After the last bell of the day had rung, Yeona walks out of the graphic design room with her head down, unknowingly passing a certain someone who was waiting for her. She feels her elbow being pulled and she jumps slightly, turning to see Yoongi with a smile on his face.
"Mind if I walk you home?" He asks.
"Uh, sure?" She says, giving him a slight smile in return,
She had worded it more like a question but she was glad that he didn’t ask it as they continued walking down the hallway. She tries her best not to bring up what she had heard earlier and steals glances at him every now and then, trying her best not to get caught. She didn’t think it was creepy as ling as she played it off like she was looking at the cars in the street when he did catch her. He suddenly stops, looking up at the side of a building with his hand shading his eyes.
"Is that your apartment by chance?" He asks.
She looks in the same direction to see the spray paint barely visible from the sidewalk but smiles that he had pointed it out.
"Yeah, that's my room." She says, continuing to walk toward the front of the complex.
He follows her all the way to the door, which she found a bit weird but didn’t complain when they had gotten to landing that was a bit of a tight squeeze for two people to be standing on. She digs around in her pockets looking for her key, taking them out and reaching for the door. Yoongi suddenly reaches out and grabs her wrist, making her blink at him in confusion, looking up to see him smiling down at her.
"I'll pick you up at noon, okay? For the party?" He asks.
"Yeah, sounds good." She says, trying to unlock the door for the second time.
He lets go of her hand and she manages to unlock the door, going inside while Yoongi just watches her.
"You wanna come inside?" She asks, gesturing to the threshold.
"I mean, am I allowed to?" He asks.
"Yeona, who's there?" Hee-Chul asks from the living room.
"It's Yoongi, can he come in for a little bit?" She asks..
"Yoongi? Hell yeah, come on in man!" Hee-Chul says excitedly.
She laughs a little and opens the door wider so he could come inside. Yoongi walks in and goes into the living room where Hee-Chul was sitting on the couch.
"What's up man?" Hee-Chul smiles, standing up to high five his friend.
"Nothing much, just wanted to say hello. How come you weren't at school with Yeona today?" Yoongi asks.
"I don't feel like going to school with her everyday." He says.
"Awesome, so while you guys do guy things, I'll be in my room." She says.
She walks to her room and sets her things down, laying down on the bed to play on her phone. She heard the boys talk about guy things in the other room and she began to feel very annoyed. She crosses the room and closes the door quietly, not wanting to make them think she was mad or something. Her phone vibrates and she look down to see that she had a text from an unknown number. She hesitates before pushing on it and sighed in relief.
???
Hey, it's Taehyung. Have you started on your art project yet?
She saves the contact and tries to remember back to her art class.
Yeona
Not yet, why? Something wrong?
He replied instantaneously and she smiled.
Tae
No, nothing's wrong, I was just wondering what you were going to do for it.
Yeona
What's the assignment?
Her mind had gone totally blank and she had forgotten what the project was even about.
Tae
Make a design that outlines a drawing. Got any ideas?
Yeona
A few. None that'll help you tho
Tae
I'm hurt, not even one idea?
Yeona
No
sorry Tae.
Tae
It's alright. See you tomorrow.
Yeona
Yeah.
She sighs and puts her phone down, pulling out her easel with a large piece of paper on it. She starts the outline of a woman in a black pencil, her features coming next. The woman almost came to life, as if the black and white person would jump off the paper and give her a hug. Yeona made her look exactly like the memory of her mother, the way she remembered her before she died. She smiled and began to add in a painting within her face, making it look like her head was in space. She smiled wider at her finished product and put all of her paintbrushes down to admire her work. She heard clapping from the doorway and her smile fell. She looks back to see Hee-Chul standing in the doorway, smiling at the painting.
"It looks amazing!" He complimented.
"Thank you, what's up?" She asks, a bit embarrassed to have others invade her privacy.
"I'm going out to dinner. I'll be back soon, alright?" He asks.
"Yeah, whatever." She sighs.
He smiles and moves out of the way to reveal Yoongi standing behind him. She shyly waves at him, smiling slightly.
"See you tomorrow." He says simply.
He doesn't move from his place and she could tell he wanted to do something else but was debating with himself on whether or not to actually do it. He finally comes into the room and sits on her bed. He smiles as he looks around, his eyes lighting up as he catches sight of the many paintings she had hung up on the wall. His smile made her feel all nervous inside and she couldn't help but stare at him. She didn't notice that he noticed her staring at him until he had poked her cheek. She blinks and shakes her head from her entranced state, smiling up at him when she was back to normal. He smiled back and he seemed to get closer to her face, making her move away slightly. She felt lips on her forehead and she froze, no one had ever kissed her on the forehead, or anywhere for that matter, before so it was new to her. He pulled away and looked at her face, chuckling slightly, making her pout that he thought it was funny.
"Oh, just go hang out with your boyfriend." She playfully pushed him off the bed.
"Boyfriend? Oh, you mean Hee-Chul?" He chuckles, landing onto the floor.
"Yeah, him." She seethes.
She wasn't really mad but she pretended she was to get a small reaction from him. He laughs and ruffles her hair, making her confused and mad at the same time.
"Why do you do this to me?" She whines, trying to fix her hair.
"Relax, I'm just playing around." He says.
"Why aren't you gone yet? I shouldn't have brought you here if all you're gonna do is mess around with Hee-Chul the entire time." She mumbles.
"What? Are you jealous?" He asks.
"Me? Jealous? Now why the heck would I be jealous, Yoongi?" She asks, crossing her arms.
To be perfectly honest, she was a little jealous but she wasn't about to let the secret slip.
"Dunno, it would be nice if you were though." he says.
"I'm not your girlfriend. So don't expect me to be jealous over nothing." She mumbles, turning back to the painting that was drying.
She felt arms around her waist and her breath caught itself in her throat. She began to breathe again when she realized that Yoongi was now hugging her from behind.
"Y-Yoongi? What are you doing?" She asks, trying hard not to blush at the action.
"I can't hug my friend?" He asks.
Friendzoned just like that, huh?
Her heart sunk a little, now knowing that what he had said to his friends on the rooftop was just a lie.
"You can hug me, but don't get used to it. I am a friend after all." She says, trying to make a joke out of it.
"Why do you gotta be like that? Just hug me back." He says in her ear.
She puts her hand on his cheek, patting it and smiles up at him.
"There, is this good enough for you?" She asks.
His face pouted a little and he moved his hand from her waist to her hand. He grabbed it and turned her around in his arms, making her a bit dizzy but he hugged her again. She awkwardly wraps her arms around his body, sighing in content. She really enjoyed the warmth from his body and She kind of didn't want it to stop. Yoongi pulled away and her arms went to her sides again, limp from the loss of warmth.
"See, don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone. Lighten up, happiness is a good look for you." He smiles.
"Whatever. Like I said, don't get used to hugging me." She says, shaking her head with a huff.
Yoongi looked a little hurt but nodded anyway, letting go of her arms and taking in a deep breath. He looks around the room as he exhales, making a bit awkward in the room.
"You should probably go." She says.
"I should probably go." He says.
They laugh as they realize that they talked at the same time. She left the room first and went out into the living room to see it completely empty.
"He's still at the dinner place?" She asks out loud.
"Yeah, to be honest, I asked him to get food." Yoongi comes around the corner with his hand on the back his neck.
"Why would you do that?" She asks.
She felt as though he was just toying with her at this point and couldn’t bear to be alone with him without going insane.
"I can't have some alone time with my friend?" He asks.
He said it again and everytime he does, it hurts her heart even more than the last.
"No, I love hanging out with friends." She says, giving him a fake smile.
"You are a really good friend, you know that right?" He asks, smiling a bit.
Is he doing this on purpose to get me mad? Does he know I like him? Does he know I know that he supposedly has a crush on me?
"Are you trying to get me mad at you? If you are, it's working." She say, clenching her fists..
"Mad? Why would you say that?" He asks, a playful spark in his eyes.
"You're a piece of shit, friend or not, stop trying to make me feel bad." She crosses her arms and pouts.
"I'm making you feel bad?" He asks.
"Yeah, calling me your friend as if we can't be anything more than friends which really puts a damper on my feelings." She says, not thinking everything through.
"Feelings? What feelings?" He asks, suddenly going serious.
Oh shit oh fuck
"How about we watch some tv." She says, trying to quickly change the subject so he won't ask any more questions.
She starts to walk deeper into the living room but sees a hand block her path and pins her against the wall, making her look at Yoongi with a pale face.
"I don't feel like watching tv, I'd rather talk about the 'feelings' you say you have." He says, smiling his famous smile, making her melt inside.
"Uhm, I don't think that's relevant right now." She says, trying not to give in.
"Too bad, Yeona, you piqued my interest. Let's talk." He says, taking her arm to pull her down onto the couch with him.
