HICCUPS POV

Dull pain shook my mind from thought, I put my head in my palms hoping to rub away the pain "what happened?" I asked no one groggily.

"You attempted to escape, then attempted to attack Astrid." I deep voice answered from the mass of black that was this room. "Ooh it's you" I said sarcastically "yes it's me you hound!" He snapped "that's no way to talk to your son, now is it chief." I replied coldly "you are not my son." He snapped as I sighed "you are so bad at sympathy." I chuckled.

out of the blue he punches me to the ground, I hit the cold stone floor with a crack, my already broken arm cracking once more by force. I cried out in anguish "like I said *cough* bad at sympathy." I groaned out in pain. He snorted in anger "you don't deserve sympathy you dog." He seethed out of the dark "why do you hide? I ask through gritted teeth "why do you live?" He responded "now that is a good question chief, cause dammit I don't want to live like this, but yet I can't bring myself to die." I respond.

He stepped on into my sight, the bright green lighting his pale skin. "You didn't want this? You want death?" He asked in slight disbelief "yes, it's not the life I wish for, yet it's the only one I have, I cannot grant my own wishes, because at the same time they aren't my wishes at all." I spoke softly

After moments of silence he laughs a cold yet hardy laugh "it's death you'll get hound, and I'll be the one to deliver it." He laughs "you really can't remember do you?" I chuckled "what do you mean?" He asked from the shadows "I'm sorry I meant you don't want to remember." I replied sarcastically "you don't want to remember a day just like this years ago do you?" I continued, I heard his growl of anger he remembers, he knows what I'm doing.

It was 6 years ago, and I just had done something stupid.

"Oh no, Oh no-" I panted out looking at the mess I made, or more specifically the mess the twins made and placed in my hands "I'm innocent, really, I couldn't do this if I really tried!" I tried to convince the red bearded man in front of me "I don't want excuses Hiccup!" He boomed "well that's good because you didn't get one!" I replied, he yanked me by the arm to the great hall away from the masses.

"You did it! No excuses!" He repeated "but you see the thing is I didnt do it." I replied sarcastically "DON'T LIE BOY!" He boomed "oh my Thor I'm not!" I huffed in frustration. Suddenly he punched me to the ground, my shoulder throbbing in pain and my mind in utter shock "YOU COST US TONS OF FOOD BOY! AND THAT DOES NOT GO UNPUNISHED, BUT LYING ABOUT IT MAKES IT WORSE!!" He roared at me as I lied groaning in pain on the stone cold floor.

He stomped over to me just to kick me down again, I yelped in surprise and pain. Cracking down to meet the cold stones again. I groaned in agony at the blood streaming from my nose and my dislocated shoulder. I rolled over into my back hoping to ease the pain just to meet worsening pain.

He didn't stop there though, grabbing me by the collar of my tunic he hulled me into the air, a blazing fury in his eyes, then tossed me two feet across the room, a landed on my bad shoulder, roaring in anguish. I tried to ease the bleeding of my nose by pointing my head to the roof, but it felt like I was drowning in my own blood. I panicked and coughed out the blood in my throat. I heard a quiver and turned to the door to see Astrid looking at the sight in horror. I met her gaze, but it was short lived as my own father kicked me in the chin, chipping my tooth and spewing more blood.

I lied down on the floor in defeat, just wanting this to be over, Astrid I'm assuming at the sight of this burst in startling Stoick and I. "STOICK STOP!" She yelled desperately, said man turned to her and huffed "why?!" He seethed out threw clenched teeth.

"IT WASN'T HIM! IT WAS THE TWINS! AND HES YOUR SON! LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID!" She roared, he turns to me. Seeing me barely supporting myself on one arm and the blood splattered over the floor, my battered and bruised body, my heavy breathes and the overall horrific sights at the man's doing.

His expression turned to that of horror and regret, me moved to me but I quickly held my hand up in defense expecting the mountain of a man to crush me yet again. He stopped and took a look, my courage was wiped off, replaced with pain and cold.

"Son..." he gasped out at sight "I'm so sorry." He continued, his voice desperate of a sign of my forgiveness, I turned to him.

"I hope you freeze in Hel." I seethed to the old chief. "Please son." He begged as I struggled to regain footing, the pain grinding my nerves in resistance and restraint. I spat out the blood still residing in my throat, giving a deathly glare to the man ahead of me "You are blind with rage chief, enough to nearly kill your kin, I will never forget this, and you better pray to the gods that when I am I able, I forgive instead of kill you." I said with venom.

He stood silent, tears evident in his eyes as I walked away from the man, the man that I called no longer my father.

I finished the story, seeing the man on the brink of tears made me so happy, and eager "I told you..." I chuckled "I'd kill you when I could, If I never forgave you, and you sure as hel didn't make me want to over the years old man." I continued "you brought it upon yourself Hiccup." He spoke after a while "no I did not, I didn't ask for this to happen." I snapped in annoyance at his ignorance. "What about the guards you killed?!" He asked clearly annoyed "I killed them because you lied and then tried to publicly execute me." I replied with an emotionless expression "and Astrid?" He asked with a smug like face "I had no control over my own actions, because of something I didn't ask for." I replied with an equally smug face.

He growled in annoyance "I know that you know I'm innocent, but I know how you work chief, you will go to the extreme just to get the best of me, as soon as I mess up, you'll throw me to the block." I called him out as I met his piercing gaze with equal intensity. All of a sudden he laughed a hearty laugh "what?" I asked, curious "you really are my son! Your tough, you know your enemies! Your a chief at heart son." He laughed "A I'm not your son, B they only thing different from us is followers, if a had an army, you'd be dead." I seethed "you've got my revenge gig too aye?" He spoke softly, I smiled a toothy grin that sent noticeable chills down the chiefs spine.

He quickly shook it off and stood up "you've got a prison mate too." He spoke solemnly before walking out of the dark room, the door squeaking open then closed then open again then shut. My 'prison mate' walked in.

It was a female from what I could see, blonde, skinny, she smelled familiar yet it wasn't Astrid. "And who might you be?" I asked the shadowy female "oh hey Hiccup, it's just me Ruff." Ruffnut replied "how'd you get in here?" I asked her confused "I tried to get you out." She answered as she shrugged her shoulders "why would you try to get me out?" I asked clearly not understanding her "you're now a beacon of Loki it's only right my brother and I as his faithful servants see that beacon to freedom and safety, but most importantly-" I cut her off "destruction" I finished "destruction" She concurred.

"Well I see that the plan didn't go well." I spoke softly "oh no it went well, I got what we needed." She smiled as I gave her a questioning look, she held up a key. "How did you get that?!" I whisper yelled "same way I got everyone else off that dragon hunter ship when we all were eighteen." She answered smugly as I laughed. "Where's Tuff though." I questioned her "holding off the guards." She answered as I nodded in acknowledgment, I stood up "let's get out of here shall we?" I said motioning to the cell door.

She unlocked the cell door, it creaked open and we slipped out into the dark hallway. "It has only one exit, how do we get out unnoticed" I questioned, she smiled and pointed at the wall behind me, I turned to see I small hole in the wall. "You sly fox." I chuckled under my breath, upon further inspection the hole was smaller than I thought, luckily it can fit thin people just Like Ruff, Tuff and I.

Unfortunately for us though the door to the prison bursts open, Tuff flying threw and to his sister's feet, guards fill into the hall, weapons drawn and thirsty for blood. "I thought you said you'd hold them off!" Ruff yelled at her brother "I tried! But not all of them passed out from the sea bass I made!" He yelled back as I gagged remembering the salty horror that was the salt crusted sea bass.

The guards charged at the twins, effectively catching them both off guard due to their unnecessary bickering, the guard cracked down on Ruff, slamming her to the stones, my blood boiled at seeing her her hurt. I felt my blood rush and my bones cracking. The transformation took its time, but the guards were too scared to take advantage of that time.

I roared at the guards, spittle flying into the faces of the nearest guards, the twins getting all giddy at their 'beacon'. I slammed my claw into the guards chest throwing him to the wall in an airless heap. The next came charging in his brother's place, sword raised high. I side stepped then tripped the guard, grabbed him by the back of his tunic and threw him into the next two guards. "You two get out! I'll met you at Raven point!" I demanded "but-" Tuff tried to protest "GO!" I said again and they quickly obliged yet I knew they were still watching.

The guards came at me full force, all four of them letting out war cries. I dodged a vertical swing from a swords man, punched him into the wall then leaped backwards from an axe swing aimed for my head before launching at said axe man with blinding speed and force, my claw connected with the man's chest knocking him down and sent blood flying from the newly made gash.

The other two men took their tries. Letting out a fury of slashes and stabs I dodged with ease, I grabbed the sword blade, but was careful not to cut myself then bashed the pommel into the original wielders face, sending him sprawling back clutching his bleeding nose. I swung at the next man, he blocked it yet the sheer force of the blow knocked his blade to the ground, I took my chance and kicked out, connecting with the warriors jaw, sending him into the wall and into unconsciousness.

I quickly and effortlessly stabbed the next man who still was groaning in pain from his broken nose, the stab going right threw him like a hot knife threw butter. He spat out blood before falling to his knees, the life draining from his eyes just before he finally hit the ground as his blood continued to spill from his wounds.

I dropped the blade and turned to the wall, ruff and tuff quickly dashing back from view as soon as my head turned in attempt to hide. "I already know just hold on I'm coming." I growled in slight amusement, yet the only problem was getting through the small gap, in this form I couldn't fit, I growled upon realization I haven't figured out how to leave my wolf form.

"What's wrong?" Ruff questioned "I- I cant fit." I said plainly motioning to the small gap "just go sideways." Tuff suggested "I know, but I can't fit." I repeated. Ruff grabbed my arm and tried yanking me through, like I said I didn't fit "it's not working, let me go!" I requested.

The door to the prison burst open to reveal Astrid, Stoick, and more guards "AH SHIT GOGOGOGO!" I yelled as I forced myself threw the gap while sucking in my gut, I slid threw and grabbed the twins then ran at light speed out of there.

We settled down in a clearing in the forests, the cold and the dark sending the twins into a panic, which was very unlike them. "Would you calm down." I asked the jittery twins "sadly no we cannot my beacon! We are being chased by bloodthirsty Vikings and possibly dragons and speaking of dragons! We don't have ours!" Tuff yelled "but you guys love being chased by bloodthirsty Vikings!" I protested, Ruff shook her head "not this time Amigo, this could be it, leaving on the edge without our dragon, that's awful!" She explained solemnly.

I shook my head in disbelief and confusion. They keep rambling on about the problems of the world as I try to rub away the newly forming headache they're giving me. I stand up and slap them both "shut up! Just shut up!" I yell at them as they lie on the ground "you've done this a thousand times before, even without barf and belch! How is this any different?" I continue "you're a lycanwolf?" Tuff tries to answer, I sigh "why would you save me, then worry that I'll kill you?" I ask, clearly annoyed "you did that with Astrid." Ruff blurts out, the name Astrid boils my blood, I growl lowly at the memories of her betraying me, leaving me without toothless and without a safe way off this putrid rock.

I notice they look scared "sorry if I scared you, it's just Astrid, she and I aren't on 'good terms' right now." I say in an attempt to ease their worries, they nod and stop pacing "why are you two not on good terms? Didn't you guys like-" Ruff said before making a suggestive motion with her hands. I sigh and shake my head. They look almost disappointed "okay fine it happened once." I almost mumble. But they heard it and got all excited.

"OH MY THOR! I KNEW IT!" Tuff yells victoriously, I grumble in response, I regretted it "How was it though?" He asked "It was okay, she dug my damn back out though." I responded "that means you knew what you were doing." Ruff commented and I smirked very smug like "did she scream?" Tuff asked raising his eyebrows "woke the village." I laugh "Top or bottom?" Tuff asked "It was a fight but I was top." I answered with a hint of pride. They both giggled like kids on snoggle tog.

We shared stories and good laughs, and as it turns out, the twins aren't that bad, as long as they aren't pranking anyone that is. We reminisced about Dragons Edge and all that happened in a year. "Do you remember when you punched Snotlout at the edge because we wanted to get barf and belch back?" Ruff reminisced as I laughed "yeah that satisfying crack as I punch Snotlout was great, I'd do it again, hands down." I chuckled "THOR'S MIGHTY HAMMER!" Tuff roared as Ruff and I laughed harder.

They talked on about the good times and I smiled, realizing the friends I had were to stay, they're dedicated to Loki, his will keeps them with me, it sounds forced but I'm just happy to have friends I can rely and laugh with again. Speaking of friends, I knew we were being watched, for a while now actually, I knew who it was, she was alone, let's rub some salt in the wound.

ASTRIDS POV

we burst threw the door to see Hiccup in his wolf form trying to squeeze threw the gap, he sees us. "AH SHIT GOGOGOGO!" He yells, panicked before sliding threw the gap and dashing into the Wild. I ran threw the gap, I guess Stoick can't fit and Snotlout's arm prevented him but I don't know for sure.

Hiccup was lightning fast, dashing threw the woods under the light of the moon. Holding the cheering twins over his shoulders. I pushed my body to its limits just to go fast enough to keep track of him. The sweat drenching my body as I felt as though I was on fire, my abdomen in pain keeping me from holding my speed. I slowed down and watched as Hiccup effortlessly jumped over a fallen tree, and out of sight. "Dammit!" I huffed out.

I had been walking threw the woods for what felt like ages, but the position of the moon told otherwise. I wasn't lost, just determined. I heard talking a while ago, but I lost it, I've been heading in that direction since.

I could tell I was close, I could feel it, and I was. I could see people, three people, I hid and listened "OH MY THOR! I KNEW IT!" Tuff roared, hiccup grumbled "How was it?" He asked "It was okay, dug my damn back out though." He replied smugly what are they talking about? "That means you knew what you were doing." Ruff commented with a smile "did she scream?" Tuff asked "woke the village." Hiccup replied with a smirk are they talking about... "Top or bottom?" Tuff queried "it was a fight, but I was top." Hiccup answered oh no they are! My face turned deep red with embarrassment, at least only the twins know now.

They just started laughing and talking about life on the edge years ago. "THORS MIGHTY HAMMER!" I hear Tuff roar followed by the others laughing. I kept listening for some time, nothing else but reflection and jokes. I was about to leave before Hiccup spoke up "I just wish I knew this would happen, then I would've never started dating Astrid." He says solemnly, my heart broke "I mean she just tossed it away, she betrayed me twice!" He continued clearly angry, my heart broke even more with guilt "I just wish... she was dead." He spoke coldly, my heart shattered, tears silently falling from my eyes.

I couldn't stand it, I had to confront him.

I walk out of hiding, the twins gasp but Hiccup just smiled a little without looking at me, crossing his arms then chuckled a little. His green, blazing eyes met mine, his wolf form caked in blood, he smiled a false,crooked smile. "I'm sorry Hiccup, you know I am." I spoke softly as another tear fell.

He finally turned to look at me, his eyes bright like fire, but the look was cold as ice. "I'm so sorry." I continued shakily "if there is anything I can do-" he cut me off "get me toothless, and I might spare you." He spoke immediately "what?" I asked almost shocked "get. Toothless." He repeated with more annoyance than anything else.

I was terrified, the Fearless Astrid Hofferson was terrified, I nodded and ran before he could say a word, I ran as fast as possible, the wind ripping at my skin. The cold wind crawling over me, pushing my body to its maximum.

I had two choices, betray him again and get the chief, or get toothless as he asked and get the slightest chance of redemption.

I could see the village nearing me. Everyone near gathered to see what their beloved shield maiden was so terrified of, Stoick was among them when I arrived and fell unto the arms of my parents. "Lass. Lass catch your breath." Gobber spoke concerned, I took deep breaths.

"What happened Astrid?" Stoick asked, it was now or never, either I betray Hiccup again or a betray Berk. "Astrid?" He asked again "Stoick..."

"I know where we can find Hiccup."
