The hollow void in my chest tightened as footseps from behind me went faster as my heartbeat quickned with it. Exerting my legs more than their capability. I strode deeper and deeper in to the dark and silent woods except the footseps that follow me from behind. I was alone and defenseless. I don't know why I was running but I had to get away from it. I didn't dare turn around to look at whatever was after me. Raggedly breathing, I bounced on the road.

Sweat dripping from the sides of my head as I ran from the monster. The woods made a path, leading to the edge of a cliff. I huddleed my hands on my chest, keeping my breath as steady as It could get. I had to jump. I don't know why but I had to get away from it. I frimly closed my lids. My ears suddenly picked up the sound of footseps coming nearer. I let go my hands to jump but I was pulled by it. I kicked,yelled trying to wiggle out of it's hold.

" No" I whisper yelled as my throat burned.

I opened my eyes and was greeted by the dull walls of the hospital and the smell of the detertgents. I soon realized where I was when I was reminded about the gunshot and lily

Lily! Where is she? I didn't even had time to think as a pain from my middle shot straight through my nerves. I winced, lightly touching the wound with my hands. I bit my lip when it stung from the touch I just applied. I tried to move my other hand as something held it tightly. I looked down and saw a Damien laying on the bed while holding my hands was tightly as if he didn't, I would fade away.

He didn't even wake up when I yelled. He must be very tired. His already messy hair looked even messier. I gently tired to move my hands out but he held me tighter,as I winced at his strong hold. He loosened his hold after a while I quickly slipped my hands out. His hands lazily searched for mine. When he can't find it, he got up and stared at me rubbing his eyes. He widens his eyes when he realizes that I woke up. He smiled,grinning from ear to ear.

" Where is Lil......?"

He cut me off, hugging me tight as his chest shook. Wait! Was she crying? I know I needed to explain what I did. I didn't think much about how much this was hard for him.

" How could you do that?" He sobbed.

I felt his tears flowing down on my cloth.

" I am sorry." I hugged him back, ignoring the immense pain, his strong arms crashing my bones.He quickly understood my discomfort and kissed my forehead, letting go as I wiped his tears. I know what I was willing to give up. I know that wasn't fair for him.

" Where is lily?" I asked and his face quickly turned in to a frown.

I know he doesn't like her,now that I have risked my life for her. I am sure he hates her more.

" I don't know after you were...sh.." he paused, "They took her."

I gasped, I was trying to save her and yet somehow it still happened anyway.

" What! Why didn't Suzy and Aby stopped them."

He glared,cussing " Are you fucking kidding me!", He pacing back and forth. " Well I don't know maybe because you were on the verge of death!"

" Okay you don't understand. I couldn't just let them take her!"

I was getting angrier by the minute.

" Why not? Abyssinia and Suzy did it!" He growled,his blue barring in to mine. " And you didn't stop to think once about what I will feel before deciding yourself!"

" You wouldn't have said yes and there wasn't time" I defended.

I know what I did might seem wrong but that is how much I love my friend. She was there when no one was. All those times she strengthen my soul with her words.

" You are right about that. I wouldn't have agreed. I would have agreed to see you die. I would have agreed to let the only good thing that ever happened to me leave! I rather die myself before that happens!"

" I am sorry but that was what I thought at the time, please let's not argue about this and you seem tired so go get some rest. I will be fine." I finally said. I don't want to argue about this with him anymore.

Damien just stood there like as stone, as his eyes concentarted on something as if he was thinking. She suddenly got closer,tugging the strands of my hair behind me as he gave me a smile. Kissing my forehead, his warm breath pushed hair away.

" If she means that much to you. I will get her back." He smiled as I stared at him bewildered." I will kill all those bas***** who though they could touch my woman."

" Wait. I don't want you to do something illegal."

" I won't." He stood up, giving me worried smile, he muttered " I love you."

" I love you too"

" I have some work at the office but I will be back in the afternoon. Suzy and Aby here and they will keep you company."

" Go on I will be okay" I assured him.

He left closing the door. Great I am back to this place again. It was a dull as before, not even the light from the window could make it less depressing. The door was opened again. Suzy and Aby cautiously got. Wearily smiling, they hugged me gently.

" You scared us for a minute there. I thought we lost you." Aby said.

" We were so relieved when the doctor said the surgery went well. You lost a lot of blood." Suzy nodded.

They refrained from talking about lily. I know they were uncomfortable with mentioning her. What kind of business does lily have with those dangerous men? She is just a model.

Damien's POV

I need to get this anger out. After I left the hospital, I told two bodyguards to stay on the look out at the hospital. That stupid William couldn't even protect her. I told him to watch her since I was leaving the city for a few days, but he did nothing. Why would this happen to lily? What kind of shady thing is she involved in? I cursed gulping the vold,burning drink down my throat. It did nothing to lessen the rage in me.

" Look man. Don't drink this early. He sighed "Just take the day off and get some rest. You were up all night."

" And do what? I am good for nothing. I couldn't even protect her." I took another, shivering at the coldness.

" You weren't there. You wouldn't have been able to.." Charles stated, irritated. " At least you know she is safe."

" I don't think we are talking about me anymore." I glanced sideways, before returning my gaze back to the drink.

" Yea well. I am worried about lily. I could sleep lastnight." He ran his hand throught his blond hair. " After the date we had. I liked her but she refused saying I only want her for her looks."

" I didn't know you were that serious about her." I said surprised.

" Yea, I am....I am worried. The police don't have any leads. It sickens me that I can't do anything about it." He took a shot, which almost made me smile. I never see Charles this bumped out because of a girl we had one date with.

" Okay you win. Yours is worse." I sighed.

" Of course it is. Amelia did what she thought was right." He said.

I frowned at this. I am never going to be happy about her doing this type of things for other people.

" I don't want her to die trying to protect others."

" I can't believe you Damien. Selfless is who is she is. You should learn to accept that." He shook his head.

" Easy for you to say. You are not the one who was about to lose. The love of your life." I glared, gulping another one.

" I am sorry. You are right." He spared me a glance. " I want you to help me get her back."

I gave him a nod,but I still hate her. She also the victim in all of this,and she means so much to Amy so I will help.

Before I could answer, a phone call interjected our conversation. When I saw the caller ID. I gritted my teeth. He has some nerve calling me again. I denied the call, getting up from my seat. I walked out.

I entered the abandoned warehouse. I saw William stare at me with his green eyes that were clouded with fear. I am glad he is scared. He failed in the most unforgivable way.

" Sir, I can expl...."

I glared at him, placing my finger on my lip.

"I gave you one simple job. You didn't do it. This was your last chance and you blew it so you are fired." I declared.

" But Sir" He came closer to where I was. I glared at him to back off.

Unless he wanted to face the intense wrath, I am feeling right now he would walk away. He didn't make a move to leave. I whitened my knuckles, punching him square on his jaw. He clutched on my suit.We fell together on the dusty floor. I was on the bottom but I swiflty hovered above him, pinning him to the floor. I punched his nose,making it bleed. He wailed and begged him to let me him go. I sighed letting go, while he stood up wincing.

" Scram before I kill you" I spat and he scurried away, holding his bleeding nose with one hand.
