The ride home was so uncomfortable. I couldn't stop thinking about my encounter with Eugene. I didn't see him the next day, and he didn't bother to see me. But what was sad was that the pain he hid the whole time, it made me feel selfish. Maybe life was supposed to be unfair. Maybe it's just the way it should be.
Two people sitting behind me were talking very loud, and I had to keep myself together not to get up and stuff a tissue roll inside their mouths. The headache inside my head worsened and I felt like puking.
The trip to my grandparents didn't go as well as I planned. I met Eugene, he broke my heart twice, and there was this conversation about my mother which made me end up in tears. Every meal, I had to put up my best fake smile and get through all the sorrow. It was such a relief when it was the time to leave.
The train came to a halt and I realized it was time to get off. I had arrived at London. I lazily got up and got off the train. My butt was sore from sitting for a long time and I felt so exhausted.
Hiring a cab, I went back to my apartment.

Several minutes later, I was comfortably sitting on my couch, watching a few episodes of whatever was coming on TV. My mind was literally dying of boredom and it was simply the worst feeling ever.
The sun had set and night arrived. It was six in the evening and I was too bored to do anything. I was about to fall asleep when I was interrupted by a phone call. Ignoring the caller ID, I picked it up and lazily answered it.
"Hello?"
"Charlie?"
"Hey, James. Whattsup?"
Somehow my larynx got too tired and I ended up sounding like a old woman.
"I was guessing... Maybe you know, go for a walk or something? Its not too sunny and I got too bored."
"Yeah, sure. Where'd you want to meet?"
"The small park behind the church, that place is ideal."
"You mean the cemetery, right? I mean the park behind the church is a graveyard, James."
"Oh. Screw it then, I'll come pick you up."
"Okay."
"I'll be there in ten minutes."
The line went dead and I say there in complete silence.
In exactly ten minutes later, James came with a knock on the door.
"You're on time" I say as I locked the door behind me. James and I went down the stairs and onto the bustling streets of England.
"I've always hated waiting for time to pass."
"Well, its a good thing time passes slowly or else one day you'll wake up old and wrinkly" I joked.
"Now that you say it.... Oh my god, it's so scary." James said and we both started to laugh.
It's been four months since I first met him and I have to say that I'm pretty comfortable around him. We may not know each other that well but it felt like as if we've known each other for years.
The conversation between us didn't last long when we decided to walk in a park nearby. The old place was isolated, with huge oak trees in line. It was the definite place for a horror movie, but somehow it felt so peaceful and relaxing.
We walked in silence, the only sound was that of our footsteps. The night air was chilly, and I mentally cursed myself for not bringing a jacket.
"Charlie."
"Yeah?"
"You know, now that we're um, ... friends. Can I get to know you more?"
"I thought you already knew everything about me" I say. I wasn't in the mood to bring up my past. No, my past was ugly and I was never going to embrace that fact.
"Then let's play a game. 10 questions. You ask me ten questions and I'll ask you ten. There's no way you'll have to escape these. Once these ten questions are gone, um.... I don't know. Something might happen?"
"10 questions. Interesting. Fine by me."
"Great. Should I start or will you start the game?"
"I'll start the game. Question one: Could you tell me more about yourself?"
James thought for a while before looking at me and answering. His eyes glistened under the streetlights and somehow they sparkled.
"Okay. So um, ... My name is James Michael Bay and um 25 years old. I"
"Wait, your middle name is Michael? No offense but uh, it make you sound old."
"I agree. That's why I'm known by everyone as James bay."
"Go on."
"Well, my father makes wine and my mother is a fashion designer. My family was artistic and most people said I got it from them. Um, I love whiskey, you know the one with ginger infused?"
"Yeah."
"And um... I don't know. What else?"
I was a bit disappointed at his answer because I didn't catch any of his past. I couldn't see that his past was bruised but one thing that puzzled me was that the lyrics he used to write had sorrow and grief. Why was he so hard to understand?
"So it's my turn. Question one: Okay so what happened yesterday?"
"What do you mean?"
"You look so blue and down. So what happened?"
I didn't realize that I looked really sad. Maybe it's because I was so worn out from my trip.
"I went on a trip and got so tired" I partially lied, leaving the drama I had with Eugene.
"Oh. Okay."
James didn't sound so convinced but he didn't say anything. We walked for a couple few minutes before going our separate ways.
10 questions. It was a strange game and we only had asked one question each. Little did I know that these ten questions were going to be a big part of my life...

I know the chapter was crappy, I'm sorry. But don't worry because I guarantee a whole lot of drama and cliffhangers in the following chapters.
BTW, if you're a pentatonix fan, be aware that Scott and Mitch are dating. I'm literally crying right now.....
Anyway, goodbye!
