He was the only hybrid in his class and he didn't like being different from the rest

Tho there was one other Dragonet who was rude to him about it and that was Prince Adder

He thought he was so special cause he was the first born Dragonet to King Smolder

Tho Prince Adder was a year older than him cause he was one Adder was two

His mother told him he just special

Then someone crashed into him or he did he wasn't paying attention

"Watch it" Adder told him and stalked away

Why dose he have to be such a jerk to me all the time?

He continued down the hall

His second hatching day was coming up tho so he could look forward to that but Adder was probably going to ruin it

He shared a room with his parents

He walked in and saw his mother reading a message

"Hi Qibli. What do you think about taking Nightdust to meet Pomegranate and Winter and have his hatching day in sanctuary?" His mother Moon asked

"Uh dad isn't in the room but I think the idea is good" Nightdust told his mother

"Oh my moon's sorry thought you were your father but alright I'll check with him before we make a final decision that's why I was going to ask him first" Moon replied

"So not to get my hopes up" Nightdust finished

He was quite the smart dragonet

It was another thing he got teased about

Why was he the one who had to always be teased

His father had aggred and they were flying to sanctuary

There would be other Dragonets there

Maybe there would be some his age

When they got there they searched out a Skywing

She was hanging out with another

"Hey Pomegranate" his father Qibli said

He guessed it was the Skywings house

Then three dragonets ran out

They didn't completely look like Skywings

"I Waterfall who you?" The dragonet in the lead asked

"I'm Nightdust" he answered

They looked to only be a year younger then him

"Well I am Obsidian and that's Caverns" Obsidian said

"Why dids ya come?" Waterfall asked

"For my hatchy day" Nightdust answered

"I'm Skylight your Moonwatcher and Qibli right?" Skylight asked

He had never heard that name for his mother before

"Well I prefer Moon but yeah we are" Moon answered

"Yous gonna has a hatchy day. Why heres?" Obsidian asked

"Because I know it well be better here then at my home" Nightdust answered

"Plus I'ss get to spend it with you guys" Nightdust said

"Wess inviteded?!" Cavern asked excitedly

"Yeah!" Nightdust answered

"Sounds like you get to come" Qibli told Skylight

His new friends were awesome

They spent his hatching day playing together

Pomegranate had gotten someone to cook for them

It was what his dad called a Silkwing

Another Nightwing had came with the Silkwing who said his name was Atlas and she had been sitting with Moon

Qibli had said they were talking with there mind reading power

But eventually after his hatching day party they had to go home

They landed in the sand of the palace

It looked as tho Queen Thorn was taking down the large wall that went around the stronghold

He knew the halls well

He walked to the dining hall cause well he was hungry

Prince Adder was there but was yet to notice him

But right when he took a step near the table Adder noticed him

"Little hybrids don't need any food so get lost" Adder told him

"Every Dragon big or small hybrid or not needs food" Nightdust replied

"You do realize your very much wrong and I'm very much right" Adder said

Nightdust grabbed a few pieces of sugared camel and ate it

"Only losers eat that" Adder said

It was one of Adders favorite treats

"So your saying we are both losers?" Nightdust asked

"No just you" Adder answered

"Yet this is your favorite food" Nightdust said

"No it isn't weirdo" Adder replied

Okay there is no reasoning with him

He finished eating and left the dining room then went to read in the library

He loved to read he'd spend whole days just reading

The stars on his wings shimmered when he passed by windows

"The little hybrid going to read again" a sneering voice called from the shadows

It was one of Adders friends they all three liked to pick on him they were Pixel and Venom

Pixel stepped out into the light

"The little hybrid weirdo always reading" Pixel said

Pixel ran over and stood in front of the library door

"Now how is the little hybrid going to get in" Pixel taunted

Pixel and Venom didn't live in the palace but they lived nearby

And Adder and his friends may be older but they weren't smarter

"Then I guess I'll head out for a fly instead" Nightdust replied

And he walked down the hall towards the entrance

And he flew around the palace and to the library's window and opened it and flew inside

The guards were used to him using this way to get in by now

He closed the window behind him

He had heard that one of the reasons that Thorn was taking down the wall around the stronghold was to expand it

He had learned that a scroll or a book was being made on the true events of the scorching

The walls were lined with shelfs and the shelfs filled with scrolls

He began to look for which he wanted to read today

He grabbed one of the many history scrolls

And he walked to one of the tables to read

Venom walked in with her brother Pixel behind her

"Thought you said you stopped him from getting in here" Venom asked

"I....I did he must have found another way in" Pixel answered

"He entered through the window idiot" Venom told her brother

They never seemed to get along it was always arguing with each other

Tho Venom seemed to be the smartest out of Adders trio
