On the television, Cyrus Borg was revealing his newest invention.

*Cyrus: The wait is over! The future has arrived! The BorgWatch. Launching today.*

"Incredible. A wall-mounted window for displaying thirty-second dramas!" Acronix said in utter amazement.

Krux turns the TV off. "Those dramas are called commercials. Cynical films playing off of consumers' insecurities to convince them to purchase that which they do not need." Krux spat he hated commercials.

"So cool. I am jealous, brother. You got to experience the last forty years of progress. Hot beverages at the touch of a button, a beadless abacus, instant communication." Acronix said with childish wonder.

"Worthless. All of it." Krux sighed. "I absolutely despise modern life." Krux bemoaned.

"But it's filled with wondrous things we couldn't have even conceived of forty years ago! Like this amazing thing." Acronix said holding up a BorgPad.

"A BorgPad! Vile contraption!" Krux spat in utter disgust. Oh, how he despised the modern age.

"I got it at the museum's gift shop. A piece of glass that performs music." Acronix said and started playing music.

Music: Ninja, go! Ninja, go! Come on, come on—

"Creates a permanent visual record of any event." Acronix said and simultaneously takes a photo of Krux. "There's even games!" Acronix stated in amazement.

"I hate those infernal devices most of all! Everyone perpetually plugged in, distracted like infants by bright lights and sound." Krux growled in annoyance.

"Yes! Smashed all the candy!" Acronix shouted, becoming distracted by his game.

Krux let out a cry of annoyance as Acronix continued playing on his BorgPad.

"Aw, yes! Slice that fruit!" Acronix cheered. Krux fed up with his brother's antics takes it away from him. "Hey!" Acronix shouted about to jump up and snatch it back. When Krux shoved a helmet into his face, distracting the younger twin.

"What's with the getup?" Acronix questioned as he inspected the helmet. "It's not for us." Krux said and revealed a tank filled with eggs.

"Soon, we shall return Ninjago to its pre-modern glory." Krux proudly declared. "Yes. Heh. I like that." Acronix said agreeing with his brother.

(Third Person P.O.V)

After that humiliating encounter the Ninjas had been permitted to leave after (Y/N) finished her virement tongue lashing.

The Ninja slunk away now hiding inside the museum after that defeat.

Jay was punching some numbers on the vending machine and out popped a bag of ninja chips.

"How does she keep finding all of these ex-henchmen and getting them to come work for her?" Jay questioned Cole as he started devouring the chips.

"Jay. Buddy. I have no idea. But let's face it being on the receiving end of her wrath isn't exactly fun." Cole pointed out as he rubbed his sore muscles.

"Fair point." Jay admitted and returned to his bag of chips. "Where'd Zane sneak off too?" Nya asked the guys as she did a headcount. "Said something about needing to see Cyrus Borg." Kai casually informed his little sister. "Said something about needing a bigger database." Kai said with a shrug.

"For what?" Nya asked. Kai simply just shrugged again. "Beats me." Kai responded. "How's Lloyd?" Kai asked. Nya looked over to where the green ninja was sitting, rubbing irritably at the tears stinging his eyes. "He's... heartbroken. He can understand why (Y/N) would choose to work with Morro of all people." Nya explained.

"It's all because of that wish. She doesn't remember what Morro did to them both." Cole sombre spoke up. Nya let out a bitter sigh. "I wish none of that ever happened." Nya said sitting on the ground.

"Hey, don't beat yourself up, sis." Kai pleaded with her. "Yeah, (Y/N) will do it for us." Jay snorted, causing everyone to give him a dirty look. "Ok, too soon." Jay commented holding his arms up in defeat.

(Third Person P.O.V)

When Zane arrived at the BorgStore. He was happy to see that Cyrus was able to make time to speak to him.

"Zane, wonderful to see you again." Cyrus commented as soon as he spotted the Master of Ice. "Is there something I can help you with?" Cyrus politely asked.

"Yes, you have deciphering software of vast amounts of languages known to Ninjago, yes. I find that I am in need of borrowing it for a short time." Zane explained to his friend.

"Of course. But may I ask what for?" Cyrus questioned the Master of Ice. "It has something to do with (Y/N). Earlier I saw that some part of her arm was glowing." Zane quickly explained.

"At first I thought it was some form of UV tattoo or blacklight tattoo in the form of some strange symbols." Zane continued to explain.

"Hm, those kinds of tattoos are made with dyes that fluoresce visibly under an ultraviolet light, not unlike fluorescein or rhodamine. Depending upon the ink chosen a UV tattoo can be nearly invisible when illuminated only by light within the visible spectrum." Cyrus explained to the Master of Ice.

"But then I realised that it was giving off an energy signature and was not, in fact, a tattoo. And that I am positive I have seen the symbols somewhere before when I was helping you with research." Zane conversely stated.

"I see." Cyrus said after a short pause. "You may use the backroom of this store to hook up to the database." Cyrus offered and lead Zane into the back room. "But we will have to be quick. I have to give a speech in ten minutes." Cyrus Borg warned Zane.

Zane nodded and immediately set to work. If he was right he may have just found a much-needed clue to the conundrum that was (Y/N).

Cyrus Borg helped Zane plug into the master computer at the back of the store. Along with Cyrus Borg's master password and supervision. Zane began his search

It wasn't long until Zane finally came across something of use. Some very complicated characters that were very similar to the ones he'd seen on (Y/N)'s right arm.

Zane was able to pull up some corresponding data on the complicated characters.

"Talismanic Characters." Cyrus Borg read aloud from the computer screen.

The early Taoist Sects from the folk society inherited and developed folk sorcery, which became a part of Taoism. New sects that appeared often created their own talismans and compiled their own books of talismans. Further developing into volumes and volumes of talisman books. As of current recordings, there are over 500 volumes of talisman books.

Zane paused at this. "So there may be too many known and unknown symbols for me to find the correct corresponding ones." Zane contemplated in frustration. It appeared as though he'd only managed to find yet another dead end.

"Zane, what about this?" Cyrus asked. "Most of the Taoist Sects originated from sorcery and as a result, the activities of dispelling the spirits became one of the magical skills of early Taoism." Cyrus Borg said reading a line aloud.

Zane began to read along with what Cyrus Borg had pointed out to him.

Taoist Talismans are mainly composed of characters while others consist of astrological diagrams or objects for casting spells, and some of them even have divine images on them.

If one was able to understand all the writings of the talisman. One could register and invoke thousands of souls and control hundreds of spirits. There was nothing that could not be done. This led to the development of Taoist Dark Magic.

Zane froze. "Dark Magic? As in the kind Clouse used?" The Master of Ice questioned aloud.

Taoist Dark Magic Talismans are used to command ghosts, spiritual soldiers from the underworld and other such beings to disturb and destroy one's enemies.

"Hela was a Necromaster. Someone who could use Dark Magic to control the dead." Zane theorised. "Zane I believe you are on to something." Borg said patting the nindroid on the back.

"Unfortunately I have to give my speech. We will have to continue this later." Cyrus apologised. "Not at all." Zane stated as he unplugged himself. "Do feel free to stay and enjoy the opening Zane." Cyrus offered with a warm and welcoming smile.

"I will do just that." Zane said accepting the invitation to stay and enjoy the opening.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"I... I don't believe it." Kai said in complete disbelief. "What is that?" Nya loudly gasped as she joined her brother's side.

"I think it's a portrait of... our parents." Kai said, still in shock at the discovery. "Whoa! This dates to when I was, like, 3 years old." Nya said, taking a look at the back of the painting.

"Shortly before they disappeared. We know so little about them, Nya." Kai said sadly. God, how he missed them. So much.

"Father was the Elemental Master of Fire. Mother was the Master of Water." Nya said studying the portrait. It had been so long that Nya had almost forgotten what they looked like.

"And they left us the old blacksmith shop and little else." Kai said looking down. "They left us our powers." Nya said as she conjured a ball of water.

"Guys, look what I found!" Cole called out to his team. Nya lets her ball of water fall on the floor as she and the others come up to Cole, who is looking at a giant portrait.

"Uh, isn't that Garmadon?" Jay said. "It is." Cole said and turned to Lloyd, who is slowly walking up to them. "Lloyd, that's your dad." Cole pointed out hoping to shake the green ninja from his thoughts.

"And there's Sensei Wu." Kai commented. "He looks so...young." Nya said, chuckling slightly.

"Look at them, my father and my uncle, Ninjago's two greatest Elemental Masters. I wonder if I'll ever live up to their legacy." Lloyd said aloud.

"First Kai and Nya, now Lloyd. It's family picture day at the museum." Jay said with a laugh, trying to lighten the mood.

"This must be the battle Sensei Wu mentioned." Cole said. "The one with the Masters of Time."

"Yo, look it's a picture of (Y/N)." Jay blurted out. "Jay, that's not (Y/N)." Nya giggled. "That's a painting of her ancestor." Nya explained. "Oh." Jay said rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"So this is...?" Kai questioned. "According to the plak. This is Eris. Daughter of General Arcturus. The Elemental Master of Karma during that time." Nya read aloud the description.

"Wow!" Cole exclaimed. "I can see how Jay mistook it for (Y/N). That one strong family resemblance."

"Ha, yeah. Family." Kai muttered, unable to make eye contact with the portrait. "Look I'm going to..." Kai's eyes spot the gift shop. "...going to go to the gift shop." Kai said coming up with an excuse to leave.

"Do you think this will ever be better between us?" Lloyd asked out loud. "All the pain and hurt between clans. Do you think it will ever heal?" The question hung in the air for a while before someone spoke.

"I hope so." Nya said honestly. It would be nice to have peace for them all.

"Guys! There's something you need to see. Hurry!" Kai shouted and led them to the gift shop.

On television in the gift shop: *Dareth: That's why I camped out all night. I'd never miss a BorgStore product debut. BorgPad, BorgPod, I even bought the Cyrus PDA. I guess you could say I'm the company's Borg-est fan. Ha. Get it? Hahaha! Anyway, I'm pretty excited.*

*The crowd cheers as Cyrus reveals himself.*

*Cyrus: Not so long ago, if you wanted to tell time, you had to look to the sun, or a clock, or your wristwatch, or ask a friend. The point is, there had to be a better solution. Something merging advanced electronics. And there is. Today, I am proud to announce...that we are changing time itself. I present to you... the BorgWatch!*

*The crowd's screams and flees.*

*Cyrus: Uh, really not the reaction we were going for. (The video pauses on a strange red samurai on the footage.)*

*News Reporter: That was the scene just moments ago in downtown Ninjago, where the launch of the new BorgWatch was tragically marred by a samurai.*

"Yeah, too bad there's only one samurai. They don't really need all of us." Lloyd said in a funny tone. "So, how do we decide who gets to deal with this?" Kai asked with a wide grin. "We could just see who gets there first!" Nya offered with an equally sly smile.

"Race ya!" They all yelled at once and raced to BorgStore.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"Even the normally um—Wow. It's chaos here. I've never seen such destruction! Well, okay, I have, but it's been a while and you never really get used to it." Gayle admitted to the camera.

"Hey! You messed with the wrong purveyor of high-quality consumer goods, hombre. 'Cause this BorgStore is friends with me! The Brown Ninja! The Ninja of Heart! Drop the laptop." Dareth declared.

The strange red samurai does just that. Smashing the laptop onto the ground. "You animal! I didn't mean literally!" Dareth shouted. Lamenting the destruction of the Borgproduct before him.

"Dareth this is not the time." Zane objected, pulling his own mask over his face. "Be careful boys." Cyrus warned the brave pair trying to defend his store from this samurai.

The Time Twins were watching from the top of a building from across the street.

"What's happening down there?" Acronix whinnied at his brother who was hogging the telescope.

"Our Vermillion Warrior has picked up the man in the brown jumpsuit, is holding him over his head, and—Oh! Brown Jumpsuit's going to feel that in the morning." Krux reported turning his head slightly away to avoid watching the carnage.

"I meant Cyrus Borg!" Acronix snapped at his big brother. "Our warrior is supposed to kidnap him."

"Patience. He will." Krux said returning to watching. "When? It's like you ordered him to destroy the BorgStore first then grab Borg! You did, didn't you?" Acronix accused. "Mm-hmm." Krux said, ignoring his little brother.

(Third Person P.O.V)

The Ninja finally made it to the correct BorgStore. "Just how many BorgStores does Ninjago city have?" Jay loudly whinnied.

"Is that Dareth and Zane? Maybe they'll—" Kai said just as Dareth gets launched into the air. "Aah!" Dareth screamed through the air before crashing into the Master of Fire.

"Sup? I roughed him up. But he's tougher then he looks." Dareth warned pulling himself up. "Yeah! Haha!" Kai said giving Dareth a shove off of himself and standing up. "Hey! Aah!" Dareth objected to being roughly shoved.

Kai marched straight into the BorgStore. "Wait! Aren't you going to draw your sword?" Nya shouted after her hot-headed brother.

Kai smugly snorted. "I'm good, sis. Okay, I think I can handle one lousy sa—" Kai didn't even get a chance with the samurai warrior who punches him square in the gut sending the Master of Fire flying back across the street.

Kai let out a pained groan. "Who's next?" Dareth asked, really hoping it wasn't him. "Hang on, guys. There's something I've been wanting to try again." Cole said, taking the lead.

"Oh, what? That Earth Punch thing you were talking about? Cole, maybe you should-" Jay objected but Cole didn't listen, his arms a glow. "No problem." Cole said punching the Warrior. Dissolving it into a swarm of normal orange snakes.

"Whoa!" Lloyd gasped.

"Gross!" Kai gagged.

"You—You totally disintegrated him!" Jay said in disgusted disbelief.

"I-it was an accident." Cole pleaded his innocence.

"Look!" Nya said as the orange snakes slivered back inside the Vermillion Samurai armour re-conformering back into its warrior form.

"Whoa." Nya gasped.

"Ew! Grosser!" Jay gagged.

"I'm starting to think we might have underestimated this guy." Kai said, second guessing his decision.

"It must be after Cyrus Borg!" Lloyd said. "Zane, get Cyrus Borg out of here. We'll deal with the samurai." Lloyd commanded.

"Right this way, doctor." Zane said helping wheel Cyrus Borg to safety, leaving the now destroyed BorgStore behind.

"Come on, team, we've done this before. There's more than one way to stop a snake." Lloyd declared.

"It works! He's practically unstoppable." Acronix said having taken the telescope from his brother. "But the Ice Ninja is trying to get Borg to safety." Acronix reported.

"Good." Krux said with a sly smile as he hatched more Vermillions. "Although, I hadn't expected the Ninja. It's a good thing we have reinforcements." Krux said braking open the eggs he'd brought with them.

The serpents slithered out and into the nearby armour forming into two Vermillion Samurai's.

"Go!" Krux ordered and the pair obeyed. As Krux slipped into his Dr Saunders disguise.

"Okay, big guy, that is as far as you go." Cole declared blocking the Vermillion Samurai's path effectively stopping it from going after Zane and Cyrus as they escaped down an alleyway.

"You said there was more than one way to stop a snake! Which way do you wanna try now?" Jay asked. "Um, any of them?" Lloyd started pulling out his swords.

"Ninja, go!" The five ninja declared each performing Spinjitzu bouncing the Vermillion Samurai around between them.

The Vermillion Samurai simply reforms again only this time he is joined by two more Vermillion soldiers ready to fight the Ninja.

"Oh come on!" Jay whines. "More of them?"

Nya manages to knock the middle the Vermillion Samurai back into the BorgStore with a torrent of water.

"Oh, no, you don't!" Jay declared using his Lightning on the puddle Nya made because of the water blast before the Vermillion could regenerate.

To Jay surprise the snakes didn't reform this time. "That's it!" Jay shouted. "Guys! I know how to stop these things! We gotta keep the snakes from getting back into the armour and reforming!" Jay reported.

"Great how?" Kai demanded, he didn't want to admit to this but he was getting a bit winded.

"Nya, use your Water power!" Jay instructed. Nya did as asked, hosing down the three Vermillion Samurai. Jay combines his Lightning with Nya's water attack electrifying the snakes and sending the snakes slithering back into the sewers.

"Guys, it's working!" Lloyd said. "Haha! Look, guys. Electric eels! Oh, come on, that was a good one!" Jay laughed in triumph.

"Nice job. They're gone!" Nya said, taking a breath. "For now. But I wonder, who were they?" Kai said, holding up a helmet. "Good question. Come on. Let's go get Zane and Cyrus Borg. So he can you analyse them." Lloyd stated.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"What are those...things? And what do they want with me?" Cyrus questioned the Master of Ice.

"I don't know, but we will find out!" Zane said as they rounded the corner. Only to be encountered by Dr Saunders.

"Well, this is a surprise. I didn't expect to see you." Cyrus gasped in surprise.

"Who did you—" Zane didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before He was knocked out.

(Third Person P.O.V)

"Zane?" Lloyd called out for his friend. But no reply came.

"It's safe! You can come out now. Mr Borg?" Cole said but also receiving no reply. "Hey." Cole said as picks up a broken BorgWatch off the ground. "Cyrus Borg's BorgWatch, but no Cyrus Borg!" Cole reported to the others.

"They must be around here somewhere." Nya stated confidently.

"Zane!" Lloyd and Jay gasped when they saw Zane laying on the ground completely unresponsive and spark shooting from his body. Zane had been shut down.

"Oh, no!" Cole said as he ran to his friend. "No, Zane!" Nya said as she and Jay started to examion Zane.

"He's hurt bad." Jay reported. "And with Borg missing..." Jay's voice trailed off. "Um, we could take him to my old Samurai X cave and use the computer there to run diagnostics." Nya stated. The Ninja nod in agreement and start making plans to transport Zane.

(Third Person P.O.V)

Acronix and Krux had safely returned to their underground lair, with Acronix pouting over the events.

"The first run was a success, but we lost much of our armour." Acronix pouted. "I already have my best blacksmiths on it." Krux insisted, hopefully quelling his little brother's oncoming tantrum.

"Will they be able to make enough to suit up the remaining serpents?" Acronix said folding his arms in a huff.

"Oh, I have much bigger plans." Krux said as he opened a door that heads deep into the sewers, leading to an underground nest of Vermillion snakes and eggs.
