(Y/N) was taking a break from watching over Lloyd. She needed some time alone to herself.

Lloyd was almost in tears when she had said. That she needed sometime to herself. He misunderstood what she said. and though she was leaving him.

It took the ninja Sensei Wu and Nya half the morning to pry Lloyd off (Y/N)'s leg. even with (Y/N) telling him, she wasn't leaving him... yet.

That had been a poor choice of words on (Y/N)'s part. They finally got him to let go when Zane suggested that one of the Ninja would stay by her side until she came back to him.

Lloyd pointed out that (Y/N) could easily beat the ninja and leave that way. Zane then came up with the brilliant idea that (Y/N) would be handcuffed to that Ninja.

And of course, it dawned on Zane's brothers that the Ninja in question would be chained to an angry (Y/N).

So Zane became the designated Ninja.

(Y/N) was glaring at the chain on the handcuff wanting it to melt away. She wanted Ninja free time to herself.

She had to keep telling herself that it could be worse. That she could have been handcuffed to Kai.

But it was hard to concentrate and enjoy the peacefulness when Zane was staring holes into the right side of her face.

So many things had happened, things that stirred up possible memories and things written her book contradicted things the Ninja had told her.

(Y/N) was frustrated to no end, could the Ninja be trusted or not. She couldn't tell and it wasn't like she could ask the ninja if they could be if they weren't and were lying to her.

Zane was continuing to stare at (Y/N).

(Y/N) let out a frustrated cry and shoved her face into her book.

Zane had no idea what he was feeling. Every time he looked at (Y/N), This feeling intensified.

Right now they were sitting underneath a tree trying to enjoy the peace, (Y/N) had let out a frustrated cry and shoved her face into her book.

(Y/N) was reading the small handbook that Jay's parents had found in (Y/N) satchel.

Zane observed the small, hardcovered handbook; Lloyd had told him that the book looked a little scary.

The book was a little unnerving, But Zane understood it was the only thing she had that may be a clue to where (Y/N) had come from.

He could understand her longing to find out where she came from and hoped that she also managed to also find where she came from.

(Y/N) shot a glance at Zane in frustration, Zane looked away, blushing. "What?" (Y/N) asked trying to keep a calm voice, and Zane's face turned a deeper red.

"N-nothing." Zane stuttered his face heating up. (Y/N) didn't question it and went back to failing to read her book as she felt Zane looking at her again.

(Y/N) threw her hands in exasperation also pull Zane's left arm up as she did so "What? And don't you dare say nothing." (Y/N) growled at Zane.

Zane stumbled with his words. "Well- uh, I, you see-"

(Y/N) took a deep breath, calming herself. "Never Mind." She said going back to her book.

"I hope you find the answers you are looking for." Zane tells her quietly. "Thank you, Zane I know this isn't your fault I'm sorry that I keep snapping at you." (Y/N) responded trying to keep the peace.

"(Y/N), I understand that you are frustrated... But you can trust us." Zane pleads.

"How?" (Y/N) says before she could stop herself. "till a few days ago you and your Ninja's were my enemy's."

"Just because I have promised to help Lloyd till he no longer needs me does not negate everything you have all done. How can I trust you all?"

Zane pauses for a moment. "We are not your enemy's (Y/N), Ninja's fight for those who can not fight for themselves."

"Yeah right, the first time I meet you, you were attacking Lloyd." (Y/N) scoffed.

"Lloyd was terrorising that village." Zane justified. "No! he wasn't he was a scared little boy who had been abandoned who was desperate for something to eat so he tried to scare himself up a meal." (Y/N) counted.

"I still don't know how Lloyd can forgive you all. After everything your Ninja's and his family have put him through." (Y/N) finished her eyes began to glow again but faded before anything visible could happen.

"And that is so frustrating. If he wanted revenge I could understand but I just don't understand..."

"It doesn't compute to you..." Zane tells her calmly and (Y/N) raise an eyebrow at him.

"It is ok, You are dealing with a lot, and this is hard for you to understand and that is ok; Many things happen that I do not understand also. But there is something you must know." Zane tells her with confidence.

"What would that be?" (Y/N) asked humouring the boy.

"You do not have to go through this alone... I am here and I will sit and listen to you for as long as you need me to and I hope you will one day be able to see me as some you can trust, as I do you." Zane told her.

(Y/N) gives him a questioning look.

"I would enjoy being able to talk with you alone like this more, I would enjoy just sitting down together and enjoying the peace and quiet, I would also be happy to answer any questions you have about Ninjago or everyday things." Zane continued trying to get everything out while he had the chance.

"(Y/N)!" Lloyd shouted out running up to them with the key. "It appears Lloyd could not wait for our break to be over." Zane points out.

"Your break." (Y/N) thought to herself as Lloyd latched onto her and removed the handcuffs.

The three remaining Ninja were setting up a sign. "Ugh, finally. All fixed up and Serpentine free!" Cole exclaimed, and held up the pole with Jay. Kai was making sparks with his hands, but that was all he was able to do.

"Argh, this is frustrating! Our weapons are gone, most of our elemental powers are gone," Kai kept on speaking.

"And thanks to the Devourer, our tank's out of commission, our dragon is hurt, and since the Bounty got destroyed, we don't even have a place to sleep!" Kai continued to complain and whine.

"Oh, shut up Kai, not everyone in the world has elemental powers. Be thankful for what you have, you giant baby." (Y/N) hissed tired of Kai's whining.

"What would you know about that?" Kai asked (Y/N) dangerously.

"Oh nothing, it's just that I worked for Lloyd for a month, and he didn't complain even once and he's a kid."

"So what!" Kai remarked Jay began to shake (Y/N) and Kai were very scary when they started arguing.

"What do you mean? So what!? He's a kid and looks at what he did without having any powers, or funds, all the while sleeping outside in the freezing temperatures with little food,"

"It's was tough and it was painful, but he tolerated it every day. So get over it!" responded to Kai's stupid statements.

"And you guys had a flying ship, with running water, food and a safe warm place to sleep. Think twice before you say anything about hardships Kai, you idiot." (Y/N) warned giving Lloyd a huge hug for being so brave.

"She is right Kai. No one ever said being a hero is easy. Though our good deeds may never make us rich, they make us rich in other ways." Zane noted to Kai.

"Yeah? Well, I don't feel rich." Kai complained. (Y/N) looked like she was about to strangle Kai but Cole stopped her and Jay visibly relaxed.

"I for one, enjoy pitching in. I always wanted to feel like a part of a community. Hey, speaking of which, has anyone seen Nya? She said she was going to help." Jay asked, and Nya came down with a motorcycle, and Sensei Wu in a sidecar.

"And I have. I think I may have found us a place to live!" Nya called out to the Ninja.

"Really? But there's a waiting list a mile long to move into Ninjago City! How'd you do that?" Jay asked looking confused.

"Well, Nya managed to find a real estate agent for us, so we'll be looking around for a place to live." Cole guessed.

"I'm guessing you want to come as well?" Kai hissed at (Y/N).

"No," (Y/N) snorted. "Just because I'm here to help Lloyd doesn't always mean I'm going to stay with you guys. I'll find my own loggings."

"No! Stay with us." Lloyd demanded tugging at (Y/N) cloak. "Lloyd, I'm not leaving you, I'm going to find my own place to sleep at night, Or I'm going to end up killing Kai if I have to stay in a closed off area with him for too long."

"What are you talking about, (Y/N) you stayed with us on the Bounty and didn't harm him." Zane questioned her.

"Zane, I'm the one that kept putting garbage in his bed." (Y/N) pointed out.

"I knew it!" Kai shouted pointing at (Y/N). "I never hid the fact that I was doing it." (Y/N) told him plainly.

"I'm also the one that kept putting his toothbrush in the toilet." (Y/N) admitted with a smirk. Kai started to gag and spit. Cole and Jay laughed.

"This one bedroom, one-half bath is a cozy dream! Who needs extras when everything is within arm's reach? Now, wait until you see the lighting!" Patty Keys cheered and switched on a light. The light bulb flickered, fell then broke.

"Who needs lights when you have this view?" She continued, and opened up a nearby window curtain, revealing a brick wall.

"Why do I smell old people?" Lloyd asked while looking out the window. "I thought that was Kai's breath." (Y/N) teased and Jay had to suppress a laugh.

"Look dolls, I'm trying to work around your budget. This is all you can afford!" Patty Keys snapped, and (Y/N) sized her up.

"Uh, this looks... Promising. Remember guys, Sensei told us our objective is to train Lloyd. Not, kick our feet up in a swanky suite. If this is all we can afford, this is all we can afford." Cole reminded his team holding (Y/N) back.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. Let's not rush into any decisions. I mean if it's really all about Lloyd, don't we need to live someplace that will make his training easier?" Jay stopped Cole from making his decision.

"Jay's right, if we have to get Lloyd ready to save Ninjago from his father, shouldn't he at least have his room?" Kai asked Cole, agreeing with Jay.

"Technically that does not matter. The onl-" Zane was cut off by Kai's arm digging into his chest abruptly.

"I do have another property that you'll just love!" Patty Keys cooed, and (Y/N) squinted her eyes this was going to be a trying day but it wasn't her problem.

"You've been awfully quiet. What gives?" Lloyd whispered to (Y/N), and she tilted my head. "The same to you." (Y/N) whispered and followed Patty and the Ninja to a new building.

As they went inside, Patty Keys used a card to activate the elevator and selected the top floor. It took about a minute before they all reached the top.

(Y/N) looked extraordinarily uncomfortable another thing she didn't like about Ninjago City, was the enormous vertical buildings they were not designed for defence or escape in mind.

Everyone followed Patty to the automated door, and she put in a code. The door opened silently and slowly, and the Ninja's and Lloyd gushed in amusement (Y/N) turned up her nose at the decadence.

"Now, this is the eight-bedroom hero suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows, digital wall televisions, state of the art game console." She stated out the perks of the suite, and (Y/N) continued to glare in discussed at this place.

"Uh, it seems a little out of our price range." Cole pointed out to Patty.

"Oh sure it costs a little more, but you deserve it! I forgot to mention, there is also a dragon keep on the roof." She off-handedly replied. (Y/N) could see through the woman tactics... But it wasn't her problem it was a Ninja problem.

"Nice!" Cole smiled, seemingly convinced to rent the place. (Y/N) rolled her eyes.

"Maybe we can get a hero discount. After all, we are the Ninja who saved the city." Jay tried to get a discount. (Y/N) snorted at Jay's poor attempt at manipulating the lady.

"I thought Lord Garmadon saved the city." Patty replied, and Jay folded his arms and kind of pouted.

"Or we could get day jobs, to pay for the extra expenses." Kai suggested.

"We always said we could use a bit more responsibility." Zane noted, trying to convince everyone else.

"But we have to train Lloyd." Kai pointed out, and Patty smiled.

"Did I mention the in-house training facility?" She smirked as she pressed a button on a remote, and a wall opened up to show a training room.

"We'll take it!" All the Ninja exclaimed, agreeing on getting the place. (Y/N) shook her head at the boys.

"Alright then, I'll get the papers." Patty cooed, and she left the room. (Y/N) followed her out really wanting to get out of the building.

"This is exactly what we need! Once we get a roof over our head, we can begin to properly train Lloyd" Jay says with a smile.

"Good! 'Cause if we know Lord Garmadon, he's not gonna take any brakes! And let's not forget, the Serpentine are still large." Cole points out to his team.

"Excuse my ignorance... but why are flying the opposite direction of the Ninjasss? When you have the golden weaponsss in your possession." A Hypnobrai asked Lord Garmadon.

"Because they have my son. And it is written that he will one day defeat me. He also has (Y/N) as his guardian, and she is not to be underestimated, and What good would turning Ninjago into my image be, when that victory will be fleeting?" Lord Garmadon ranted.

"Then we destroy Lloyd and (Y/N)!" A Constrictai says.

"Lock him in the brig!" Lord Garmadon demands angrily and the Constrictai was taken away. "No one will touch my son!" Lord Garmadon orders. "Or that girl... no one will take away the one that makes him happy!"

"But by getting rid of Wu, and those pesky ninjas, Lloyd will never reach his full potential! The prophecy will never be fulfilled... and Ninjago will be mine... FOREVER!" Lord Garmadon continues to rant and the Serpentine.

"But, why are we flying away?" A Constrictai asked.

"Because we are flying to the Golden peeks! Birthplace of the golden weapons! Even they have secrets yet to be unlocked and once I uncover their full potential. Nothing will stand in our way." Lord Garmadon says and turns on the engines.

 ___Timeskip____

"I can't feel my feet!" Cole yelled out, looking down at his submerged feet.

To pay the rent, the Ninja's took day jobs. Jay was driving out pizza. Cole was working as a guard at the bank.

Zane was cooking and Kai took a job as a ninja at children's party. While they did that, Lloyd was running in the training room, (Y/N) still hadn't returned.

"There were so many of them, and they wouldn't stop!" Kai sighed, using a towel on his face, completely exhausted.

"My gears locked up several times. I didn't even know my gears could lock up!" Zane exclaimed, putting oil on his elbows.

"I don't even have enough energy to play video games." Jay spoke, collapsing in front of the video game console.

"But I thought you were going to train me when you got home." Lloyd stated, looking at the exhausted four.

"Sorry champ, but we can't until we make rent. How close are we Jay?" Cole sighed, looking towards Lloyd sadly as Jay checked the rent jar.

"Is this jar getting bigger, we're not even close!" Jay yelled out, shaking the jar.

"And our rent is due tomorrow." Zane noted.

"I can pull a double-shift." Cole offered.

"And I can do overtime." Zane agreed.

"Maybe I can sling a few more pizzas." Jay suggested.

"And I can make a little extra if I do the human pinata." Kai pointed out.

"Then our priorities are set, tomorrow, we make rent." Cole spoke, and Lloyd looked at Cole.

"And, uh, what about me?" Lloyd asked the earth ninja.

"How about you help out and fetch me some more ice, huh?" Cole asked, and Lloyd sighed.

___Timeskip___

All the ninjas were fired. But they didn't have time to think about it. Jay had been captured by Scales and the other Serpentine Generals. Jay was tied up with ropes and left down in the subway.

The three remaining Ninjas were now peeking through the ceiling, waiting for the train to come. When the train passed by they jumped down on its roof.

"Ssoundsss like we have company boysss!" The Venomari General Acidicus said. "But I only heard three... aren't there five?" The Constrictai General Skalidor questioned.

"No, ssssstupid!" "We caught one of them!" "And the girl isss loyal to the child." "Not them." The Fangpyre's General Fangtom hissed at him.

"Does anyone see a way to get inside!?" Cole ask. "Not without a ticket!" Kai Joked.

They looked around again but then an arm came up through the roof. It pulled Kai down. "I believe Kai just found it." Zane Joke back.

"Nindroids first." Cole says to Zane to be the first one to jump down.

"Oh, you are such a gentleman." Zane said and jump down. When he came down he saw Kai being held by Skalidor. Cole then comes down and lands on Zane's back.

"Let go of me, snake!" Kai spat at Skalidor. "Welcome to the--" Skalidor says getting hit by Kai.

"Care for a drink?" Acidicus says and spits venom at Zane and Cole. Cole hides behind Zane. "Sorry 'bout that." Cole apologised.

"That's quiet alright!--" Zane says but gets hit by the fangpyre's staff Fangtom laughed as he did. 

"But... that stings a little... let me have this dance snake!" Zane says and grabs Fangtom around his waist. Zane then threw him all over the room.

"One down, two to go!" Cole shouted, only to get hit by the same snake.

"These Serpentines are a lot harder to defeat without our weapons!" Kai points out. "How did (Y/N) do this." Zane cries out.

"Just keep fighting! We're not gonna let these fools get away with this!" Cole says while dodging a hit, then striking back at the Serpentine.

"Get away?" We're not trying to get away." "We're just trying to disssstract you long enough sssso that Ssscalesss can kidnap Lloyd and (Y/N)!" Fangtom laughs. "What!?" Kai exclaimed.

"We couldn't care less about the money" "We just wanted the boy and girl." "She's rather cute." "Do you think Lord Garmadon, will let us keep her?" Fangtom mocked the Ninjas

(Scales P.O.V)

Scales lowered himself down on a window cleaning cart, finding the right window and a circle of glass from the window and slithered through.

"Hello? Little one?" Scales calls out slithering through the window to the Ninja's apartment.

He checked the kitchen; helping himself to what was in the fridge, the living room; looking under the couch cushions, and the training room; having a go at the training equipment.

Skales call out for Lloyd like he was a lost dog. "Lloyd, here boy. I have treats."

Scales rubbed the back of his neck and continued to search through all the Ninja's rooms for the boy taking the opportunity to go through the Ninja's belongings as he did he tried on some of their clothing.

"Lloyd, here boy." Scales continued to call out. Then there was a knock on the door, that was followed by Sensei Wu's voice.

"Hello! What's going on in there?!" Just as Nya kicked open the door.

Scales froze in place standing there in the Ninja's clothing. Sensei Wu and Nya also froze in place upon seeing this.

The Ninja's came running into there apartment Zane stopped at the destroyed door.

"Lloyd?" Cole called out. "He's not here." Nya told them sadly, Sensei Wu's head was hung in defeat.

"We shouldn't have left him." Kai cried out.

"We shouldn't have taken those jobs in the first place. What were we thinking? Cole sighed also defeated.

"Losing him is by far our greatest loss." Sensei Wu said unable to lift his head.

"Whoa! What happened here?" Lloyd shouted walking through the door. "I'm going to say someone forgot their key." (Y/N) guessed walking in with Lloyd.

"Lloyd! (Y/N)!" All of the ninjas exclaimed causing (Y/N) and Lloyd to jump. Nya and Sensei Wu looked relieved.

"You're okay!" Kai shouts at Lloyd. "Why wouldn't I be?" Lloyd shouts back clinging to (Y/N).

"I think we have missed something important." (Y/N) tells him.

Sensei Wu informs the pair of latecomers that Scales had broken in why the Ninja were gone.

"Where were you?" Nya asked Lloyd. "I was with (Y/N) at her place. No ones ever here." Lloyd told her.

Everyone looked at (Y/N), "You are all starting to weird me out." (Y/N) tells them.

"We would like an explanation of how you found a place?" Sensei Wu explains.

"I already said that I would find my own place to sleep and since everyone asks that Patty Keys lady where to live, I asked if that place you all turned your noses up at was still available so I did a bunch of jobs and gave her the money." (Y/N) informed the old man.

"I guess we learned your not one who needs all the fancy stuff." Nya said with a smile.

"You want us to help you clean up?" Lloyd asked looking at all the mess. "I do not clean up after Ninja." (Y/N) says firmly.

"Hold on, I've got a better idea." Cole spoke out. "Really?" Lloyd asked gesturing to all the mess to Cole.

"Yep, let's pack up and head down to (Y/N) place." Cole told everyone.

"You're heading where!?" (Y/N) demanded not liking Cole's plan. "Please." Jay begged.

"No. What part of own place-" (Y/N) began but was cut off by Lloyd. "But you let me sleep at your place."

"That's different; You're a small child, they're full grown idiots and they're not my responsibility. I only agreed to help you." (Y/N) explains to Lloyd.

"Please." Lloyd begged. "Give me a good reason. You're a forgiver and I do not forget those who have crossed me." (Y/N) challenged, Zane's gave off a small smile at this.

Lloyd tugged on (Y/N)'s arm and whispered into her ear. The Ninja's, Nya and Sensei Wu waited to see what the decision would be.

"Alright, Lloyd made a pretty good case for the lot of you." (Y/N) admits to the group.

"Yes." The Ninja cheer. "But..." (Y/N) continues and the Ninja stop cheering. "There will be conditions." (Y/N) warns.

"Conditions?" Jay questions tempering his expectations.

"Nya, will keep her brother on the shortest leash possible and as far away from me as she can." (Y/N) states pointing at Kai.

"Agreed." Nya says stepping over to her brother. "He'll be no trouble; you have my word."

"Ninja's will clean up after themselves." (Y/N) say firmly. "Agreed." Sensei Wu says taking a sip of his tea. "My students will clean up after themselves, It will be good for them to have responsibility."

"Cooking will be left to Ninja." (Y/N). "Zane and I can handle that." Cole tells (Y/N). The rest of the Ninja pull faces at the thought of Cole's cooking.

"And you will all thank Lloyd." (Y/N) finished. "Thank you, Lloyd." Everyone said at once.

___Timeskip___

"It's not much, but this one bedroom, one-half bath is a cozy dream. Who needs extras when everything is within arm's reach?" Cole said mimicking Patty Kays.

As Lloyd moved a stool but he accidentally hit the chest Jay and Kai were holding, which caused the two to drop it, and it landed on Kai's foot.

Kai started holding his foot, and jumping in pain."Ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow,ow!" Kai repeated while jumping on one foot.

"Feels like home to me. Hey, at least we get to stay in Ninjago City for a little while." Jay says optimistically.

"And now without the distractions, we can put all of our energy into training Lloyd." Zane stated, getting pushed by Lloyd's stool.

"Who's there?" Lloyd asked, and Zane helped the boy carry the furniture piece.

"I know the Serpentine Generals got away, but you never told us, what happened to Skales?" Kai asked, looking towards his teacher.

"Oh, he found a home too. But it's not quite as roomy as here." Sensei Wu says sitting down.

Skales was sent to prison, still wearing a pair of Kai's boxers on his head.

(Y/N) place a box on the floor. "Good for him." She said not understanding what Sensei Wu had said.

Jay, Cole and Zane let out a sigh at that. They would try to explain the concept of prison to her in the morning.

As they all slipped into there sleeping bags, (Y/N) paused for a moment and said. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask, what is a dragon?"
