ALEX FROWNED AT Isaac, as she crossed her arms in question.
"So why couldn't you talk to me at school? You know, like a normal person would." Alex scoffed.
Isaac rolled his eyes. "I'm not a normal person."
"Yeah. I noticed when you turned into a werewolf." Alex replied sarcastically. Isaac looked annoyed.
"You're also a werewolf, remember that?" Isaac asked and Alex hesitantly nodded in defeat.
"At least let me tell you something first." Isaac huffed. "I want to say I'm sorry."
Alex frowned. "For what?"
"For joining Derek." Isaac replied.
Alex was taken aback. "Why would you join Derek?"
Isaac frowned. "I...I don't know, okay? And before you tell me that Derek's just using me to make himself stronger, just remember that you let him help you—"
"At least I wasn't apart of his pack." Alex cut him off. "And how do you know about that?"
"It doesn't matter how I know. All I'm asking for is your support." Isaac spoke.
"My support in what? You joining Derek?" Alex raised her eyebrows as Isaac nodded.
Alex looked at Isaac, as the boy looked at her hopefully.
Alex's brown eyes carefully scanned Isaac's ocean blue ones, as she sighed. "Fine. You have my support."
"Thank you." Isaac smiled, his face lighting up as he engulfed Alex in a hug.
"Okay, come on, it's not that dramatic." Alex chuckled as Isaac pulled away.
"Sorry." Isaac chuckled nervously. "Just happy."
Alex sighed as she hugged Isaac. Isaac was surprised, but hugged her back.
"What's this for?" Isaac asked.
"Good luck." Alex spoke softly. "With Derek, I mean."
The two pulled away and Isaac nodded.
"I'm sorry." Isaac spoke, and before Alex could say anything, the boy was gone.

Alex was walking home, thoughts of Isaac's words flurrying around in her mind, when she got a message from Stiles telling her to pick him up from the car dealership.
A minute later, Alex was already there, as she arrived by Stiles's side. "You okay?"
"Yeah. But I need to talk to you." Stiles spoke quietly.
"Okay, what's going on?" Alex frowned.
"Can we at least go outside? You know, someplace where the police aren't." Stiles whispered and Alex nodded as the two made their way outside.
"This...creature...attacked me and the guy that was fixing my Jeep." Stiles started off in a whisper.
Alex frowned. "Supernatural?"
"Definitely. It scratched the guys neck and the guy just fell down. He was paralysed." Stiles spoke. "And for some reason, my hands were shaking, and before I knew it, I was on the floor too. I tried to text you first, but my hands couldn't do it."
Alex widened her eyes and in a hushed whisper-shout, she spoke. "So there's another supernatural creature here, that happens to paralyse people?!"
"Apparently. Will you keep your voice down?!" Stiles whisper-shouted.
"Okay, okay. We're telling Scott, right?" Alex breathed.
"Yep." Stiles answered almost immediately.
As Alex was about to head off, Stiles stopped her.
"Wait wait wait." Stiles started as Alex stopped and turned around. "I need a ride."
Alex sighed. "Just walk with me."
"Wh—you didn't bring your car?!" Stiles exclaimed.
"You know I hardly use it." Alex replied with a roll of her eyes.
"Fine. Let's walk." Stiles rolled his eyes as Alex grinned.
Just as Stiles said that, Scott pulled up with his car.
"Oh thank god." Stiles chuckled with relief. "I was definitely not gonna walk."
"That's why I called Scotty." Alex chuckled.
Alex and Stiles sat in the car, Stiles sitting next to Scott and Alex in the back seat.
"You were right. It wasn't like you two. It's eyes were...reptilian." Stiles started. "There was something about it."
"What do you mean?" Scott questioned as he shared glances with Alex.
"You know when you see a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can see are their eyes? And you feel like you know them, but you just can't figure out who it is." Stiles continued as Alex and Scott frowned.
"Are you saying you know who it is?" Scott asked almost immediately.
"No." Stiles looked between Alex and Scott. "But I think it knew me."
••••
"I'm teaching you how to survive!" Derek's voice boomed through the factory as Alex frowned. She ran in, Erica, Boyd, Derek and Isaac's gazes falling onto her sharply.
She and Isaac locked eyes, Isaac clutching his arm in pain.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Alex exclaimed, glaring at Derek with wide eyes.
"Alex—" Derek tried.
"I need to talk to you." Alex spoke angrily, pointing at Derek as she raised her voice. "Now."
Derek glared at the three newbies and walked out after Alex.
"What the hell was that?" Alex started, crossing her arms.
"I'm teaching them." Derek replied, his eyes scanning Alex's.
"No, you're torturing them. Not saying Erica didn't deserve it, but she was clearly in pain. Especially Isaac, after you broke his wrist." Alex scoffed.
When Derek didn't say anything, Alex scoffed once again. "This isn't how I remember you teaching me."
"You've changed, Derek." Alex spoke, quieter than last time as she started walking off. "And not in a good way."
••••
"I'm so sorry about the other day. I'm trying. Uh, we'll get through this, uh, I know because I love you." Stiles spoke uncomfortably as he practised Scott's line with Scott, Alex sitting there with a taunting smile.
"I love you more than—oh my god, I can't—you and Allison just have to find a better way to communicate." Stiles gave up.
"Come on!" Scott exclaimed, Alex chuckling.
"I agree. I'd love to see where this goes, to be honest." Alex snorted, earning a glare from Stiles, who was next to her.
"You're the only one we can trust, other than Alex, if Allison's coming to the game tonight." Scott added.
"Yes, okay, message complete. Alright, now, tell us about your boss." Stiles spoke, quieter.
"He thinks that Allison's family keeps records of all the things that they've hunted." Scott whispered, looking around before speaking again. "Like a book."
"He probably means a beastiary." Stiles realised.
"A what?" Scott asked and Alex rolled her eyes.
"A beastiary." Alex rephrased. "Jeez, you didn't research anything at all, did you?"
"Well, why should I when you're here?" Scott spoke and Alex shrugged.
"And I think you mean beastiality." Scott chuckled as if he knew everything.
As Alex was about to argue back, Stiles stopped her.
"Okay, for once I'm breaking up an argument." Stiles mumbled.
"Nope, pretty sure I don't." Stiles replied, talking about the beastiality comment. "A beastiary is an encyclopaedia for mythical creatures."
"How am I the only one who doesn't seem to know anything about this stuff?" Scott asked, annoyed.
"I told you, dumbass, it's because you don't research." Alex rolled her eyes.
"Okay, because you and Alex are my best friends, you're creatures of the night, it's kind of like a priority of mine." Stiles spoke to Scott, his tone obvious.
"If we can find it and they can tell us what this thing is—"
"And who."
"We need that book." The trio spoke at the same time, sighing.
The three all looked at each other in confusion as Alex stood up, Stiles and Scott following after her with no words.
••••
"No, I mean beastiary!" Stiles exclaimed as he spoke to Allison, Alex's arm resting on Stiles's shoulder comfortably. "And the two of you, I don't even wanna know what's going on inside of your heads."
"Okay, um, can you describe this thing?" Allison questioned.
"Uh, it's probably like a book." Stiles sighed. "Old, worn—"
"Like, bound in leather?" Allison questioned with raised eyebrows.
••••
"Yes, seen her grandfather with a book like that." Stiles panted after he ran to Scott, Alex following with a smirk on her face. Stiles seemed to have forgotten that she has enhanced abilities.
Alex just enjoyed Stiles's reactions.
"Where...does he...keep it?" Stiles asked in between breaths as he arrived at Allison, Alex already there faster.
••••
"She said...it has to be...office." Stiles panted dramatically, sweat beading on his brows and face.
Scott closed his locker.
••••
Stiles took a puff from Scott's inhaler as he faced Allison, Alex crossing her arms from her seat next to Allison.
"You know, drug dealers have been using disposable cell phones pretty successfully for years." Stiles spoke, blowing out a breath.
"My parents check every call, email, and text message I send. Trust me, they'd find it." Allison replied as Alex frowned.
"Alright, can you get the book?" Stiles asked exasperatedly.
"Not without his keys."
••••
"Who and what is that genetic experiment gone wrong." Coach Finstock scoffed as he sat next to Stiles.
"They call him 'The Abomination.'" Stiles spoke with a breathy chuckle.
"Oh, that's cute." Finstock scoffed.
"I wouldn't say that." Alex spoke, scaring Stiles and Coach, as the two jumped slightly and yelled in surprise.
The two turned around annoyingly.
"Whoops." Alex shrugged.
••••
Allison held out Gerard's keys, Stiles breezing past and taking them quietly.
"That couldn't be more inconspicuous." Alex rolled her eyes sarcastically as her and Stiles were out of Gerard's view.
"I'd like to see you try." Stiles scoffed with a smile.
Alex then felt a wave of emotions, and for some reason, she didn't know why.
Was it because of the panic attack she had a few days ago?
She felt a warm sensation trickle down her fingers as she looked at her hands. Her claws were out, and they were piercing her skin.
She frowned as she ran off, Stiles calling her name as he tried to catch up to the werewolf.
Alex ignored him as she sat under a tree, uncurling her hands slowly to find her own blood staining her hands.
Why was this happening? Why now?
Then, in a split second, her parents were in front of her. As Alex tried to reach out, they faded away and that's when she knew they weren't there.
Clear words rang out in her head from the night her parents were killed.
They never loved you.
They didn't deserve you.
We did you a favour.
Alex's eyes welled up with tears. And Alex let them fall.
Alex broke into a sob, the pain of losing her parents all over agin was flooding back to her.
She closed her eyes tightly as she tried to stop crying. But she couldn't.
She then heard rushed footsteps approach her.
The figure knelt down in front of the girl, Alex opening her eyes.
"Shit." Alex spoke under her breath as she wiped her tears.
"What happened?" Stiles asked softly as he scanned Alex's face carefully.
"Nothing—I'm sorry you had to see me like this." Alex sighed as she looked away.
"You shouldn't care if people see you cry, Alex." Stiles spoke. "Especially you."
Alex looked at him, scanning his eyes.
"Why?" Alex choked out as her tears kept falling down her face.
Stiles looked at her with an emotion Alex couldn't read. "Because I think you look really beautiful when you cry."
Alex looked up at him as Stiles reached over and wiped away stray tears.
"You're gonna think I'm stupid and crazy." Alex sighed and looked at the ground.
"Alex, you can trust me, okay? You know that. Nothing you say will ever make me think you're stupid or crazy." Stiles replied as the crowd roared from the field.
"Uh, we need to do the...thing..." Stiles spoke and Alex looked at him with a frown.
"So, uh, do you wanna...come? Or...stay here? I'll only be five minutes." Stiles added as Alex sighed.
"No, you know what? I see Lydia. Just...just do the thing. I'll be fine." Alex replied and Stiles looked at her.
"You sure?" Stiles asked.
"Yeah. Go." Alex nodded as Stiles smiled at her, running off.
Alex inhaled a breath as she calmed down, walking over to Lydia's car, only to find her best friend crying.
"Lydia?" Alex softly asked as Lydia wiped away her tears. "Can I come in?"
Lydia nodded and opened the passenger door as Alex climbed in, closing the door after her.
"What happened?" Alex asked quietly.
"I could ask you the same thing." Lydia choked out between sobs.
"How did you know?" Alex asked quietly as she looked away.
"I know when my best friend is off or upset." Lydia chuckled, despite the salty tears falling from her eyes. "And because your eyes are still slightly puffy and red."
"Oh." Alex chuckled softly.
••••
Alex ran to the swimming pool, arriving just in time to see a reptilian creature jump into the roof and out of the building.
"What the hell..." Alex whispered, but then noticed Derek and Stiles sitting near the pool, soaking wet. She ran to them, immediately going over to Stiles, placing her hands on his shoulders instinctively as her, Stiles and Derek looked at Scott.
"You guys okay?" Alex asked as Derek and Stiles looked at her.
"Yeah, we're fine." Stiles nodded.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come sooner." Alex blew out a breath.
"No, it's okay." Derek replied.
••••
"Is that even a language?" Stiles asked as him, Alex, and Scott were researching.
"How are we supposed to find out what that thing is?" Scott frowned.
"It's called the kanima." Derek spoke, Erica following, as Alex, Stiles, and Scott looked at the two with surprise.
"You know the whole time." Stiles deadpanned angrily.
"No. Only when it was confused by it's own reflection." Derek replied.
"It doesn't know what it is." Alex realised.
"Or who." Derek glanced at her.
"Well, what else do you know?" Stiles asked with a sigh.
"Just stories." Derek replied. "Rumours."
"Great. I know I'd personally love it if a bedtime story about a vicious creature that paralyses and tries to violently kill people was read out to me. I'd sleep like a baby. Don't know about you guys, though." Alex sarcastically rolled her eyes.
"But it's like us?" Scott moved on.
"A shapeshifter, yes, but it's not right." Derek replied. "It's like a..."
"An abomination." Stiles finished as Derek nodded as he and Erica started walking away, but stopped when Scott spoke.
"Derek."
"Pretty sure he only said Derek. Not 'Derek and Erica.'" Alex rolled her eyes.
"We need to work together on this." Scott ignored Alex. "Maybe even tell the Argents."
"You trust them?" Derek asked angrily.
"Nobody trusts anyone. That's the problem. While we're here, arguing about who's on what side, there's something scarier, stronger, and faster than any of us and it's killing people!" Scott exclaimed.
"He's got a point there." Alex mumbled and Stiles nodded.
"And we still don't even know anything about it!" Scott exclaimed.
"I know one thing. I'm gonna find it, and I'm gonna kill it." Derek concluded as he walked away.
"Well, I see someone still thinks he has whatever's left of his pride." Alex scoffed as she crossed her arms.
