7 | sickening smiles

***

When she heared footsteps, in what seemed like forever, Sakura shot up and opened her eyes.

"Chakra draining chains? Really, ass- I mean- Kabuto?" She shakes her head as if disappointed. "I'm the weak one, there's no need for all of this extravagances on me."

Those words feel like sandpaper itching against her dry throat, and she can feel the lie bleeding through it.

So much power; so much potential- all she needs to is tap into it, and then teach this weirdo of a snake a lesson or two about abducting people who are not in the right state of mind, or unconscious, to fend for themselves.

But she can't let that asshole know- the guy seriously has an obsession with his dead mentor, and if possible, Sakura wanted atleast an opportunity to examine Kabuto's brain. That is, if he had one remaining.

"Ah, Sakura. No need to humble yourself. After all, we both know that's a lie."

Sakura feels a shiver run up her spine as Kabuto smiles at her. The smile is awful and cheap and is too sickeningly sweet.

"Now we have a new incomer." He turns to face a zetsu clone and nods, "bring him in."

For a fraction of a sickening second, Sakura thinks its Naruto, and then sasuke, but then all those thoughts fly away when she sees it's the one of the ninjas from a different nation.

Until she realises that she doesn't exactly know where she is, and what happened to Naruto?

She looks up at Kabuto, only to see him staring right at her, and frowns. "Where's Naruto?"

Dayum, my voice sounds like a frog

She snorts at her inner voice, and Kabuto raises his brow in question, to which she does not humour a reply.

Kabuto, in return, does not give her a reply, but rather her new cellmate is tossed in, and falls with an ungraceful thump.

She sees his sandy coloured hair, and her heart leaps. "Welcome to the club." She thinks, and as if he's heard her, the raikage's right hand, or left hand, man turns to face her.

He looks at her, the walls that gaurd his eyes are high and cautious. She waves her chained hand in greeting, and he realises that Sakura is not an enemy.

Or atleast, she hopes he does.

"Seems like you and your new cell- mate are already getting along." He reveals a smile which displays his sharp canines, "that's good."

"That guy's always been a creep." She shudders in disgust.

Kabuto had left a while ago, and finally it felt as though she could breath in this claustrophobic space.

She turns to face her cellmate and gives a cheap worthy smile, attempting it to be friendly.

"Hi, I'm Sakura." She gives a chained hand in greeting and awkwardly let's out a laugh. "I guess this isn't your typical way of meeting someone in a cell."

Nonetheless, she's suprised when he takes her outstretched hand in greeting and gives a tilt of a smile himself.

"The names C. And yes, as if in the alphabet."

She smiles. She's made a friend, she thinks.

"I have a question." C spoke up after a while of comfortable silence.

Sakura waves a hand in the air. "Fire away."

"Wh-"

Suddenly, the door opens with a bang.
