Ava had mentally pinched herself that she was shaking hands with one of her heros.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Stark." Ava finally spoke.

Tony smirked and let go with a nod agreeing with her compliment. "Yes, and I've heard you're one of the top researchers from SHIELD. You also graduated with astronomy and astrophysics?"

Ava shrugged. "What can I say? I have more interest in the galaxy than anything else."

He patted her on the back as he guided her to her new office at S.T.A.R.K. industries.

"Good. You familiar with the Chitari?" He asked her.

She gulped as she tried not to stutter her words. "The aliens that invaded earth? Of course, I do sir."

Tony gave her an approving smile. "Then you will be a great help to the team. Any update you have considering threats from space, you contact me immediately. I don't want any surpise visits, alright?"

Ava nodded. "Yes Mr. Stark."

"Kid, you can quit being so patriotic and formal. I'm Ironman not Cap." He said before taking out a pen and a note card.

She waited for him to finished his sentence, worried to interrupted a man such as Ironman.

He finished scribbling on the paper and handed the card to her. She took and read:

Personal number of Tony

Ava mentally pinched herself again as she studied the 10 digit numbers she now had access to.

"Call me Tony."

The sun started to chase the shadows as it peaked on the horizon. Ava's feet hitting the paved sidewalks of Xandar at a steady pace. The crisp cool air blowing on her bare shoulders. She wore her navy blue sports bra and magenta colored yoga pants with black tennis shoes.

A mix of melodies of her favorite bands and artists from Earth filled her ears. Motivating beats blasting from her earbuds that connected to her Ipod touch she brought with her. The lyrics went on, but her mind was only focused on a dream she had the previous night. It left a hole in her heart as it reminded her of the reality that came from the Blip. Since

After a mile or 2, she returned back to the condo. She wiped the sweat off her forehead with her backhand as she stepped inside. She made her way to the kitchen and grabbed a piece of Xandar fruit that tasted like heaven. It was better than a apple, berry, melon or any passion fruit. It had the texture of a mango but tasted sweeter than a cherry.

"Since when when are you an early bird?"

Ava spun on her heel in mid-bite to see her brother sitting on a stool by the counter. He let out a yawn and rubbed a hand over his face.

"Since I first started working for Tony Stark." She huffed.

Peter chuckled. "Ah yes, he made you go through alot of research and blah blah-"

"May I remind you, I did that research so I could find you." Ava clarified as scolded a finger at her brother. "That meant enhanced individuals who had knowledge of space. Not to mention-"

"Alright," Peter cut her off. "You're a genius astronomer that knows alot about the galaxy. I know, I know."

Ava rolled her eyes and decided not to argue this early in the day. After all, Peter did have more experience living in space and she wasn't ready to compete with that.

"How'd you sleep?" She asked, sitting on the stool next to Peter and took another bite of the fruit. She used her back hand to wipe off the juice that dripped off her chin.

"That's charming." Peter whispered under his breath with disgust as Ava punched his shoulder.

"Sleep doesn't exist when you have to share a room with Rocket and Drax." He replied as he huffed out a laugh.

"You got a point." Ava nodded as her mind wandered and curiosity took over. "Are you guys getting along with the new guy?"

Peter shrugged. "If you consider Rockets banter with him as getting along then yes. Or Drax asking him way too personal questions."

"What questions did he ask?" Ava hopped down from her seat as she grabbed a cup. She bit her lip when she tried to imagine Poe interacting with Drax and Rocket.

Peter shrugged. "A bunch of questions that contain men's secrets. Poe ignored all of them as he was probably disturbed by them."

Ava nodded after cringing as she figured what men secrets meant. "I think I can imagine the amount of inappropriate from Drax." She snickered with her eyes widened.

"What about you?" She asked as she filled her cup from the sink.

"Its been better, but he only responds with snarky comments." Peter expressed.

"That's too bad." Ava sighed as she took a sip water and leaning on the counter across from her brother.

Peter gave interest as a flash of remembrance struck him. "Seemed like he talked to you before dinner last night. How was that?"

Panic covered Ava from head to toe as she choked on her water. Did Peter notice what Gamora saw? Ava knew all too well that Peter was protective of his little sister.

When Thor was around, he was flirtatious toward her. Ava didn't see him anything but a friend. However, Peter would get mad very easily and lecture the God of Thunder.

Spitting out the water that sprayed all over the counter.

Ava cleared her throat after what felt like coughing her lungs out. "It was good. He was quiet and didn't say much."

Peter sat up straight and crossed his arms with furrowed eyebrows. "He, uh. Didn't pulled a move on you did he?"

Ava didn't know how to answer that. Her and Poe were definitely close enough, that if he wanted to, could pull a move.

Was he going to?

Wiping the water dripping on her chin and shaking off the throught, she replied. "No. Just talked about Xandar and told him it wasn't a bad place to be stranded on."

Peter nodded once with relief. "Good. He better not."

When she set her cup down, she stared down for a moment. Trying to drop the conversation and letting go of her thoughts about Poe.

There was no doubt in her mind that he was attractive, but it didn't mean she was in love with him. She barely knew him for less than two days. Not only that, he was from another galaxy, after he leaves, she'd probably never see him again. Besides, there was a chance he had a lover waiting for him to return.

On top of that, he had an attitude that drove her crazy since the first time they met.

The way Peter described Poe's attitude, reminded her of Tony Stark and how he was also too stubborn for certain things.

"What's going inside that giant head of yours?" Peter asked.

She smiled to herself. Part of her wanted to throw Poe under the bus and see how Peter would react. Yet she stuck with her second option.

"Just missing Tony." She said as her fingers fileted the edges of her cup. She wasn't that close to him, but her the dream she had the previous night brought back all the small special moments she did have with him.

The touch of Starlord's hand on top of hers brought snapped her back to reality.

"I know." Peter responded and acknowledge the pain of loss she had gone through. "I only got to know him briefly, but he seemed like he was a good man."

Ava nodded. "He was. If I never met Stark, I may not have found you."

It was the truth. Ava knew that if she or Peter never met the famous Ironman, neither would have been at his funeral. Therefore, they would have never been reunited.

Starlord chuckled softly as he patted her hand. "It's only been a month Ava, but I'm glad you came out here with me. You're the only family I have by blood that isn't dead or a psychopath trying to kill me."

The corner of Ava's lips stretched to her cheek as he referred to Ego. She stepped around the counter to sit on the stool next to Peter.

"We now have each other." Ava stated, beaming at her brother.

She softly moved her arms behind his shoulders, her hands lingering on his back while her head rested on his chest. Peter responded by wrapping his arms around her smaller frame.

Moments like this brought comfort. Peter might have been separated from Ava for half of his life, but in these moments, they were closer.

"Love you little bear." Peter whispered.

"You too big bear."

Peter gave a final squeeze and kissed the top of her head before letting her go.

"Not to make you mad at me but you should shower because I can smell all the sweat."

Ava glared at him before punching his arm.

Short and sweet filler chapter. Also get to see more of Peter and Ava's sibling relationship and how she knew tony!
