Epilogue

A year later...

Ronin's POV

My mind was running at a million thoughts per second as I paced the length of my study.

"Don't worry sire, I'm sure it will all go well." Tiberius said. After the curse was broken a year go the kingdom has been restored to its former glory. I signed a treaty with the elven, human and fae kingdom. I also named Tiberius as my new advisor.

The door suddenly opened and the four people I've been waiting for stepped inside. Tiberius then excused himself before he left the room and closed the door behind him.

They all looked at me expectantly and I told them why I called them.

"Do I have your blessing to marry Freya?"

My heart raced as I stared at the four people infront of me. I held my breath as I waited for their answer.

"Ronin." Keelan said,"You have my blessing."

"Mine too." Rose exclaimed.

"If I have to give my sister to someone, I'm glad it is you." Javier said and I smiled at his words.

"Yes, but only if I get to be your best man." Rhid said with a cheeky grin and I couldn't help but laugh, finally releasing the breath I was holding in.

Now all I had to do was propose to the princess I loved.

Rose gave me a hug and welcomed me to the family while Javier, Rhid and Keelan gave me pat on the back wishing me luck with my proposal.

They offered to help, but I had everything planned to the letter. All that was left was to lure Freya to the secret garden and ask her the question.

When they left Freya entered my study.

"What was that about?" She asked curiously.

"Oh nothing, just finalising the treaty and things." I said as I kissed her on her cheek.

"Oh well, Moira told me you wanted to speak with me."

"Yes, I thought that we could have lunch in the royal garden?" I asked.

"That sounds great, I will bring the picnic basket." She as she gave me hug before she dashed off.

I could only hope she likes her surprise.

  Freya's POV

When lunch time arrived I quickly grabbed the basket cook prepared and went to the secret garden. When I arrived Ronin was nowhere to be seen and I could only hope he didn't forget like the previous four times. Since the curse was broken Ronin did his best to get the kingdom in order and I helped him every step of the way.

I went over to the benches and as I took a seat I noticed something sparkling in the sun that was hidden in the bushes. I reached out to grab it and to my surprise it was a diamand ring.

When I turned around with the ring in my hand Ronin stood behind me on one knee. A gasp escaped my lips.

"Freya Light, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He asked and I started to nod.

"Yes, yes, a million times yes!" I exclaimed, he took the ring out of my hand and placed it on my finger. He grabbed me in his arms and spinned me around.

"So that is why, my parents, Javier and Rhid were in your study this morning." I said.

"Yes."

"You sneaky bear." I said with a giggle as I stared up at the man I loved and I realised just how much I love him, and how much love changed me.

We were both changed by love.
