     "Peter, Gamora? Rocket? Nova Corps? Someone please answer." Ava mumbled as she listened to the communicator dialing. The last time she had contact with her brother was in the cave. Today marked the third day with zero information.

She paced around the room as Poe sat on the ground. They were outside in the Chief's backyard, trying to find a way off the planet.

The device beeped and beeped until it hung up on her for the 5th time. Ava let out a yell of frustration as she shoved the piece of junk in her pocket.

"We've been here way too long!" Ava screamed as she spiraled into a never ending hole of stress. "I still can't believe Peter just left me here and hasn't given me any updates!"

Poe watched as she rambled and flung her hands around. He shook his head with a smile as she spiraled further.

"We got no ship meaning we are stuck. And then you're still not on your base and-"

"Hey!" Two hands grip her wrists to stop her ranting. Ava was so caught up in her thoughts that she didn't notice Poe get up. "Don't worry about me. Let's just focus on what's going on right now. Alright?"

She stared back at him for a second before she nodded. "Alright."

The word established a promise that she would heed him. His reassuring voice, relaxed and demanding, gave her permission to be calm. She felt comfort in his raw hands from working and fighting. Yet deep inside her was still having a heart attack with Poe right in front of her.

"Now," He began as he released her arms. "I'm still grasping on this Skrull theory of yours. But if you fill me in on what or who they are, I'd be happy to help you track them down."

Drawing her attention away from her unanswered questions, Ava squinted her eyes at Poe. "First, explain to me who Kylo Ren is." She said, remembering how he mention him the previous night.

Poe ridiculed at the random interrogation, knew her reasoning behind it. "He was an angry freak who wanted to be the next Darth Vader blah blah blah. He was also the son of Leia, that women I told you about."

Air had been sucked away as Poe catches his breath. "Is that enough blondie?"

She smiled at his suffering. Knowing he would be annoyed and that was her goal. "I suppose. And I already knew you weren't a Skrull. I can still see your bruise."

Her index finger poked at the discolored splotch on his arm, as he immediately flinched.

"First of all, ow." Poe held up a finger as he narrowed his eyebrows. "And second, why did you feel the need to ask stupid questions when you already know the answer."

Ava shrugged in innocence. "Just funny, watching you get irrated. It's like a 5 year old tantrum."

"Excuse me?" He dropped his jaw and Ava immediately burst out into laughter. Poe frowned harder as he grew more unamused. "Stop it. It wasn't that funny."

She clutched her stomach as she bent over giggling. "I can't help it!" Ava cried with her cheeks hurting from smiling so much. "You're just so serious and it's like-"

With a straight back and her hands on her hips. "Excuse me blondie!?" Ava mocked as she even copied his angry frown and laughed hard than the first time.

His stretched in a straight line, sick of being bullied by her. Not wanting want to argue with her anymore. Poe let out an impatient sigh. "So a Skrull?" He widened his stare to keep Ava on topic.

"Right," She nodded her head once as she began to walk with Poe following next to her. "A Skrull, which you've might of figured out, is a shapeshifter. There's good and bad all over this galaxy and Carol Danvers has been trying to kept it all in order."

Wandering with Ava around the perimeter of the village, Poe listened to every word that came out from her mouth. Doing the best he could to process the new information about the alien race. Being curious as he was fascinated, he tilted his head towards her while still strolling alongside her, and asked. "So then why interrogate the Chief and I, huh?"

"They can impersonate anyone from their appearance down to the genetic level. If smart enough, a Skrull can observe mannerisms and use it as an advantage." Ava educated Poe, doing the best to keep it simple as possible for him to comprehend. "But they have zero information on the background for the person they portray to be. Meaning-

"A Skrull won't know about my galaxy." Poe completed her sentence as the concept started to make sense.

"Exactly." A soft kind smile appeared on her lips, as she watched her stepping feet below her, not expecting him to be paying attention. Then again, Ava never really have anyone listen to her rambles or explanations of her knowledge in the way he did. With the exception of her brother and a few Avengers. But it was different with Poe.

"I get it." Poe hummed with a sideways glance. "You think there might be bounty hunter hiding in our midst?"

"Hmm-mm. Which is why I-"

Poe cleared his throat and saw his hand gesturing between the two of them.

Ava rolled her eyes before clarifying. "Why we need to find this Skrull so they can give us a direction of where BB-8 and Groot could be." Ava clarified.

Poe scanned the village. The population wasn't massive as the Resistance, but it wasn't small either. He saw kids playing some kind of sport as they kicked around a dusty ball. A chorus of laughs caused him to drift away from the match. Gathered and sandwiched inside two huts were two families. They all sat in a circle as they ate an unknown dish while enjoying each others company. Next, sitting on the porch was an older couple with beaming smiles. He then spotted more Easiks going about their day, showing innocence and no suspicion.

"How do we track a Skrull down? It's not like we can check everyone." Poe stated as he adjusted to be standing in front of his ally.

Ava smirked proudly. "We don't have to. Because I might know who it is."

Poe put his hands on his hips. "Might?"

"It's a high chance since I already got this person cornered," She replied as he cocked an eyebrow and to wait for anticipating reveal.

Ava looked around and before she grabbed Poe's sleeve, cupping her hand around her mouth as she whispered in his ear. 

He turned his head to look back at Ava with his eyes trusting and approving her accusation. Receiving her idea made the suspect more obvious once Poe heard the name.

"Are you in?" She requested, waiting for his response. "Cause if not I'm doing it myself."

Poe smirked and declined her second option with a shake of his head.

"Let's catch ourselves a bounty hunter, Blondie."

Being a chief of Easik wasn't that hard for Hoku when it was in a state of peace. He normally did everything to keep the villagers happy and comfortable in his presence.

Currently inside his home, looking over some blueprints of how to improve the village into a city.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard something outside his office.

Proceeding with caution he grabbed the nearest object to use as a weapon. A broom, as he swept the floor earlier that day. Using it as a staff to defend himself from the source of the noise.

Directing the pole towards the door and reaching for the handle. His hand covered the knob, carefully turning as he slowly opened it.

He then lifted the broom as if it were a rifle gun, ready to knock out the threat.

"Hello?" Hoku whispered as he lurked down the hall. "Who's there?"

He was about to round the corner until Ava appeared in front of him. She jumped back in surpise to see the Chief's defensive stance.

Hoku stare blankly at her as she stood their like a orloni being caught in shiplights. "Sorry, Ms. Quill." He sighed as he placed the cleaning supply down and letting it lean against the wall. "I thought I heard something. Forgive me."

She shrugged off her fear with a grin. "Eh, no worries. I've done that before when I'm the only one awake on the Benatar."

The Chief let out a chuckle at the comment. "What can I do for you then?" He said as he welcomed her into his office, and facing the small window parallel to the threshold. "I can give you a nice ship for you and your friend if your ready to leave."

SLAM!

In an instant, Hoku spun around to see Ava's ally, stepping away from the door he had just shut and now locked.

"We aren't leaving yet." Poe said as he stepped forward and the Chief dropped his smile.

"What's going on here!?" Hoku snapped in rage.

Hardly did Ava notice the man get angry. Peter even told her before they came that he was one of the most friendliest guys in the galaxy.

She glanced at Poe hoping he would get the message. He rose his eyebrows as he received the information.

"How old are you?" Ava began the interrogation as her and Poe approached him.

Hoku snorted and watched the two in disbelief. "That's a funny reason to trap someone in their own office, but I'm 53. But thanks for stopping by."

The hope for them to leave vanished when they both hardened narrowed their eyes on him.

Poe released his folded arms and put his hands on his hips. "Where were you born?"

"On Easik of course!" He cheered as he extended his arms.

"Got a wife? Kids?" Poe asked.

Hoku nodded. "Wife, yes! Very beautiful women, her name is Gillian and I have three kids. Two girls one boy."

The general wasn't finished as he changed his weight into the other foot. "Go on."

Hoku frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Tell us about the weather. No! Go on about the kids." Poe played around with the Chief, getting tired of chasing his tail. "What's their names? They've got to have names, right? Unless you and Gillian suck at being parents and forgot to name your children."

He saw at the corner of his eye, Ava bitting her lip to keep herself from laughing. But a snicker rubbed against her tight lips.

Pride burned into Poe's chest before he pointed a finger at Hoku. "Answer the question, Chief."

Hoku gulped and it was clear to see the fear in his trembling eyes. "Drock, Diron and Dyna." He replied.

Ava crossed her arms and tilted her head. "All names start with the same letter? Pretty lousy."

"Very lousy." Poe added.

"My wife's idea." Hoku stated. "Look are you done with your questions? I have work to get back to."

"What kind of work?" Ava pryed as she walked towards the desk and tapped the holographic keyboard. A screen popped up in front of her. Words displaying a conversation with an unknown contact. She waited for Poe to confirm or back up her accusation, until she saw him squinting. He stood there trying to understand the foreign language.

Right. He's from another galaxy.

She cleared her throat, directing her attention to the message.

"'The little round robot is all yours and it's here on Easik.' Is what you told this person, Hoku." Ava translated and sent a glare at him.

The man stood there and caught a glimpse of Poe's wrathful eyes. "What did you do to my droid!?"

Hoku backed away as he was being cornered by Ava and a not so happy resistance pilot.

"I-uh"

"Talk!" Poe demanded, scaring not only the life out of the man, but managed to send chills down Ava's spine. She saw him mad in the cave, but that word was an understatement for him now.

He was furious.

Hoku found himself trapped and refused to slip out a word.

Before Poe or Ava got to close, he jumped out the window next to him.

"Hey!" Poe yelled as he chased after their suspect.

Must we use the window.

Ava rolled her eyes as using the front door of the home would be the better option. She dashed out of the office and exited the giant hut.

Hoku was running down the streets as different Easiks cocked an eyebrow, seeing two members of the Guardians of the Galaxy chasing him. He pushed everyone who got in the way.

Poe was right on his tail and pulled out his blaster.

There was no point in going after him. If he truly was a skrull, then he needed to be caught as soon as possible, before he transformed into someone else.

While her partner ran closely behind the imposter, Ava decided to take the back alleys between the huts. She maneuvered the village like she was inside a giant maze and time was short on escaping.

Running alongside a fence she saw through the cracks that Hoku would have to take a turn. But she he wasn't going to get away on her watch.

At the right moment, Ava crashed through the wooden panels. Hoku came to a hault as she stood in front and Poe pointing a gun behind him with a sneer.

Ava pulled out her godslayer as it shot out the blade with a satisfying whoosh. "Not another step, Hoku." She breathed out, loose hair fell on both sides of her sweaty face.

"Or should I say Skrull impersonating Hoku?"

The man in the brown attire turned his head back and forth. "Guards!!" He commanded, a smirk followed, believing he had won the fight.

"Think again," Poe said with his weapon still aimed at the man's head. "They are unconscious back at your house."

"Still, you have my whole village, watching two so called heroes, fight their precious leader!" Hoku protested. "You kill me and I'm not a Skrull like I'm telling you. Then that blood will be on your hands."

Ava stopped to ponder that. What if he was right? And her hunch was wrong. She wouldn't be the innocent Little Quill anymore.

Before she could respond, verbally or physically, the sound of a gun went off and a few screams of the villagers watching from their homes. She only noticed an older crowd and assumed the children were inside their huts. Which she was thankful for, they didn't need to see any of this showdown.

Her eyes widened as she saw Hoku stumble backwards. Not dead, just injured. Poe stood there, lowering his arm. "We don't have to kill you to find out who you really are."

Everyone watched as Hoku bended over and put a hand over his thigh. Doing his best to hide the green reptilian skin, yet the facade of the Chief melted away.

Poe's mouth gaped open as he observed the Skrull. Two long ears reminded him of the holographs of Master Yoda. Two large purple eyes and a flat nose in between.

Horrified gasps and terror came across the villagers. Some murmering and whispering their reactions to the big reveal.

The Skrull snarled at Poe and then at Ava who gripped the handle of her sword before lunging forwards. She whipped her blade right in front of the Skrulls throat. Poe took that opportunity to point the blaster on the imposter's back.

"Who are you? Where's the real Chief Hoku?" Ava pressed for answers.

But their culprit remained quiet. Poe pushed the nose of his weapon against the Skrull's back. "You suck at listening to people when they ask you questions."

The strong Skrull continued to glare at Ava. "The names Raze, the Chief is hidden away."

"Who was your contact, Raze?" Ava moved her blade to be right against his neck.

Raze snarled through his crooked yellow teeth. Tension grew painfully thick as Ava slightly pushed the sword and the Skrull remained silent.

Before any words where said, a force knocked Ava to the ground. Her sword clattered on the hard dirt as she landed on her back. She propped herself on her elbows and saw a female Skrull, looking down on her. Her identity unknown as a black bandana cover everything except her heather colored eyes.

Poe pointed his blaster at her, but she swung her leg to kick it out of his hand. She then punched him in the chest as he flew backwards to the ground as well.

The women pulled out her weapon, a dagger and put her foot on the outsiders shoulder. She raised her sharp blade before bringing it down to Poe.

But a clash of metal kept Poe from getting stabbed.

He saw Ava, on bended knee, blocking the dagger with her sword. Using all of her strength to keep the dagger away from him.

"I'll take her, you get Raze." She commanded over her shoulder, before she kicked her opponent away from Poe.

He nodded as he got back on his feet and faced the tall Skrull. Raze pulled out his own blaster and aimed at the General, but was too slow. Poe shot at the Skrulls feet first, who jumped out of the way before his toes were blown off. Raze sneered at the outsider as he pulled the trigger again. Poe barely dodged and the cosmic energy hit  the side of one of the huts.

Flashes of the invasion on Jakku went through Poe's mind. He still remebered the screams of the villagers as they were wiped out by stormtroopers. He wasn't going to watch people get hurt ever again. He turned his attention to the villagers running in panic.

"Get inside! All of you!" He shouted while avoiding another blast from Raze's gun.

The Skrull charged at him and Poe rolled on his back. Raze missed once again. Landing on his knee, Poe shot back, hitting one of Raze's thigh who let out a grunt.

Poe then tossed a gravity mine on the ground, making Raze attract to it like a magnet. He marched over to the shapeshifter and squatted down.

"Your not going anywhere." Poe said. "You still have some questions to answer for me."

Late update, mostly because I had a busy weekend. But it's here now!

Also, don't you just love Ava and Poe pulling a Bonnie and Cyde?
