Thanos was finally gone.
The Avengers won and everyone who disappeared came back.
It had been tough for Ava to go through it all. She missed 5 years of her life and during that time the universe was in chaos. When she came back, it was as if she had woken up from a nightmare to find a new one awaiting her.
That was until she found the one person she thought she'd never see again.
Nick Fury invited her to Stark's funeral. Her sorrow weighing on her shoulders as she lost a dear friend of hers. She stepped out of the car to see the familiar faces of the Avengers.
Steve, Wanda, Clint, Scott, Peter Parker and plenty of others greeted her with warm smiles.
"Ava?"
A voice she didn't recognize but the tone was one she knew all to well.
Ava turned around to see a man in a leather jacket and a gray t-shirt.
Was this a new Avenger? Had she met him before? A S.H.I.E.L.D agent? Who was the middle aged man standing in front of her?
Her confusion was washed away when she noticed the orange headphones around his neck. She had dreamed for this moment to finally find him again. All those years of school together a to graduate as a future astronomer, to becoming a level 5 S.H.I.E.L.D agent to research about space, just so she can find him. She ignored every naysayer who told her to forget about her goal.
"Peter?"
Ava asked with tears in her eyes. More to herself as she wondered if this was real. Ava slowly placed her hand on the side of his face. He had grown a small mustache and his chin was scruffy. Ava continued to study his face as he returned her a side smile.
"Hey, little bear." He said softly as Ava broke with a laugh escaping her mouth.
"Peter!" She wrapped her arms around him. He responded by holding her back and the other hand on her head. The two siblings burying into each other's neck, not giving a care about the tear stains.
They pulled away and couldn't believe they had found each other after almost 30 years.
"I guess you're not so little any more." Peter chuckled as Ava returned a smile.
"You're still taller than me, big bear." She said.
Peter grinned as he ruffled her hair.
"I know."

After the funeral for Tony and Natasha, Ava made the decision to leave Earth.
To continue her research out in space and become a Guardian of the Galaxy.
The now well known Starlord, enjoyed telling his little sister all the adventures he had in space.
The battle against Ronan on Xandar, how they defeated a galactic tentacle monster and of course the heavier topic that her Dad was not only a psychotic living planet, but was the reason their mother died.
The past version of Gamora was able to get her memories restored with the help of Doctor Strange. The daughter of Thanos and Ava became instant best friends. Gamora even offered to improve her combat skills from S.H.I.E.L.D., which were very few.
Thor also tagged along for a few weeks until they decided to go separate ways as New Asgard was up against an unknown threat.
On the other hand, the Guardians were packed with many other distress signals. They went to planet after planet to help people who were trying to adjust back to their lives after 5 years.
Almost a month later, the work became less busy as the Guardians took time to visit Xandar in between calls. Ava one night saw a shooting star in the Xandarian sky.
It reminded her of her mother.
Her and Peter would always star gaze with her every summer. Pointing out Ursa major and minor, Cassiopia, the zodiac constellations and countless others.
Peter and Ava's favorite tradition was listening to their mother's mixtape and watching meteor showers whenever they occurred.
There was one night Peter was passed out from singing the songs too loud and it was just Ava and her mother counting shooting stars.
"A shooting star is more than something you wish upon, baby."
She would whisper to her little girl, no older than 3, right before the new about a tumor.
"It's a sign that something good is going to happen Ava."
Young Ava watched the stars to shoot across the sky. "You really think so Mommy?" She asked.
"I do, little bear," Her mother kissed her and pulled her into an embrace.
"I do."
Ava sighed as she rested her head on her mother's shoulder.
"I do too."
She whispered as before drifting asleep.
