|•05 ~Arun•|
AUTHOR 'S POV
Anjali looked concerned! The look on her mother-in-law's face was something she should be concerned about!
"Is something wrong Aunty? Did I mess up anything?" She asked knowing everything in her life right now was wrong and messed up
"Nope! It's not about you Anjali! You did nothing wrong, it's Arun! " Vani said and Anjali nodded confused
Vani took a deep breath and looked at Anjali
"We shouldn't have forced you into this wedding dear! Sor...sorry " Vani looked like she had so much to talk but words refused to leave her mouth!
She looked restless and guilty!
"It was not forced, aunty! Yes I Agree the circumstances were different but I did it for my brother and he never forced me " Anjali said and Vani sighed at her innocence
"Just...just know Arun was never like this, he was the best and loveable okay? " Vani said as she took a deep breath
Anjali was confused about what she meant by " He was the best"
Shouldn't she say her son is still the best?
"Maaaa! I am hungry" Arun who walked down the stairs yelled
He took his seat at the dining table along with his other brothers and father.
"We will talk about this later Anjali, now let's go," Vani said and walked towards the table
Anjali turned around and followed her mother-in-law and that's when Arun realised his wife someone he married yesterday was there watching him.
All of sudden, he felt very conscious and regretted walking around in those night track pants
Cause she was all dressed up in a red kurta set, she did have some make-up on however Arun found her very pretty.
She did nothing to grab his attention but just standing there and trying to actually mingle with his family was making her attractive to his eyes.
She looked like a deer lost in the wild forest, she seemed like she had no idea what was going around yet she tried her best to catch up with them
He was watching her every move and that was making her feel uncomfortable yes! Uncomfortable
He casually ran his fingers in his silky hair trying to set his hair.
Anjali looked at Arun's brothers who were dressed up in suits and Arun who was in his night tracks!
She wondered if he had taken a day off or something cause he did not seem to go to the company today!
Soon the breakfast was done and everyone left the hall!
Vani and the two daughters-in-law of the family walked to Anjali.
"We might leave tomorrow for Chennai! We do have a ritual of visiting our home god so get ready Anjali" Vani said and Anjali nodded
Anjali found it all weird that no one at the dining table started a conversation or tried to interact with each other, it was like a strict professional lunch with colleagues.
That's how she felt! And now her mother-in-law informed her about the trip and left for her room!
All seemed so weird to her! Anjali was never in a joint family so she assumed that was the reason for weirdness.
Anjali sat on the kitchen island peeling the skin of the potato as she wanted to help her co-sisters who were cooking
She knew cooking but she was not a great cook and did not have much interest towards cooking but she loves cutting veggies.
Her two co-sisters sat around her and tried to have a conversation with her and Anjali liked it.
At least someone in the house is trying to talk!
"Anjali I might sound strange but... Your Lucky " Anitha the first daughter-in-law of the family told Anjali just wanted to yell at her.
Her entire life turned upside down just yesterday and here this woman called her lucky!
"Lucky? Who me? Yes very much" Anjali said and of course it was sarcastic
Aishwarya the second daughter-in-law of the family sighed and looked at Anjali
"She meant you Lucky because you married Arun " Aishwarya told
"And why should I feel lucky?
"Arun was someone who made me comfortable here first Anjali! He was cheerful! The light of this family to be clear " Aishwarya told
"He made sure we felt home here when my husband was running behind money! He still is and that's a different story but trust me Anjali you're in safe hands" Aishwarya told
Anjali who was confused felt even more confused by their confessions
"Do you guys know why the bride broke the wedding yesterday?" Anjali asked and both of them nodded as no
She excused herself and went to his room, well that was the only room she knew in the entire house.
Standing on the balcony, she looked over the railing and saw Arun lying down in the grass, his brother's kids around him giggling and falling on him.
He looked so human and attractive to her eye at that point! She felt like the man down there was something or someone she wanna learn more!
Breaking her thoughts her phone rang and it was from her brother a wide smile stretched on her face.
"I missed you" was the first thing Selva said as soon as she picked up the call making her chuckle
"It's not even a day since I got married now stop being a drama queen," Anjali told
" No Anjali trust me, I miss you and gone a miss you even more " Selva told
"Nope! Just a phone call and I will be in front of our house and kick your overdramatic ass" Anjali told and Selva sighed
"Remember the London branch problems? That is going out of control, the construction is stopped and it's all messed up so I and Shilpa are leaving for London" Selva said and Anjali had her lips pressed into a line
She did not know if she had to feel happy that her brother was finally getting out of his comfort zone and taking risks or feel sad that the only family she has have to move to London
" Ohhh!" That was all Anjali said
"I know I know! This is yet again all of sudden but We had no choice...you please visit us tomorrow! Let's talk in detail" Selva told and Anjali agreed and ended the call.
Turning around she saw Arun who entered the room
"I swear I did not hear you talk on the phone," he said as he raised his hands as if he was surrendering
Anjali smiled and nodded like she was saying "She knows he did not eavesdrop"
Taking a breath of relief, Arun smiled at her
"Can you please get ready in 10 minutes? We need to go somewhere really quick" Arun asked and Anjali nodded not knowing where he was taking her.
