||Thandie Sparks' POV||

Crazy Bestie/New Phone/Brothers...

{Sunday, August 31, 2014/3:40pm, The Sparks Residence, Thandie's Bedroom}

      I am Thandie Sparks, an average, almost-a-loner teenager who is more into books than friends. I do, however, have one close BFF, who's crazy af. ;P

      My said crazy BFF, Irene, and I are sitting on my bedroom floor, chatting about what's to come tomorrow.

      Tomorrow, I'm transferring to Canterlot High from my old school, Crystal Prep, which is in Ville de Cristal ("City of Crystal"), a beautiful city known for its old mines. My brother, Sean, lives there with his wife, VDC's mayor's daughter (and my old babysitter! X3), and their child.

      Irene already attends Canterlot High. My mom said I was "too solitary and needed to make more friends", so now I have to go there too. I have a friend, thankyouverymuch.

      I call Irene "Cocoa Dream" because she's a chocolate-obsessed dreamer, lol. The crazy girl starts singing some nutty song about the chocolate-covered strawberries she's eating:

🎶Chocolate-covered strawberries,

More amazin' than fairies,

I'm willin' to sharies,

Chocolate-covered strawberries.🎶

"You're c-crazy!," I tell Irene, laughing my ass off.

"Yeah, well, at least I'm not uptight like you, Sparky," Irene replies with a smirk.

"I am not uptight!," I say, laughing again as I nudge her right arm playfully.

      Suddenly, her purple hoodie's right pocket emits some song. I recognize it as "Chandelier" by Sia. That song's as crazy as Irene is. She rolls her dark chocolate-colored eyes. Her short, shiny, curled, bob-styled hair matches her eyes. There is a curl draped over her right eye.

"Da hell is calling me?," Irene asks the air, pulling some fancy-looking, silver phone, with a gold case, from her pocket, "It's my annoying brother, Al. (*Devious smirk*) I'll ignore him for now."

"Lol!," I say, giggling, "Now. Where'd you get that awesome-looking phone?"

"R-Tech gave away several Touch-1 phones ahead of the release date for free," Irene states matter-of-factly, smiling, "But they only went out as gifts to certain employees and their families. The phones are so awesome. Remember that chick from the news weeks ago?"

"Yeah," I say sadly, "Her jerky, drunk BF almost killed her. I hope she's okay. What about her?"

"She and her friends are in the phone's promo commercial," Irene says, smiling, "Those who got the phone early will also be in le promo. Imma be a star! ...In le background!"

"You lucky little b-," I start to say with a smirk.

"Thandie?," my 13-year-old little sister, Sierra, asks from the doorway, cutting off my swear word.

"Yes?," I ask.

"Sean's coming by," Sierra says, "He wants to give you something."

"Really?!," I ask happily, squee-bouncing like I do when I see a Daring Do book, "I can't wait!"

      Sierra nods with a smile and walks away. Irene asks,

"What do you think it is?"

"I dunno!," I reply, shrugging, "Something practical, maybe. To help me in school."

"You are such a nerd," Irene says and we both laugh.

"So are you, ya nut!," I retort, still laughing, "What did Al want?"

"He's probably calling me to tell me to come home," Irene says with irritation, "I'm sixteen. I'll drive home when I want. Although, that car crash has my 'rents on edge - you know how they are. They're so uptight, they make your 'rents look like Sia's stand-in in that 'Chandelier' music video!"

"WOW," I say, laughing, "And that was a pretty strange video, lol!"

"Ya think?," Irene asks sarcastically, laughing with me.
