerily quiet and calm. Anyone who knew Sea Monsters knew that this was completely abnormal and was a sign of an impending storm. Though there wasn't a cloud in sight, there was indeed a storm brewing and coming their way. It wasn't rain or lightning that would be striking, but the news that had become a buzz across the Realm.

They had begrudgingly sent out scrolls detailing what was to take place to the humans as is custom considering that they too were involved.

The news of a trial was covered by Knighton News Network and then some. Completely overshadowing Jestro's pardon for his crimes while under the influence of the Book of Monsters. Countless cameras and journalists were requesting to be at the trial, being held on the Isle of Vile to avoid any possible complications.

There was talk that they should wait until the Elm of the Dark Realm returned for wherever the ancient monster had left to sighting personal business just hours before the sudden arrival of the prisoner Maya and an enraged (Y/N).

It had taken the combined efforts of the present monsters to stop the enraged Queen of Monsters from her frothing rage. Her anger was just radiating off of her in the form of dark, purple magic flying from her body. And all of it specifically targeted at Maya.

Maya was now within the Dark Tower Castle dungeons. Her world was crumbling down around her. She was a criminal awaiting trial, and her reputation was lying dead in a ditch alongside her dignity and pride. Maya could only pray that Ray and her children were safe.

"Wretched is too kind a word for this witch." One of the monsters patrolling in the dungeon snorted as he passed Maya's cell. Maya watched as the blue monster continued his rounds. She wondered what weird morbid world she was in. They were probably taking advantage of her situation to enjoy her suffering.

(Third Person P.O.V)

____ Ninjago ____

With the Ninjas dealing with the Reversal Blade. Echo took Cyrus Borg home to Borg tower where a very elated Mindroid was happily reunited with the wheelchair user.

Minidroid beeped insistently at Cyrus Borg, obviously chastising the man for getting kidnapped. While Ronin and Dareth had left to go back to Dareth's dojo.

"I wish we'd found something of value." Ronin chuckled trying to lighten the mood as Dareth wheeled him into the dojo. "I just wish that we'd found my trophies." Dareth sighed as he looked at his empty trophy cabinet.

"Anybody home?" A voice came from the front room. Thinking that it was the food they'd ordered from Skylor's restaurant Ronin called out. "We're back here."

"We are so grateful to you for rescuing us." One of the construction workers the pair had rescued said as the others held out a homemade trophy made out of scrap metal found at the construction site they'd worked at. "So we made you this trophy." He said handing the trophy over the Dareth.

"Actually, it was the both of us who helped you." Dareth corrected them. "Nah, you take it." Ronin said with a chuckle. "You deserve it, brown ninja."

Nidhogg stuck his head into the dojo's door gently gripping Dareth in his teeth before pulling his head back out taking Dareth with him.

Nidhogg placed Dareth on his back then stuck his head back into the dojo Nidhogg tried to grab Ronin but was confused by the wheelchair and wasn't sure how to grip Ronin with the chair in the way.

The two of the construction workers panic and grip the other end of the wheelchair to prevent the undead dragon from taking the injured Ronin.

The third ran for the phone and called the police. "Ninjago police! Help! Dragon attack!" The construction worker screamed into the phone.

(Third Person P.O.V)

____ Ninjago ____

It had been mere hours since Maya's kidnapping and the Ninjas started going over their plan after dealing with the Reverse Blade.

Nya answered the phone. "Hello?" Nya asked. "Yes, this is the Ninjas." Nya turned and looked at the team and her father. "An undead dragon is trying to break in at Dareth's Dojo." Nya reported to the team.

"An undead dragon?" Ray questioned. "(Y/N)'s dragon. Long story." Kai summarised. The Ninja's and Ray pulled up at Dareth's Dojo "Nidhogg!" Lloyd yelled at the dragon.

Nidhogg turned his attention to the green ninja. Nidhogg immediately stopped trying to pick up Ronin. Paused for a moment staring at the Ninjas. Then charged at the Ninjas. The Ninja's let out terrified screams and braced themselves for the dragon's attack.

But none came.

The ninjas looked up and saw that Nidhogg had encircled the green ninja and started to lick him.

"Eww! Gross! Stop!" Lloyd pleaded with the dragon. "He really seems to like you." Jay laughed as the green ninja continued to receive a tongue bath.

"Hey." Dareth said weakly as he tried to get down from the dragon's back, his foot getting stuck in a brown bag hanging off one of Nidhogg's horns. Dareth yelped as the bag broke causing him and the bag to fall with a hard thud that knocked the wind out of Dareth and sent some scrolls that were inside the bag to come tumbling and rolling out.

"What are these?" Cole said, picking up one. Jay picked up two as well. "Hey, these are all addressed to people." Jay commented after giving the scrolls a once over.

The ninja's start gathering them up. "This one is addressed to the Serpentine." Nya reported holding up the scroll she'd nabbed. "This one is for Pythor." Kai commented on the one he picked up. "The one I have says it's for the citizens of Ninjago." Cole said, raising an eyebrow. "There's a few like that." Jay says holding up an armful.

"These two are for Ronin and Dareth." Kai said, handing them over to Dareth once he picked himself off the ground. "This one is for a Cyrus Borg." Ray said inspecting a scroll. "This one is addressed to Elemental Masters and this one is addressed to the relatives of Maya Smith." Zane reported to the others.

The Ninjas all turned to look at Kai, Nya and Ray. Nya held out her hand to take the scroll from the Master of Ice.

Kai and Ray leant over Nya shoulders as she broke the wax seal and opened the scroll.

"It's some kind of Royal proclamation?" Nya said. "Well. What does it say?" Cole persisted. "Hang on. Let me read through the blow-hard grandstanding parts." Nya said mumbling her way through a large part of the scroll to the parts that mattered most.

"Ah, here it is." Nya confidently stated then cleared her throat and began reading out loud. "The relatives of the criminal Maya Smith are hereby ordered to appear in person via Nidhogg to the Criminal Trial of one Maya Smith."

"They are to present any evidence or to testify what they know concerning the matter. Hereby be warned if you choose to be absent without due cause Nidhogg will be dispatched to compile your attendance."

There was a hollow clack that echoed across the pavement. Nya had dropped the scroll with trembling hands.

"Execution to follow." Nya choked out. Her gut clenched with the sickening feeling that she was about to face something entirely unpleasant.

"So, wait? I'm confused. Are threatening to execute you if you don't come or are they threatening to kill Maya anyway?" Cole asked, scratching the back of his head. Kai punched Cole in the gut as hard as he could, knocking the wind out of the Earth Ninja and injuring his own fist. His knuckles making a sickening crunch.

Nya let out a sob and threw herself into Jay's arms. He jolted in surprise, not used to such a display of emotion from the normally stoic girl, but wrapped his arms around her and hugged her in an effort to comfort his distressed teammate.

This scared Nya more than anything in her entire life. She hadn't had her parents since she was three. She had always thought they were dead but now they were alive. And now her mother was going to be taken from her forever.

"I- I can't lose my mother, Jay." Nya sobbed in a heavy voice. "I can't lose her!"

"I know, Nya, I know." Jay replied, trying to comfort her.

Nya gently broke away from Jay, thankful that with everything that had gone on between them Jay was still kind enough to comfort her in her time of need.

"Thank you, Jay. I needed that." Nya said and wiped her eyes. "You're only human, Nya." Jay replied. "These feelings don't make you weak. They make you a person." Jay offered a soft smile.

"Nya, I can go with you if you want. If you need a friend." Jay offered, trying to comfort his teammate.

"No, but thank you, Jay." Nya replied, sniffling slightly. "I would like to handle this alone. You've already done enough. This isn't your burden."

"It's not a burden, Nya." Jay replied. "I'm here for you because that's what a team does."

"Yes, I suppose it is." Nya remarked with a sad smile. "Thank you, Jay. You're kinder to me then I deserve."

"Hey, none of that right now." Jay said, putting a stop to the absolutely deserved pity party. The sweet moment was interrupted by Ray shouting. "Come on you stupid dragon! Fly! Take me to my wife!" From atop Nidhogg's back.

Nidhogg merely shook himself, flinging Ray off his back and went back to licking Lloyd. Lloyd let out an annoyed groan.

"Dad, you ok?" Kai asked, rushing to his father's side. "I'm ok." Ray grunted out, his voice strained.

"I don't think Nidhogg wants to move." Jay pointed out. Ronin opened his scroll and was skimming over the contents. "Yeah, after these scrolls are delivered. Then he'll take us." Ronin informed them. "Mine says the same thing." Dareth added after going over his. "I'm guessing Dareth and I were supposed to hand these out." Ronin concluded, nodding towards the scrolls.

Lloyd tries to shove Nidhogg's muzzle away from himself. "Please stop!" Lloyd pleaded with Nidhogg.

Much to Lloyd relief, Dareth took the scrolls meant for the Serpentine and Pythor via Nidhogg. Lloyd was just thankful that he'd be free form the dragons grasp for a while.

Zane took the one meant for Cyrus Borg. His also had the request to bring his mind-reading equipment. Cyrus Borg used his context clues to suss out that they meant the device head used to see (Y/N)'s memories.

While the rest of the Ninjas and Ray regrouped at Skylor restaurant to open the one addressed to the Elemental Masters.

"Looks like it's an open invitation to explain ourselves if we wish." Skylor said re-reading the scroll over again. "I'm guessing that for any of our predecessors that are still alive." Jay commented, glancing toward the Smith's.

Ray was sitting with his children near the window. Ray was staring out the window in complete shock at the situation. Nya and Kai weren't doing much better. Nya was consoling her dad and Kai was just sitting quietly.

"Sounds about right." Skylor agreed, putting the scroll down. "I'm not sure what to do with the ones addressed to the citizens of Ninjago." Cole said holding up one for Skylor to look at. Skylor took the offered scroll and began to read it over.

"Same thing. Only this one says if they have any grievances caused by Maya they may also present them at the trial." Skylor said after a glance over the document. Jay nodded and went to go sit with Kai as the others continued to discuss amongst themselves.

"Hey." Jay said as he sat down next to Kai. No matter how lightly Kai brushed off his parent's disappearance it had always affected him deeply. Kai let out a deep painful sigh, glancing at his father and sister then turned to Jay.

"For the longest time. It was just me and Nya." Kai said quietly. "I hated them for leaving us alone all this time." Kai paused making sure Ray wasn't listening to what his son was quietly venting about.

Jay gave him a sympathetic look and put a hand on his shoulder. "What about friends?" Jay asked, trying to soothe Kai. "Honestly, I think the first friends we made were you guys." Kai seldomly admitted to Jay.

"It must have been lonely, taking care of Nya alone." Jay spoke in a softer tone. "It was. And now they're back." Kai continued, looking back at Ray, who was staring out the window in shock. "And ones about to be gone again." Kai's eyes glistened with unshed tears. Kai normally wouldn't let this stuff show, but now it was coming out.

"Jay. I'm not ok and I know this is a lot to ask with everything she did to you and everything that has gone on. But please. Look out for my sister, right now I can't trust my own judgement and Nya needs someone to have her back. So Jay please I'm begging you-" "Kai it's ok. I'll keep an eye out for Nya." Jay said, interrupting Kai's pleading.

Kai immediately hugged Jay and Jay hugged him back. "Jay. If them leaving was what was needed for me to meet you guys, then it was worth it." Kai said, hugging Jay tighter. They had all been through a lot together. Even though all the hurt and suffering each went through. Kai would happily go through it again just to meet them again.

The sweet moment between the friends was undercut by a loud bang on a nearby table.

"We can't do nothing. We have to be strategic about this. (Y/N) isn't messing around." Lloyd stated. No one disputed the fact and an awkward silence fell over the room. Half-assing definitely wouldn't fly here. Knighton was different from Ninjago in just about every way imaginable. If worse ever came to worse. Well, they really didn't want to think about that.
