Chapter 1

Ziro sat on the edge of a building. He enjoyed watching the sky as he waited for something exciting to happen. It wasn't often that he got breaks like this, especially since he lived in one of the more crime filled areas of Musutafu.

Ziro's profession wasn't exactly accepted in Musutafu, but that didn't stop him. He wasn't going to be seen as someone who just wants fame and money, he actually wanted to help people, that's what made him become a vigilante.

He wasn't gaining anything from the job, but he also wasn't losing anything, so, he kept doing it, and he loved doing it, he loved seeing the smiles on people's faces when someone arrived to help them, he loved seeing the villains beaten and turned into the police, he just loved every bit of it.

Well, there was one thing he didn't like about the job. He was always avoiding being caught by the cops. They didn't know that he was quirkless, so they didn't know that he wasn't technically doing anything illegal, that also meant that them chasing him was just a waste of both of their time.

Ziro was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw smoke rising in the distance. He immediately stood up and ran towards the burning building. As he neared the building he noticed how much of it was already engulfed in the bright flames. Ziro quickly glanced around at the crowd that was already outside of the building, he mentally facepalmed at the lack of heros that were currently present.

Ziro took one last deep breath as he jumped into the building to retrieve the remaining people or animals that were in the apartment.

-------------------------------------

Ziro sighed in relief. He had gotten the rest of the people out without any casualties. Most of the people were still on the top floor, and it was too high up for them to jump out of a window, meaning if he hadn't been there then they most likely would've died.

While there were no casualties, there were multiple injuries. Many people had broken bones from falling debris, there were also many cuts and burns. None of the injuries seemed fatal, but if they didn't get proper treatment then their wounds would most likely get infected, so it was a good thing that ambulances were called along with fire trucks.

Ziro decided that he should get back to his trailer so he could treat his own burns, so he slunk away and into the shadows. As he was running back along the rooftops he heard footsteps close behind him. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to outrun whoever was following him because of his injuries, he had to think of some way to get them off of his tail.

Ziro turned his head to look at his pursuer, only to realize that it was his favorite hero Eraserhead. The shock of the news made Ziro stumble a little bit before regaining his footing so he could keep running, but he decided to instead stop and spin around to face the pro hero.

"What do you want Hobo man?" Ziro asked impatiently.

"Alright, since it's our first time talking to one another I'm going to go easy on you," Eraserhead said with the most monotone voice Ziro had ever heard, "Come with me peacefully and you won't get hurt."

Ziro nearly burst out laughing at what Eraserhead said, and Eraserhead noticed and frowned at Ziro.

"No thanks Scarfy," Ziro said nonchalantly, Eraserhead managed to keep a poker face on which amazed Ziro.

"Fine, hard way it is then," Eraserhead said as he started using his quirk on Ziro. Ziro smiled sweetly at Eraserhead then ran towards him.

Eraserhead must've noticed Ziro's lack of caution because he stopped using his quirk. Eraserhead's scarf then started coming for Ziro, Ziro had expected the Pro to use his scarf once he stopped using his quirk, so it didn't surprise him.

Ziro used the momentum he had and used it to propel himself into the air and out of the way of the scarf. Once he landed he continued towards Eraserhead, but, Eraser must've noticed because his scarf came back towards Ziro. Instead of jumping out of the way, Ziro grabbed the scarf and used his strength to pull it away from Eraserhead.

Once the scarf was securely in Ziro's grasp he jumped off of the roof of the building and into a shadowy alleyway to get away from the Pro hero.

'Next time I see him I'll have to thank him for the new scarf,' Ziro chuckled to himself as he walked through the alleyways.

-------------------------------------

Ziro walked into his trailer and took his mask and goggles off so he could get comfortable. He then took off his hoodie and bullet proof turtle neck so he could change into clean clothes for the night, he decided that he didn't need to change pants that night.

Next Izuku checked his burns and cuts, he cleaned the worst looking cuts and put bandages around them, for the burns he put some burn ointment on them then put bandages on those as well. Finally he was ready to sleep.

As he got settled into his bed he thought about the people he rescued from the fire. It reminded him of 3 years earlier, when his apartment had caught on fire, there were supposedly no survivors, but here he was. The police never had solid evidence of his death, but just in case they figured out he wasn't actually dead he decided to change his name. He no longer went by Izuku Midoriya, his new name was Seto Ryota.

<~~>

Izuku watched as the flames got closer. He contemplated letting the flames engulf him, but he realized that there wouldn't be a point in dying a painful death like that, he'd rather it be quick, so he sprung into action.

Izuku knew that he should just run out of the building, but he wouldn't be able to survive without any supplies or a quirk, so he quickly grabbed his emergency bag that had extra money, clothes, food, water, light sources, and warmth. He was grateful that his mom had advised him to make an emergency survival kit in case something like this would happen.

Izuku hoped that his mom was safe and alright, but deep down he knew that she didn't survive the wrath of the heat. So, with that in mind, he jumped out of the burning building into an alleyway nearby.

Once Izuku had gotten far enough away from his apartment, he went to the nearest gas station to watch the news. He had to wait a while before the burning building came on- probably because no one noticed it- but once it did, he felt sick to his stomach. No hero showed up, no fire fighters came until it was too late, and there were no survivors.

"Society and heroes can be so disappointing these days," The cashier for the gas station mumbled, Izuku turned to look at him,"No heroes noticed the burning building, even though multiple were spotted in the area, their greed for fame caused everyone in that apartment to die."

Izuku turned back towards the Tv to see more of what was going on.

"The fire was deemed an accident, but presses will still be charged towards the owners of the apartment complex because of the faulty wiring that caused the massive flame," One of the reporters at the sight said.

'Of course,' Izuku thought sourly to himself, 'Those greedy apartment owners didn't bother with safety precautions, and they weren't even in the building.'

And that was the last day Izuku had respect for the heroes. That's the day Izuku decided to become a vigilante using his slight knowledge of martial arts. That was the last day Izuku Midoriya was known as Izuku Midoriya.
