promise she asked her eyes seeming to fill with trust I squeezed her shoulders reasuringly

pushing stray locks of hair behind her ear and as soon as my fingers made contact with her skin she flinched away tyipical kid I turned

tara she yelled I paused and turned back around

what was that I asked afraid that I had heard her wrong

I smiled and motioned with my head

what about your name she asked I thought for a few seconds

then I heard a crunching noise I felt confused I turned around to see her tara sitting down on the ground wearing a straight face I blinked a few times

what are you doing I asked she looked up at me like I was stupid

yeah I can see that but... why there wouldn't you like to sit over near the nice warm fire I tried to reason with her but no she was acting like a bloody two year old

she blinked a few times then nodded slowly I stared down at her for a few seconds then turned away

when we were close the crew stopped talking and looked to us tara stopped walking and I turned to her and grabbed her good arm tugging her after me I swallowed hard as I touched her skin as I started walking to a spare seat ignoring the smiles and winks they gave us. I took her to a clear spot and forcefully sat her down
