AS ALEX OPENED the door of her house, she came face to face with none other than Stiles.

Alex got released from the hospital earlier than Lydia because she had healed faster, and her vitals were fine.

Stiles dropped his hand that he was going to knock with.

He held a 'get well soon' ballon, even though he knew Alex was fine. Stronger, even.

"This was the only one left at the store." Stiles smiled sheepishly.

"Thank you, Stiles." Alex chuckled and took the ballon.

"I was heading out to see Lyds. Wanna come?" Alex smiled at the boy in front of her.

Stiles smiled as Alex linked her arm with his, as the two walked over to Stiles's blue Jeep, and took off to the hospital.

••••

Lydia screamed, Alex and Stiles immediately running into the room, Alex running in first.

"Lydia?! Are you okay?!" Alex exclaimed as she ran into the room, Stiles, the doctor, and Melissa following.

They went into the bathroom to find nothing amiss. Except the fact that Lydia was nowhere to be found.

Melissa turned off the tap the shower, which was still running before the others got in.

Alex looked towards the window to find it open.

"What the fuck?" Alex frowned, but heard Lydia's screams from a distance.

Alex went to the window and looked around, still hearing her screams.

She was so loud...

Stiles frowned, as he couldn't hear anything.

"She's still screaming." Alex frowned.

Stiles followed her to the window.

"What? What do you mean, she's still screaming?" Stiles asked and Alex faced him.

"I can hear her. She's..." Alex trailed off.

...not a human. Alex frowned.

But...it doesn't make sense...if she's not a human, then what is she? Alex thought to herself.

"She's what, Alex, she's what?!" Stiles exclaimed, causing the doctor and Melissa to look their way.

"She's....lost." Alex finished, not exposing her true thoughts.

••••

Alex crossed her arms in the back seat of Stiles's Jeep, and watched as Stiles handed Scott the exact hospital attire Lydia was wearing before she went in the shower.

"Alex, can you please help too?" Stiles asked panically.

The girl nodded and leaned closer, so she could talk with the boys properly.

"Are you sure that she was wearing this before she went into the shower?" Scott asked the two, holding the outfit. Stiles and Alex nodded.

"You got it dude." Alex replied.

The two boys glared at her.

"Seriously? At this time of panic?" Stiles asked.

"What can I say? I'm a Full House addict." Alex laughed.

"Okay, enough bickering. We have to find Lydia." Scott added a few seconds later, to which Stiles and Alex nodded.

"I'm not gonna let anyone hurt her." Alex sighed, which made the boys look at her with hopeful eyes. "Not again."

"Alright, well just shove it in your face and let's find her." Stiles replied as Scott sniffed the material, handing it over to Alex, who did the same.

Stiles was about to drive, when Allison stopped him. She walked over to Scott's window.

"Wow." Stiles exclaimed annoyingly, to which Alex slumped back in her seat.

"What are you doing here? Someone's gonna see us." Scott said to the girl.

"I don't care, she's my best friend and we need to find her before they do." Allison replied.

"I said the exact same thing." Alex chimed in.

"We can find her before the cops do." Scott spoke quietly.

"How about before my dad can?" Allison replied, to which Alex sighed.

"We can do that too." Alex chirped in, leaning over again.

"Wait, he knows?" Stiles questioned.

"Yeah, I just saw him and two other guys leave in SUV's." Allison replied.

"Search party." Scott spoke.

"It's more like a hunting party." Allison responded quietly.

"Get in." Stiles spoke as Allison sat next to Alex in the back.

••••

"Scott, Alex, are we going the right way?!" Stiles asked.

"Take the next right!" Alex and Scott yelled at the same time as they stuck their heads further out their open windows.

••••

"She came here? You sure?" Stiles asked as the group arrived at Derek's house.

"Yeah, this is where the scent led us to." Alex replied and walked over to stand next to Stiles.

"Alright, but has Lydia ever been here?" Stiles questioned.

"Not with me." Allison answered.

"Not that I know of." Alex shook her head.

Scott and Allison broke into a hushed conversation, Alex walking a little ahead of the group, trying to catch another scent.

"Ooh, hey. Look at this." Stiles spoke up, and the group turned and walked over to him.

The boy was holding a tripwire.

"What the hell?" Alex murmured.

"You see this? I think it's a tripwire." Stiles continued, glancing at Alex, who frowned at the tripwire.

Stiles pulled it, which sent Scott flinging into the air, the tripwire connected to his ankle.

Alex whirled around and laughed at Scott, covering it up with a cough.

"Stiles?" Scott asked.

"Yeah, buddy—oh." Stiles turned around.

"Next time you see a tripwire...don't trip it." Scott replied and the other three went over to try to help him, but stopped when the boy opposed.

"Wait wait wait." Scott added and the three frowned.

"Shit, he's right. Someone's coming." Alex whispered as she took Stiles's and Allison's wrists in her hands, as she ran off to hide, dragging them with her.

They hid behind a tree as Chris Argent approached Scott, having a little conversation with him.

After Chris threatened Scott, and was out of view and ear shot, Stiles, Allison, and Alex quickly hurried to Scott, who was still hanging from the wire.

"Fucking hell." Alex whispered under her breath.

"You okay?" Allison questioned as Alex's claws appeared at her side.

Alex started cutting through the wire with her claws as the group kept conversing.

"Yeah, just another life threatening conversation with your dad." Scott finished as Alex finally broke the wire, Scott tumbling onto the floor.

"Sorry. I should have warned you." Alex spoke as Scott stood up and dusted himself off.

"Thanks." Scott replied, and added "it's okay. At least now my blood circulation can flow naturally again."

"Yeah." Stiles replied and Scott chuckled breathily as Alex went by his side.

Scott tilted his head slightly. A signal for the group to follow him.

"Comin'?" Alex spoke for Scott with a smile and started walking, Scott following.

"I guess so." Stiles sighed as he and Allison caught up with the two werewolves.

••••

Alex stood close by to the cemetery, where Sheriff Stilinksi was, accompanied by an old, angry looking man, and a boy next to him, that looked to be the same age as Alex.

"Lahey." Sheriff spoke and the grumpy man corrected him.

"Isaac Lahey."

Alex listened in.

The boy—Isaac—looked uncomfortable, as he shifted his feet.

"You said he works for you?" Sheriff questioned the man.

"Yeah, when he's not in school, which he needs to be in twenty minutes." The grumpy man replied, crossing his arms.

Isaac reverted his gaze to the floor. Alex assumed the man was Isaacs father.

What an ignorant guy. Alex rolled her eyes as she thought that.

Isaac and Alex immediately locked eyes, to which Isaac looked at Alex curiously.

Alex held his stare, as Isaac travelled further into the beauty of Alex's deep brown eyes.

He was confused.

What is a girl like that doing outside of a cemetery? Is she here to see someone? Isaac thought as he finally broke his gaze to answer the Sheriff.

The Sheriff kept talking about Lydia, so Alex decided that she didn't wanna be there anymore. She left. That's all she wanted to hear. For now.

When Isaac looked away again, he was assuming that the girl would still be there, however, she wasn't. She was nowhere to be found.

Isaac frowned at this.

"Boy, pay attention." His father growled at him, causing Isaac to snap his head towards his dad in slight fear.

••••

"She ate the liver?" Scott questioned as he walked side by side with Stiles.

Alex caught up to them and squeezed in the middle of the two, as she ignored their irritated gazes.

"Yep." Alex finished for Stiles, who punched her shoulder lightly.

"No, I didn't say that she ate it, I just said it was missing." Stiles corrected the girl. "And you know what? Even if she did, so what? It's the most nutritious part of the body."

Alex frowned at him confusedly, as she clutched the straps of her backpack.

"I never ate someone's liver. I'm sure Alex hasn't either." Scott spoke with a frown as the group continued to make their way into the school.

"Yeah, right, cause I'm sure when it comes to werewolves, you're a real model of self control, Scott." Stiles fired back as Alex chuckled softly.

"Actually, wait—hold on." Stiles spoke as the trio stopped, the lacrosse sticks on Scott and Stiles's backpacks shifting with them.

"You're the test subject for this." Stiles started as Alex raised her eyebrows at Stiles, who was next to her. "So we should be going over what happened to you."

"What do you mean?" Scott questioned.

"I was wondering the same thing, bud." Alex blew out a breath.

"I mean, like, what was going on in your mind when you were turning." Stiles replied and turned to Alex.

"Why are you looking at me for? He's the problem." Alex gestured to Scott, to which Stiles shrugged in agreement. Scott frowned.

"What were you drawn to?" Stiles continued, asking Scott.

"Well, personally, I was drawn to—" Alex cut herself off when she realised that she was going to subconsciously say Stiles. "Nothing, nevermind."

Scott and Stiles frowned as they continued with the conversation, disregarding the comment.

"Allison." Scott replied quietly.

"Okay, nothing else?" Stiles asked annoyingly, as he was fed up with all this Allison business. "Seriously?"

"Nothing else mattered." Scott replied and Alex rolled her eyes. Ugh, romance.

"But, no, that's good, right?" Scott continued and Alex frowned.

"Cause the night that Alex and Lydia were bitten, Lydia was with you." Scott added when no one said anything.

"Yeah...but she was looking for Jackson." Stiles replied angrily.

Alex turned away, focusing on something else to distract her from the overwhelming feeling rooting deep in her gut when Stiles seemed so upset about Lydia and Jackson.

Just then, Jackson arrived at the school, cocky as ever, as he gave a dollar to a homeless man who was digging through garbage.

"Here's a dollar. Go find another parking lot to die in." Jackson said to the poor man, as Alex rolled her eyes, hearing the whole conversation.

"Ugh, the pig is here and he's as cocky as ever." Alex scowled.

"Oh, great. Jackson." Stiles sighed as he immediately knew who Alex was complaining about.

"Well, good luck at practise today lads." Alex spoke and the boys frowned.

"Lads?" Scott rephrased.

"Was worth a shot." Alex shrugged and left the boys to head to practise.

Stiles and Scott chuckled as they made their way to lacrosse practise.

••••

Alex opened her locker as the students flooded the halls busily.

Isaac was walking down the hall, when he stopped in the midst of the bustling students as he noticed Alex.

He noticed how her long, brunette hair rested perfectly on her shoulders. How there was a natural glow to her beautiful brown eyes when viewed in a certain light. He loved it.

Meanwhile, Alex was grabbing her books for the next period.

Isaac immediately followed after the girl as she shut her locker, trying to make her way to the next class.

Isaac pushed through some students to reach her.

Eventually, when Alex was near the door to her next class, Isaac tapped her shoulder lightly.

Alex turned around as her head tilted slightly.

"Hi, uh, I'm Isaac. Lahey." Isaac nervously spoke. "Uh, not Lahey, I'm Isaac Lahey."

Alex chuckled. "It's cool. I'm Alex."

"Nice name." Isaac spoke with a chuckle. He internally cursed himself.

"Thank you, Isaac." Alex smiled.

"Uh, so I'm new here." Isaac continued awkwardly.

"Oh, that's cool, where from?" Alex questioned, clutching her books.

"Um, you know, here and there." Isaac replied with a nod.

"Interesting." Alex nodded. "Well, uh, I've gotta get to class now, but hopefully I'll see you soon?"

Isaac nodded. "Yeah, hopefully."

"It was nice meeting you, Isaac." Alex smiled as she turned and walked into class.

Isaac smiled to himself after the girl went in as he made his way to his next class.

••••

Alex entered the classroom late, picking up a pop quiz from the desk as she placed a late slip on Mr Harris's laptop.

Mr Harris didn't seem to care.

Alex walked in and sat in the chair next to Stiles, placing her bag down.

"Where were you?" Stiles whispered angrily.

"Coffee break." Alex whispered back with a wink as Stiles rolled his eyes.

"Mr Stilinski." Mr Harris spoke, as Stiles snapped his head to him. "No talking."

Stiles's jaw dropped in annoyance as he threw his hands up in the air, letting them fall to his sides as he proceeded to look at his pop quiz.

Both Alex and Stiles glanced at each other briefly before leaning over slightly to whisper to Scott.

"You know, it's causing me severe mental anguish to say this, but he's right." Stiles started quietly, to which Alex frowned.

"Jackson just saying stuff about Lydia being naked in the woods." Stiles concluded for her.

Alex nodded, disregarding any further questions.

"I know." Scott replied.

"What if the next body part she eats will be from someone alive?" Stiles continued and Alex frowned, but continued on with her quiz.

"Mr Stilinski. This is a pop quiz." Mr Harris interrupted. "If I hear your voice again, I'll be tempted to give you detention for the rest of your high school career."

Alex hid her taunting smile as she focused on her pop quiz.

"Can you do that?" Stiles replied.

"Ah. There it is again." Mr Harris boredly spoke. "Your voice. Triggering the only impulse I've ever had to strike a student repeatedly and violently."

Alex frowned and looked at the aggravated teacher.

"See you at 3:00 for detention." Mr Harris concluded.

Stiles's jaw dropped in annoyance.

"You too Mr McCall?" Mr Harris challenged.

"Miss Carter? You want to join him?" Mr Harris added and Alex frowned.

"No, sir." Alex and Scott spoke at the same time.

••••

"So, you live with your dad?" Alex asked Isaac as she and him walked side by side down the semi busy hallways of Beacon Hills High.

"Uh, yeah." Isaac uncomfortably replied as he scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Soft subject?" Alex replied and Isaac nodded. "Don't worry, I get it."

"What?" Isaac questioned, a slight smile taunting at his lips. "How could you possibly understand anything about daddy issues?"

"Long story." Alex replied, shaking off the subject as the two reached Isaac's locker.

Alex leaned against the locker that was next to Isaac's as she crossed her arms.

Isaac took out his books and closed his locker.

Alex saw Stiles further down the hall, trying not to look at Alex and Isaac.

Alex huffed a laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" Isaac frowned with a smirk as he turned around to find Stiles pretending not to look their way. Isaac didn't seem to notice the sly movement.

Alex chuckled and lightly patted Isaac's shoulder. "I gotta go, but I'll see you later?"

"Uh, yeah, sure." Isaac nodded as Alex walked away, heading over to Stiles, Isaac going somewhere else.

"Boo." Alex whispered as she arrived Stiles pretending to read.

Stiles slightly jumped in surprise, but then smiled. "Uh, hey, Alex."

Alex crossed her arms with a raised eyebrow.

"What?" Stiles questioned.

"No, nothing." Alex replied as Stiles frowned.

"You can't just tell me something and then disregard the thought, you have to tell me now." Stiles complained.

"Hmmm. Okay." Alex spoke in response. "Let's start with why you were spying on me and Isaac."

"I—what? Pffft, no I wasn't." Stiles stumbled over his words.

"Okay." Alex simply replied, knowing the truth. "Whatever you say, Stiles."

"Okay, fine, yes, I was." Stiles sighed and Alex smiled.

"There it is." Alex spoke.

"Who is that guy anyway?" Stiles questioned. "Haven't heard anything about him, but he is in lacrosse, so..."

"His name is Isaac, and he just moved here with his dad." Alex replied quietly.

"Oh, okay, from where?" Stiles asked in a hushed tone.

"I don't know, he wouldn't tell me." Alex replied with a shrug.

"Well, find out." Stiles replied angrily.

"Don't you have detention, smartass?" Alex argued and Stiles rolled his eyes before leaving to detention.

"What a dumbass." Alex huffed a laugh and walked away.

••••

"Who the hell is that?" Stiles asked quietly as him, Scott, and Alex were crouched behind a headstone just near where the Argents were having their memorial for Kate.

Chris hugged a strange man, and called him 'Gerard.'

The strange man—Gerard—turned to look at where the three were crouching, and the trio quickly hid behind the stone further.

"Definitely an Argent." Scott replied, not taking his eyes away from the Argents.

"Personally, I don't trust him." Alex added from her spot in between Scott and Stiles.

"Already? He hasn't done anything." Stiles asked.

"He's just got this 'mass murderer vibe' to him, y'know?" Alex replied and Stiles shrugged while Scott frowned.

Gerard then went on to talk to Allison about being her grandpa.

"So this 'Gerard' character is Allison's grandpa." Alex spoke quietly to herself.

"Yeah, that's what he just said." Scott whispered back.

"Shut the fuck up, I wasn't talking to you." Alex whispered to Scott with a roll of her eyes.

Stiles leaned in further, to which Alex could feel his arms resting on her back.

She decided to ignore it.

Meanwhile, Allison caught eyes with Scott, Alex and Stiles. Scott waved slightly, and Alex smiled at Allison. The girl smiled a bit and looked at the ground.

Alex wanted to give her a hug.

"Hey, y'know, maybe they're just here for the funeral." Stiles spoke to the group. "What if they're the non-hunting side of the family? There could be non-hunting Argents, it's possible, right?"

"Stiles, I don't know. Something doesn't feel right." Alex replied and turned to the boy with the buzz cut.

Stiles shrugged.

"Yeah, I agree. I know what they are." Scott said to Stiles. "They're reinforcements."

Just then, Sheriff Stilinski grabbed the back of both Stiles and Scott's shirts and stood them up, while Alex just sighed and stood up.

"Ah, you three." Sheriff started. "Unbelievable."

Stiles chuckled breathily and nervously, while Alex crossed her arms.

"Pick up my tie." The Sheriff said to Stiles, as the young boy borrowed his fathers tie without asking.

"Ah, yeah, I know I'm supposed to ask." Stiles replied as he retrieved his fathers tie.

The Sheriff brought both the boys to the police car with force, while Alex followed close behind freely.

••••

Stiles sat on the left side in the back of the police car, Alex in the middle, and Scott on the right.

They all sighed simultaneously.

"4-1-5 Adam." The policeman through the monitor spoke.

"I didn't copy that, did you say 4-1-5 Adam?" The Sheriff repeated and Stiles perked up to this.

"Disturbance in a car." Stiles whispered to the group, which resulted in Alex and Scott sharing glances.

"They we're taking a heart attack victim, DO.A, but on the way to the hospital, something hit 'em." The policeman spoke over the monitor.

"Wh—hit the ambulance?" Sheriff Stilinski asked.

Stiles and Scott leaned in closer, while Alex stayed where she was, slumped in the middle seat with her arms crossed.

"Copy that. I'm standing there now." The policeman responded. "Something got in the back, there's blood everywhere."

Alex frowned from where she was, as she and Scott glanced at Stiles, who was paying close attention.

"Alright unit four, what's your twenty?" Sheriff replied.

"Route five and post—I swear I haven't seen anything like this before." The policeman spoke panically.

"Alright, take it easy, I'm on my way." Sheriff replied and turned around.

"And now, as for you three—" The Sheriff cut himself off as when he turned, the trio were gone, leaving the car doors open.

••••

Scott, Stiles, and Alex walked cautiously through the star filled woods, staying a fair space away from the stationary ambulance.

They quickly and quietly moved to crouch down.

"What the hell is Lydia doing?" Stiles asked.

"I don't fucking know." Alex replied and Stiles rolled his eyes.

"I don't either." Scott replied.

"What kept you from doing that, was it Allison?" Stiles asked Scott.

"For me, it was just thinking of something or someone that made me happy. Made me think calm and happy thoughts." Alex sighed, remembering her memories.

"And the fact that Derek also kinda helped me focus a little later on." She added.

"Do you need to get closer?" Stiles asked both Scott and Alex.

Alex and Scott slightly sniffed the air and shook their heads.

"We're good." Alex replied.

Before the two could leave, Stiles grabbed Scott for two seconds.

"Just—I need you to find her." Stiles spoke calmly, but shakily.

Scott nodded.

Alex sighed.

"You too, Alex." Stiles turned to Alex, looking into her eyes. He whispered. "Please."

Alex nodded with a whisper. "Of course."

Alex, of course, missed her best friend, but she wasn't gonna ruin the moment.

"Thank you." Stiles whispered quietly and smiled, Alex giving him a sincere smile back.

"Alright." Stiles turned to Scott, speaking normally.

Scott headed out to the woods, while Stiles and Alex stayed with the Sheriff, speaking to him about the whereabouts of Lydia.

Someone peaked through the trees, as Alex looked their way.

"Stiles." Alex spoke without wavering her glance, as Stiles turned to where Alex was facing.

There, stood a naked Lydia Martin, hair messy and unclean. She was shivering, arms over her chest.

"Lydia?" Stiles called.

"Lydia?!" Alex continued.

"Lydia?!" Stiles added as Lydia looked at everyone.

"Well. Is anyone gonna get me a coat?" Lydia questioned, taking her arms away from her chest.

Alex tore her eyes away and decided to look at her face, making sure not to look at anything else, while Stiles couldn't take his eyes off her.

Alex went over to Lydia while Stiles stumbled over his own feet.

"Jesus, here ya go." Sheriff spoke and took off his jacket, handing it over to Alex, who caught it successfully, wrapping the material around the shivering girl.

"Oh my God, Lyds." Alex breathed and hugged the jacketed girl, Lydia hugging her best friend tightly.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked.

"I...I don't know." Lydia replied shakily.

"It's okay. You're safe now." Alex spoke softly as she held Lydia close.
